Director Edgar Wright Says Ultron Was Never A Part Of His ANT-MAN Movie
We know that Ultron will feature in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, but it has been confirmed that Hank Pym would have no hand in his creation in the sequel. Now, Ant-Man director Edgar Wright confirms that (perhaps unsurprisingly) the A.I. has never been a part of that movie's script.
Marvel announced at San Diego Comic-Con last month that the highly anticipated sequel to The Avengers will be subtitled Age Of Ultron, confirming that the iconic villain will battle Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the Joss Whedon-directed film. Whedon then revealed that Hank Pym, who created the A.I. in the comics, will not feature in the movie and won't even have a hand in his creation. With that in mind, it's rather unsurprising that Ultron is not a part of Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish's Ant-Man script (which will feature Pym).
Speaking with Science Fiction while promoting The World's End, Wright was asked if Ultron was ever a part of the storyline for the Ant-Man movie, responding with, "I cannot really get into that, but umm… I’ll say no. No he wasn’t." Ultron has been widely speculated to have a role in the film, but with him completely out of the picture, who will be the villain? Radioactive Man? Egghead? Stay tuned to CBM for more news as we have it.
Ant-Man is scheduled to hit theaters November 6th, 2015.
