Seth Rogen on Green Hornet PLUS More Pics

Seth Rogen says that he's become someone he "would make fun of."

The fan community has been extremely critical of funnyman Seth Rogen as the lead in the live-action The Green Hornet movie. Many simply can not get past the formerly hefty actor playing a superhero.

However, now that pictures from the set reveal that Seth took the role seriously enough to get into "fighting shape," support for Rogen is growing. If you're still not sold on Rogen, you're not alone; even Seth admits to not liking himself sometimes.

"I've been eating better and training - and hating myself for it. I feel like a sell-out, I feel lame, I feel like a guy I would make fun of."

Rogen got into shape by dieting and working with a personal trainer.

"I go there real early in the morning. He tells me what to do, and I go home and go to sleep, and it's like it never even happened."

	I think he looks great for Green Hornet. At first i hated the idea, but the pictures above show that he doesn't look that bad. 	I just don't buy Rogen as GH. Sorry. He is dedicated and he is looking better, but honestly his acting style is either going to come off TOO camp or TOO serious. GH however IS a hard one to cast. Diehard fans would be hard pressed finding a good actor for the lead role. Casting Kato is a nightmare. (I wish Tony Ja's English was better...lol) All this added up and I just have to wait until we have some real meaty footage to know what to think. In the roll type footage, not action sequences. 	the gun looks a little weird, I'll grant you that, that's why we have to wait for the trailer, I mean this is early on to be seeing anything at all it's like the second week of filming do you guy remember seeing pics the second week on set with spiderman or transformers or batman? 	Seth really looks good as GH here, to me! I'm really looking forward to this movie 'cause I like Seth and I like GH and Kato! GH was always a sort of everyman kinda hero who had this incredible sidekick to save him all the time! That is part of the charm of GH & Kato! He fights crime 'cause he's the descendant of the Lone Ranger and has a real love for seeing justice done but he's a bit of a nebbish and needs his partner to be the go to guy with all the fighting skills! Plus he's got all that kooky kinda tech that works but is a little on the nerdish side! I really love that car and the way they have it outfitted for this film, it looks simply lethal and dangerous! 	the movie, from the little bits of information and the few set pics i have seen, looks like it might not be a total disaster. however, i am not willing to commit to it as something i am excited about seeing. i think seth rogan is all wrong to play the green hornet. the role calls for an adult seeming man, a real grown-up...and rogan seems so much a child. i expect he will seem like he is in an snl skit of the green hornet, making fun of himself and the character. britt reid is not bruce wayne, by any stretch, but he's not that weird kid who sat alone at lunch picking his nose in high school either. singer made the same mistake in casting a human i-pod playing a taking back sunday video as superman...and look how that turned out. who knows though? i suppose i'll have to wait to find out. in addition, yes, rogan is well known as a dumpy, lardy last one picked for recess sports-type. and, yes, he lost some weight. that's great, i'm happy for him, but the public is going way overboard in their estimations of the kind of shape he got into. just because he looks a bit better than he did before does not make him in good shape or look the part of a man who spends his evenings battling the criminal underworld. the green hornet is not any great force in terms of hand-to-hand combat, but, still, he ought to seem a bit more functionally tough than seth rogan. point is, seth looks good, for seth rogan, but, then again, your average guy on the street still has nothing to fear from good for seth rogan. this is a classic case of a d student being given cake and compliments for getting a b- on a book report, while an honor student would be thought slipping and under-performing. inlovewiththeregencyelf - 10/12/2009, 6:20 AM
