ANT-MAN Gearing For A London Shoot; 2014 Release Likely?

It appears that Marvel Studios are planning to shoot their long in development Ant-Man project in London after Thor: The Dark World and Edgar Wright finishes up The World's End. Read on for more details.

Latino Review has broken yet another Marvel Studios scoop. The site (who revealed earlier this summer that Guardians Of The Galaxy would be Marvel's other 2014 project) now says that, following the end of Thor: The Dark World's production this summer, Marvel will begin production on Edgar Wright's Ant-Man in London. The film has been in development for some time, so those who have been looking forward to seeing Wright's take on the Marvel character should be excited to hear this news.

Wright is currently set to film The World's End later this year, reteaming with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Thor: The Dark World will begin production in London next month. So production on Ant-Man should begin sometime next year, as was previously stated by Pegg.

Also, Latino Review says that it's looking likely that Ant-Man will be Marvel's third 2014 release, which has been rumored since the recent debut of Wright's test footage at San Diego Comic-Con. Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the aforementioned Guardians Of The Galaxy are set to be released on April 4th and August 1st, respectively, in 2014. While we're discussing Thor: The Dark World, Jaimie Alexander (who plays Sif in the first Thor and will reprise the role for the sequel) posted the following on Twitter, teasing her character's new costume. The sequel (directed by Alan Taylor) is set to hit theaters November 8th, 2013.

YESSSSS!!!I knew there would be some good news coming from the Marvel camp.I hope this is true about Ant-Man shooting next year.This movie needs to be made ASAP.I also can't wait to see Marvel's list of directors they want for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Im all for seeing the character and his story on the big screen but marvel is gona have a hell of a hard time selling a movie called Ant Man.

@GUNSMITH i know..its killin me...i remember the Thor footage hit youtube about 4 days after Comic-con...Even screenshots would be awesome...I saw one shot with the ladybug, but wasnt sure if that was a fan generated pic or not...

Gardians of Galaxy was strange enough choice for Marvel!
& now ANT-MAN!

I don't know man!

I really love Marvel films & I trust them to deliver a good film!
& That's probably the only reason I'm gona see this one!
Other than that; I've got NO Interest in seeing creepy ants on screen & God knows in 3D!!!

These 2 films can really suck badly!
I hope they don't & I know Marvel aren't stupid to put any film on screen!
So we'll see!


All Marvel comics fans; is there any other good SuperHero which can be made into a film!
I've heard Black Panther!
But it's in same AntMan league!

imagine... the avengers are bogged down in battle with some unkown alien threat, tired and running out of steam. the enemy regroups into a formation giving our stretched heros a brief respite before the frontal assault. the city is in ruins and scores are dead, suddenly the ground starts to tremor and hulk grows a great smile on his green face hollering "Pym's here! Attack!" giant man comes lumbering into view through the thick smoke of destruction and lays waste to the alien forces in his wake a torrent like, tsunami of insects joins the battle and the avengers are victorious

I just got through reading the headline after commenting and Ant-Man might be the third movie in their 2014 slate.Damn!!!I hope Marvel has a Black Panther movie in Phase 2 because he needs to be in Avengers 2 and the character is badass.I can't wait to see Sif's new costume.

Yeah, I seriously doubt X-men 2, Spider-Man 2, Cap 2 and Guardians will all come out the same year. There has never been more than 3 marvel films in one year, they've tried and failed before.

@Luigi: X-Men is Fox, Spider-Man is Sony, the other 2 are Marvel they're all scheduled for 2014 releases so believe it.

Also just saw the update about Sif, can't wait to see her new costume! Hope she has a bigger role!

2015: The Avengers 2, Hulk 2
Plus SHIELD, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Runaways, Heroes for Hire...

@FilmsFan What do you mean that Black Panther and Ant-Man are in the same league.You mean they are both badasses and scientists.T'Challa is a king of an advanced country and he's a great warrior.Hank Pym is a genius and also creates Ultron,one of the greatest villains in the Marvel Universe.BP and Pym both deserve movies IMHO.They both should be in Avengers 2.

@thalidomide It would be great at the end of the Ant-Man movie or an after credits scene where you see Pym working on Ultron and his upper body is just about complete,then Jan calls Hank over to talk about the Avengers.Then Pym walks over to Jan and all of a sudden Ultron's face lights up without them knowing and the scene ends.That would be awesome.

@LMB10 why is this so hard for you to understand? Fox and Sony use Marvel characters in name only. Only films done by Marvel Studios can lay claim to being 'Marvel films'.

Ant-Man's been in production for 6+ years already. 2014 is entirley posisble.
