UPDATE 2: X-Men: First Class Next Up for Fox

Tim Pocock, the actor who played young Scott Summers in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, tweets that his next acting gig will be X-Men: First Class.

Producer Lauren Shuler Donner has been at the center of a lot of the recent comic book movie news. However, because of her position, she's not always able to give out all of the information at her disposal. Recently, while promoting the release of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine Blu-Ray DVD, Shuler said that she did not know what the next X-Men project for Fox would be:

"I think there are some wonderful storylines I'd like to pursue in X-Men 4 and 5, but who knows? Obviously, Fox is my partner, so we're in discussions about what will be next."

However, actors are not always as tight-lipped as executives, and twitter makes their musings available to the world. According to a recent tweet from Tim Pocock, the actor who portrayed Scott Summers in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class will be up next:

"currently shooting Australian TV series till February 2010...then X-men first class ;)

UPDATE 1: Well, apparently someone has been playing with Tim Pocock's twitter account, because this was posted today:

"victim of cruel prank.last tweet=NOT me.AM filming Aussie show till2010.no official word on XM:FC but am interested.please post retraction."

Was it really a prank or did Fox come down hard on Pocock for leaking the news? I guess we'll have to wait and see...

UPDATE 2: Lauren Shuler Donner says that there's no truth to Tim Pocock's initial claim and that there's no chance of XMFC shooting in February. She also said that no actors were signed to appear in XMFC, but that all of the young mutants who appeared in XMOW are under option for additional films.

	Personally I'm not looking forward to this. It feels like Fox is stating 'Ok guys, we know we messed this story up, but now we're going to reboot it. Please give us more money.' There are plenty of other character in the Marvel Universe, Give X-Men a few more years (Hopefully when the rights revert back to Marvel) and start fresh. 	i have loved all the x men movies and wolverine. really dont like the idea of this first class thing going on, but hopefully it might surprise us, i think that in first class it would only make sense to keep cyclops close to how he was in the last movies....but defentily give him a much massive part in x 4, and get that sinister rivalry going on. but for future film that have to keep james marsden his parts i the x films were small but he still acted flawlessy. his interprtation of how scott was when jeam died could be any closer to how he was in the comics, i even think maybe wovelrine should take a hike for the x 4, to leave room for scott. 	Im a little disappointed at this news because I really had hoped idiotic Fox might turn around and make a X4 & x5 back to back to save on costs, which is the main reason (along with X3 sucking) the main X-Men movies arent continuing because they cost too much too make. I really wanted to see X4 and X5 fix the problems with the franchise and give the X-Men franchise a proper ending with a battle against Sinsiter and Apocalypse. THEN they could have gone back to the beginning of the X-Men and have a prequel trilogy showing how the team came together and their first battle against Magneto and the brotherhood. They also could have had Shadow King and Hellfire Club. But no, I think Im gonna join the X-Men movie haters because Fox is gonna [frick] this franchise up even more now. It was actually good once. 	It's going to be interesting to see who this first class is. If it's not the original five then I don't think that is gonna go over to well with the fans. The first five students to Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters was a major stepping stone for Marvel Comics. That being said Fox simply has to find a way to put Iceman and Angel in this film. 	I did think he was a good Scott Summers for the 3 minutes we saw him but James Marsden was a better fit. But I get that Tim works for this film because it is about the original X-men when they were young. Also with productions coming up this soon 2011 sounds like it might have a lot of Marvel movies but with a Fox X-men and Spider-man 4(following Spidy 3) how good of a year can it be. Atleast we will still get Kick-Ass and Thor. I would like to see the original X-men like Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Storm, Ice Man and Angel. Ice Man and Angel I already can guess won't be in the movie because of what they did with the original trilogy. 	It's time for Cyclops to shine! I think it would be really good if they took a page out of the X-Men: Animated Series at one stage or another.. Introducing Morph and having the Sentinels kill him.. Then Wolverine blaming Cyclops for leaving him behind.. But that would happen in a later X-Men movie.. Flashbacks perhaps? It would give the Wolverine/Cyclops relationship more depth as they're usually just fighting over Jean Grey?!! lol@GUNSMITH! You're right man.. They obviously never thought this through!
