Akira Takarada Will Appear In New GODZILLA Film
Japanese actor Akira Takarada, who starred in the original Godzilla film in 1954, is shown on the set of the American reboot with director Gareth Edwards, seemingly confirming that he'll making some sort of appearance in the movie.
Via the film's official Facebook page, Legendary Pictures has released the following set photo from their anticipated Godzilla reboot. The image features director Gareth Edwards alongside none other than Japanese actor Akira Takarada, who starred as Hideto Ogata in the original 1954 Godzilla film and appeared other installments in the long running franchise (including Mothra Vs. Godzilla and the last movie, 2004's Godzilla: Final Wars). There is currently no word on how big a role Takarada has in the currently-shooting reboot, but you can check out the image below.
Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. The film is set to hit theaters May 16th, 2014.
