Speaking with Coming Soon, Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore talks a little more about a possible sequel. Considering that Disney's animated video game film earned rave reviews, grossed nearly $380M worldwide, and is up for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, a follow-up is rather inevitable. Moore previously expressed his interest in including Nintendo's Mario in the next film, and now, he reveals another character that he'd like to showcase: Tron, who was actually planned to have a cameo in the first movie. "I can't specifically remember why that didn't happen," says Moore. "...Of course, with a sequel, I'm hoping that we can find a way to see Tron himself in that movie." Played by Bruce Boxleitner in 1982's TRON and 2010's TRON: Legacy, the character is also featured in Disney XD's animated series TRON: Uprising. Would you like to see Tron in a Wreck-It Ralph sequel? You can check out Wreck-It Ralph on Blu-Ray and DVD March 5th.

I loved Wreck it Ralph. But one thing that bugs me is they had all these plans to include Mario and apparently Tron but it obviously never happened.

Heck even Sonic was sorta relegated to mere cameos. I hope the sequel will kinda put forth all these fan favorite characters at the forefront so we can see our favorite childhood videogame characters truly on the big screen. Maybe have them work side-by-side with Wreck it Ralph in the next one.

@LP4
yeah,I was hoping they would do a little more.
for example,almost at the end,when the cy-bugs were almost done consuming Sugar Rush,I thought some of them were going to escape and invade the central station,I was hoping to see,I dunno,Ryu throwing some hadoukens at them or Sonic kicking cy-bug butt,but that didn't happened.

oh well,the cameos were cool at least.

LP4@ Let us not forget that this isn't a movie about them. If anything they only need to be used in minor cameo appearances unless it is important that they be used as a character device. The movie is about Ralph and his journey not any of the famous game characters. Having too many of them show up or be included in the story takes away from Ralph.

@Jate- Yeah I get that it's a movie about RALPH and heck to a lesser degree Felix as well. But still wished i could have seen some of my favorite video game icons kicking butt too alongside Ralph and Felix :(

Inevitable sequel? Considering that Disney has done maybe 2 or 3 sequels to their Disney Animated Classics (straight to DVD releases by Disneytoon studios do not count) I think it might take a seriously awesome script to get a Wreck-it Ralph sequel produced...well at least a theatrically released sequel. Disney must have quite a few films in the pipeline, if the film bags the oscar it might stand a better chance.

Is this something I want to see? Are you shitting me? Fvck yes. Please! Why the fvck did Tron not appear in the first one?! WTF happened there? And it's gotta be Boindexter, right? He's been the constant, in all things Tron. Gotta have that Brucie-bonus, duder.
JatevinM - 2/4/2013, 2:59 PM
Boekelaar@ Disney already has plans for a Wreck-It-Ralph sequel.

@Kamen

Okay, that Avengers/TRON post is amazing.
OrganizedChaos - 2/4/2013, 10:04 PM
Wreck-It Ralph should've gotten Daft Punk for that cameo instead of Skrillex
Hitboyj - 2/5/2013, 2:03 AM
Good this movie was grand but I wanted see more of the other characters
supermarioworldE - 2/5/2013, 8:47 AM
Tron was many people's first foray into computers and video games yet get's so little credit. It'd be cool to see the character get a little spotlight for a change.
