Alexander Skarsgard Says He's Not Attached To THE CROW Remake

It was recently reported that Alexander Skarsgard was being considered for the role of Eric Draven in Relativity's remake of The Crow, and now the actor briefly denies being attached to any post-True Blood project and shares his thoughts on the original film.

Earlier this week, we heard that, despite having a conversation about the project, The Avengers' Tom Hiddleston wasn't going to play The Crow in Relativity Media's adaptation of the acclaimed 1994 adaptation. At the same time, it was reported that the role might go to Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood, Battleship), despite no offer being made. So it should come as no surprise that the actor denies being attached to the remake while speaking with our friends over at MTV Splash Page.

"No, I'm not attached to anything right now after 'True Blood,'" he said. He was recently considering Warner Bros.' Tarzan movie before production was postponed. Regardless, Skarsgard praises the original Crow film which starred Brandon Lee. "Yeah, it's a great film. It's really cool."

Skarsgard and Hiddleston are just two of several names who have been linked to The Crow. Bradley Cooper was attached at one point, while Channing Tatum, Mark Wahlberg and James McAvoy were also linked to the remake. Who do you want to see play Eric Draven on the big screen?

The only people who would be interested in the Crow are 90's kids and they don't want a remake...
Kjo0212 - 5/2/2013, 2:46 PM

Uhh attached means he hasn't signed on. It doesn't mean there aren't discussions or talks. So this is basically confirming what we are already aware of?

I almost feel bad for this dude. He was THIS close to becoming Thor.

He got as far as trying the costume on, and also said in an interview (he sounded genuinely bummed out) that he thought he had the gig in the bag.....

Joss Whedon was working with Chris Hemsworth on the set of "Cabin in the Woods" and asked Chris if he had auditioned for the role of Thor. Chris responded that he had, but was not getting the role. (Whedons words)..."This is crazy, you should be Thor !"

Whedon "convinced" Kenneth Branagh to let Hemsworth try out for the role one more time. (Who knows what the "convincing" part entailed. Joss Whedon is a very powerful Marvel figure)

The rest is history.(No bad on Alexander , but I am VERY glad they selected Hemsworth)

I just always though it was a fascinating process in the casting of Thor. Too bad for Alexander though.

Stellan Skarsgård is the father.
Alexander Skarsgård and Gustaf Skarsgård are his sons.

Gustaf has made roles in Kon-Tiki, Peter Weir´s The Way Back, Arn, Mikael Håfström´s film Evil. And he is also Floki in Viking tv-series.
AlexDeLarge87 - 5/3/2013, 3:28 AM
Anyway Alex is good actor but i hope he doesnt play The Crow or Tarzan.
KNIGHT3000 - 5/3/2013, 6:20 AM
Thank God! This guy is overrated anyway. LEAVE THE CROW ALONE!!!!!!
