Speaking to MTV News, actor Chris Hemsworth discusses some of his upcoming projects. He offers an update on Marvel Studios' Thor: The Dark World, which will finish production in a few weeks, and how the relationships between Thor, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) have progressed. He also praises director Alan Taylor, who gives off a Game Of Thrones vibe in the highly anticipated sequel.

"We have six weeks to go to shoot. This is the trickiest bit, because you can go, "Oh, yeah, we're past the halfway mark!" which isn't a good idea, because you're not finished yet. You sort of get that second wind about now or you hope to and push on through. But it's been great. The look of the film is a lot bigger than what we did even previously. The first one worked and people loved it, but this is with a different director and just has a totally different feel. There's a definite "Game of Thrones" vibe thanks to [director] Alan [Taylor]."

"For Thor and Jane, there are some unanswered questions now, since obviously he didn't stop in and catch up with her in "Avengers." Thor might have some explaining to do in this one," says Hemsworth. "And with Loki, we get down to the major bones of our conflict with everything that's come from "Thor" to "Avengers" to now."

Additionally, Hemsworth confirms that he will star in Steven Spielberg's upcoming sci-fi film Robopocalypse, which begins production early next year. "No one does sci-fi better than him [Spielberg]. It was a no-brainer. And then I read the script and was even more excited if that's possible." He's also asked about the planned Snow White & The Huntsman follow-up. Yesterday, we heard that Kristen Stewart will return for a sequel, but director Rupert Sanders won't. Will Hemsworth return as well? "Honestly, I've heard the same things you've heard. I think if there's an appetite for the sequel, they'll get one going, but there's nothing official yet. I had a great time making the last one, so who knows?"

Finally, Hemsworth is asked if he would be interested in appearing in a Star Wars movie, as Disney have announced plans to produce another trilogy (with Episode VII eying a 2015 release). Of course, Hemsworth would love to do something in the franchise. "Oh man, I love those films. That's the sort of bread and butter of my film experience as a kid. I would love to work on something like that. I also loved "Lord of the Rings." I would have loved to have done something in that world." Hemsworth was great in Snow White and he was the best actor in Cabin In the Woods. Though he did Red Dawn years ago you can see his steady acting in the trailer.

Now that hes established he should be more picky. Though hes probably signed for another Snow White, he was too good for that film and I have to wonder if he may regret going after that part because it could tie him up with a sequel.
Hes a solid actor and I look forward to seeing him breakout of genre stuff and doing other types of film.

It's nice when an actor exudes genuine enthusiasm for appearing in genre films.

Didn't Mr. Hemsworth sign a contract with Marvel to do 5 or 6 more films? If that's the case, he can't be heavily involved in Star Wars anyway.
HAILHYDRA - 11/20/2012, 10:13 AM
Cabin in the woods was great from beginning to end

@neopunch: Yeah, I believe he signed a six picture contract. So it would be difficult to play both characters if he was a major one in the Star Wars sequels.

Really like this guy. And some mentioned since he is up and coming star he should be a little picky about twhat movies he stars in. He out performed EVERYONE in Snow white and the hunstmen, he was the best part of the movie. He was too good for that film IMO.

I hope he shows us a new side with Thor this time around. Show us a different side of the character chris!
