It was previously stated that director Michael Bay's fourth Transformers film would begin shooting sometime in May, but a new report suggests that production may actually begin today. On Location Vacations received a tip saying that "something" for the movie (which is described as the first of a new Transformers trilogy by Bay) is being done today at Raleigh Studios in Playa Vista, CA. However, it's unknown if this is merely pre-production (such as visual effects or screen testing) or if filming is actually beginning. It is also unknown where the majority of on location filming will occur, but it has been confirmed that it would be different from the prior Transformers trilogy, as the fourquel will be completely redesigned. Stay tuned to CBM for more news as we have it.

Transformers 4 stars Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor. The film is set to hit theaters June 27th, 2014.

They'll probably do some screen tests or something like that.

They filmed the opening of Transformers 2, the shanghai scene, about a half an hour from my house. Myself and a few friends went to the location drunk at 4am expecting to see giant robots, That was my blonde moment for the decade.

I would say that it must be soul-killing for Bay to devote 20 years of his life to these stupid movies, but you have to have a soul in the first place.

Who cares? Until Micheal Bay leaves the franchise I won't be watching another one...

I'll admit it. I liked the first Transformers movie, a lot. Yeah, it could've done without the immature jokes, and a few other Bayisms, but on the whole, it's a fun-to-watch, well-made movie. The sequels are pure shit, though. Bay doubled-down on the potty-humor and completely neglected important stuff like plot and common sense. The second one totally Schumacher'd the series for me. I say bring on the reboot and never let Bay near a kid's movie again.

hope it's not a terrorist attack and they are just assuming Bay is making a movie again.

transformers flicks weren't as bad as everyone says for what they were based on...go back and try to watch the Transformers cartoons....damn we were easily entertained back then.

I admit the original G1 cartoon was really tough to get back into. Each episode was just whiny ass Megatron attacking a new natural resource and the autobots being all barney and friends huggy.

However, that doesn't mean there isn't some real substance in the transformers realm. Beast Wars and Transformers Prime still had really good storylines. Personally I think the best stories for the the Transformers have come from High Moon Studios in War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron.

I would love to see Transformers 4 carry the same kind of character development and story depth as there is in those games.

@Jessie...exactly..yeah he's changing it yeah it's not the same. If it sucks , well we got the old comics and flicks.
