Josh Friedman Hired To Work On AVATAR 2 Script With Director James Cameron
Development on the first of two planned Avatar sequels is moving forward, as James Cameron has enlisted Josh Friedman (creator and showrunner of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) to work on the script for the follow-up to the highest grossing film of all time.
According to The Wrap, director James Cameron has hired Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles showrunner and creator Josh Friedman to work on his script for Avatar 2, which is the first of two planned follow-ups to the highest grossing film of all time. 20th Century Fox and producer Jon Landau had no comment on the news. Stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are set to return for the sequel, which is apparently still on course for a 2015 release date. However, production will not begin until late 2013 or early 2014, which makes that date seem unlikely (not to mention the multitude of other blockbusters scheduled for that year). The first movie grossed nearly $2.8B worldwide back in 2010, so expectations are high for the sequels. Are you looking forward to Avatar 2?
