I have though that the only way for the Ironman franchise to continue is for Rhodey to take up the mantle of Ironman. It's happened before in the comics.

But is there any point to an Ironman movie without the RDJ factor?? Who is bigger (no s[racial slur]ing!) the character or the actor?

Put him in an Avengers West Coast or Secret Avengers movie.

Marvel better do a Heroes For Hire or Black Panther movie befor a War Machine movie.

Believe it when I see it only. Hollywood has a terrible record when it comes to Non-Whites as lead characters!

After the piece of crap that IM3 is I seriously believe They will have z hard time try ing to bring IM back, and if RD Jr is not returning the franchises is losing a big part of it, so how can he believe a solo spin off war machine can actually happen? LoL

I could see an Iron Man 2.0 movie, base it off those comics. They were very war driven comics... and Rhodey as a character is awesome

meh. I don't need a War Machine movie. It was great to see him in IronMan, but I'd rather see Black Panther or Sub Mariner.

@Orphix,

"I have though that the only way for the Ironman franchise to continue is for Rhodey to take up the mantle of Ironman. It's happened before in the comics."

I agree. WHile I'm not married to any comic plots being using exactly the same way in the movies, it would actually make too much sense for Rhodey to continue on as Iron Man if Tony were to step back (and thus giving RDJ less stress on his body for the action sequences etc).

I said it elsewhere, but if they replace RDJ as Iron Man, I want them to go in a totally different direction rather than having someone do an impression of RDJ. Rhodey just makes perfect sense for that.

Iron patriot sucked balls. War Machine would be cool but will never happen. Also Terrence Howard was a much better Rhode!

Don Cheadle's a remarkable actor. First movie I saw him in, he played a French demolitions expert in Ocean's Eleven.

I think if he were working on his own, and not to the beat of another lead character AND actor, he could make Rhodey a stronger, more interesting character.

French?! You gotta check that accent again!

First time I saw him, where I took notice of him, was the ghetto-ish criminal in Out of Sight. The next thing he was totally different, and then I saw him as the british demolitions guy in Oceans... but yeah, great actor. I've still not gotten used to it not being Terence Howard though.

Jamie fuxing Foxx is terribad.
Rewatched Django again the other night. He was probably the worst actor in that movie. Just below Quentin himself.

Having seen Oceans Eleven its kind of understandable where the confusion comes from.

I'm British and was never 100% sure what accent he was doing. :oP

@teabag u may be right dude, But 3/5 and 4/5 are just for average Good movies IM got 5/5 I insist IM 3 is a Good popcorn flick, but the fatigue of the franchise is more than visible.

I like the Iron Patriot as Rhodey instead of Osborn, makes more sense! You could never get Osborn in an IM suit in the movies without bringing Spidey into the MCU. Reaaly like the direction the went with that, but a solo film without RDJ would just suck!

Ironman 4 starts with Tony retiring, a press conference maybe announcing that he is no longer Ironman. Make the movie about an enemy or a group of enemies trying to attack a suitless Tony and revolve the movie around Rhodey working as his body guard protecting as War Machine but losing and the armor getting destroyed and ultimately saving him as Ironman 2.0. End the movie with Tony having his answer does the suit make the man or the man make the suit. And its not the answer he wanted. However, have him get redeemed in later movies via cameo with him returning to the suit along with Steve (replaced by Bucky) in Avengers 3.
STOOPUDR
STOOPUDR - 4/26/2013, 7:49 AM
Never make an Ironman movie without RDJ, just make him a supporting character/ cameo for a few until the bug hits him again (true to the comics just like Stark did - he will want to wear the armor again some day), this way you can go on without him, without recasting. Just let Rhodey/ Cheadle keep his seat warm for him.

I always liked James Rhodes, he's one of the oldest supporting characters in the Marvel universe. I think a War Machine movie could work, but I don't feel they fleshed out his character enough in the Iron Man films to warrant a film.

I think there will be no RDJ in Iron Man 4,after Avenger 2 maybe there will be a recast and a new actor for Avengers 3 and Iron Man 4.
