Green Lantern Release Date Set

Superhero slug-fest: Green Lantern debuts right between Spider-Man 4 and The First Avenger: Captain America.
DC Comics' highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of its popular Green Lantern comic book is one step closer to becoming a reality with the establishment of a release date. The Emerald Guardian will be soaring into theaters on June 17, 2011, placing it squarely in the heart of the summer movie-going season and directly between the releases of Sony's Spider-Man 4 in May and The First Avenger: Captain America in July.

Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) directs, with Ryan Reynolds (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) starring as the most popular Green Lantern, Hal "Highball" Jordan. There are no other cast announcements at this time. It is rumored that Sinestro, once a Green Lantern like Hal Jordan, will feature as the prominent villain of the movie, but there is no confirmation.

Sweet. Now THAT, my friend, is good news :)
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 10:46 PM
Gonna be a good summer.
ClintEastwood - 10/4/2009, 10:49 PM
CORRECTION: I originally stated GL debuted between Captain America and Avengers, but I meant to say Spider-Man 4 and Captain America. Avengers has been pushed back to 2012.
Brent Sprecher - 10/4/2009, 10:51 PM
OMG, I LOVE RYAN SOOO MUCH!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!!!
NataliaRomanov - 10/4/2009, 10:53 PM
Four CBMs back to back? That is how it should be :) If one of them turns out to be a crapfest. . Lo and Behold! Another one comes out two weeks later!

They can destroy ALL of our hopes and dreams in only one summer! Boom!
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 10:55 PM
Multi: Wow, why so negative? Maybe they're all going to rock hard!
NataliaRomanov - 10/4/2009, 11:01 PM
@Natalia: Wow, apparently sarcasm doesn't translate well over a post!
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:02 PM
AAARGH! Why does it keep double-posting my messages?

@Multi: Oh,okay! Lets B + !
NataliaRomanov - 10/4/2009, 11:02 PM
It likes your messages so much it wants us to read them twice :)
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:04 PM
@Brent: You still online bud?
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:05 PM
@Multi: Yeah, what's up, Rick?
Brent Sprecher - 10/4/2009, 11:07 PM
HAHAHAHA I was hoping it would be you!!!! Now I can sleep in peace :)
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:08 PM
Seriously though, I need your two cents. Check out this battle-thing between Silver Surfer and Sentry:

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/Poniverse/news/?a=10659

I think I missed something about Sentry's powers. I'm getting alot of info from people that I can't find online. Did I miss something? Maybe I'm not caught up on canon.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:12 PM
@Multi: Okay, I'll check it out. Give me a minute. BTW, I messed up the release dates: Avengers was pushed back to 2012. That still leaves us with 3 CBM's in 3 months, though, which isn't bad.
Brent Sprecher - 10/4/2009, 11:15 PM
Summer 2011

Spider-Man 4
Thor
Green Lantern
Transformers 3
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II
The First Avenger: Captain America
Third Batman(Hopefully)

Sounds pretty good.
kenny38606 - 10/4/2009, 11:17 PM
I'll take it, man. We're talking about three FLAGSHIP movies, about A list characters. They need to take their time and do it right.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:18 PM
@Nati: Did you give it to me? My post just popped up twice too!

@kenny: Heck, yeah!
Brent Sprecher - 10/4/2009, 11:18 PM
The Silver Surfer wins. The Silver Surfer has the "power cosmic," which includes Sentry's "power of a million exploding suns" by definition. All of the Sentry's powers can be countered or defeated by the Surfer, including his ability to exist ahead of time, since the Surfer can time travel at will.

The only thing that really holds the Surfer back from becoming an @$$-kicker is his own morality, which Poni threw out the window when posing this debate.

Furthermore, Sentry is just plain unstable. The guy's a split personality who can rarely put more than a couple sentences together.
Brent Sprecher - 10/4/2009, 11:32 PM
Great, great, great summer line-up of movies!
Bijous - 10/4/2009, 11:33 PM
@Brent: Thanks for clearing that up, I thought I missed something.

Did I tell you I've got my GL audition set up for November 2nd? Then sent me a fancy letterhead with my name all embossed and glittery :)
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:34 PM
TWO FLIPPIN YEARS!?!?

It'll take another two years to get WW and/Flash off the ground. I hope you don't misunderstand my appreciation of seeing the DC heroes finally making it to the silver screen, but I don't want to be forty by that point! I mean, yeah, take your time. But...hurry up! LOL
Phinehas - 10/4/2009, 11:34 PM
@Rick: Suuuure you do...
Brent Sprecher - 10/4/2009, 11:35 PM
@Phienehas: Yeah, I know, it seems like forever! What's coming out next summer that can tide us over?
Bijous - 10/4/2009, 11:36 PM
@Bijous: You mean besides IM2, right?
NataliaRomanov - 10/4/2009, 11:39 PM
@Brent: Hmmm, guess I didn't tell you. They put a request out to active duty Air Force personnel to audition for about 20 extra slots (only 4 of which are speaking roles) in an upcoming WB movie. . . no name attached. I sent my prettiest picture and application in about 2 months ago.

The last time we got this request was for Transformers 2 and one of my buddies snagged a spot. A few years back they filmed the Mercy Reef pilot at my old base and I was lucky enough to get some screen time (approximately 9 seconds. . . give or take).

I would send you a copy of the letters I received if it wasn't for the friggin' eight page non-disclosure I had to sign LOL
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:39 PM
IM2, and Thor...ONLY! LOL
Phinehas - 10/4/2009, 11:39 PM
I remember, a few years ago, when there were about 3 geek movies out a year. They would all come out on May-July and nothing else for the rest of the year. Now it seems like they're trying to top themselves every year.2010 looks really good for comic book/comic book type films.

MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:42 PM
I don't know what's up with the system guys, but I see that nearly every post is doubling up. I'll send a note to IT Nate about it.
Brent Sprecher - 10/4/2009, 11:46 PM
@Multi: Oh, no! Please don't start posting boobies...
NataliaRomanov - 10/4/2009, 11:47 PM

Phinehas - 10/4/2009, 11:47 PM
It happens when you refresh and the window asks you to retry or cancel. Either way, it adds a new post.
Phinehas - 10/4/2009, 11:48 PM
Natalia, my dear, I do not need to post errant pictures of women exposing themselves to keep you entertained. . .That's what my charming wit and sparkling personality are for!
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:49 PM
@Brent: One for the funny pages:

MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:50 PM
Sparkling?
Phinehas - 10/4/2009, 11:50 PM
@Phin: I sparkle dammit!

Guys, you can avoid the double posting by hitting the address bar instead of the refresh button. Unless you edit a comment after it posts. . . then you're screwed.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:52 PM
@Multi: Nice.

I used to love the Surfer, but he's so powerful that his stories bore me.

Try to find the Moebius Surfer comics: those are friggin' awesome!
Brent Sprecher - 10/4/2009, 11:52 PM
I wasn't asking, so please don't tell...
Phinehas - 10/4/2009, 11:53 PM
@Brent: Moebius, you say? I'll check them out this week. I just cracked open my old Infinity Gauntlet/Watch series. Ahhh the memories!
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:55 PM
Thrilled to say the least, but didn't they already have a release date or two for this movie? What's the hold up

BTW, Lady and gentlemen, We are THE NIGHT SHIFT!
supermarioworldE - 10/4/2009, 11:58 PM
At least the overtime is good :)
MultiPurposePoni - 10/4/2009, 11:59 PM
@supermarioworldE: Awww, you included me? YOU are so nice!!!
NataliaRomanov - 10/4/2009, 11:59 PM
Tra la la, destroying worlds (yawns). Nobody gets me. I'm like the Dexter of marvel heroes...
Phinehas - 10/5/2009, 12:00 AM

Brent Sprecher - 10/5/2009, 12:04 AM
I gotta say, my biggest disappointment with FF2's portrayal of the Surfer story wasn't the Galactus cloud, it was the whole "the power comes from his board" shtick.

Fail.

At least the Earth-sucking cloud made sense.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 12:04 AM
@Multi: Yeah, that was ONE of the problems.
Brent Sprecher - 10/5/2009, 12:05 AM
Cool. Hope its good. Can't wait for a trailer. ^_^
and yes the Galactus cloud did it for me, I actually yelled in the Theatre, "Are you [frick]ing kidding me? Thats it I'm out" and then I left.
Hey I redid my Daughter Nature so if anyone wants to read and give me feedback I would appreciate it. Thanks!
InstigatorGIRL - 10/5/2009, 12:06 AM
Those movies are pure cheddar. I only liked Johnny. Dr. Doom was the worst!
NataliaRomanov - 10/5/2009, 12:06 AM
Cheddar, huh? that's being nice. I'd categorize it as: Fromunda
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 12:07 AM
Gross.
NataliaRomanov - 10/5/2009, 12:08 AM
Thats exciting. Multipurpose Fromunda is right......Fantastic four made my ears bleed
Set2Fallfirst - 10/5/2009, 12:09 AM
I get that the FF are the "family" heroes and everything, but they dumbed it down way too much for my liking. I agree with Natalia, Dr. Doom was pure garbage!
Brent Sprecher - 10/5/2009, 12:09 AM
Oh, ho, we have a superstar in the house!!! What's up S2FF?!?
Brent Sprecher - 10/5/2009, 12:10 AM
@S2F: You got off easy. . . I still wet the bed

@Natalia: Gross is my middle name. Siegfried was taken.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 12:10 AM
I'm glad they are rebooting FF! I cross my fingers and hope they actually do it right this time but this is FOX we're talking about here! I don't have my hopes up!
DDD - 10/5/2009, 12:15 AM
I guess S2FF just came and went...

RE: FF movies: Also, When I was a kid, Thing was one of my favorite characters. I'm still one of only like 10 people that's read the entire Thing series. So, to get to my point, what bothered me is how Thing was written as a complete clown.
Brent Sprecher - 10/5/2009, 12:17 AM
@DDD: Apparently you don't know how studios are treating CBMs these days. It goes something like this:

Mr. Johnson at Fox stands up in a meeting and says: "I've got a great idea! After the rebooted Fantastic Four gets released. . we'll immediately reboot it AGAIN, just to make sure EVERYONE'S happy!"

He gets a raise. . . we get suicidal.

Roll credits
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 12:18 AM
More Marvel/DC shenanigans. At least, another promo for more shenanigans. Keep it up ItsJustSomeRandomGuy (andGal)! Waitin for the goods...

Phinehas - 10/5/2009, 12:21 AM
@Brent: All the characters besides Johnny were dumb-ed down. Johnny was a cheesy character to begin with, so they didn't bother with him.

Reed is supposed to be a serious, pensive, uber genius. . . not a geeky, dancing fool with an crush on his palm pilot.

Could they have at LEAST picked a blonde girl for Sue? C'mon now, the only thing faker than Jessica Alba's blue eyes and blonde hair was her angry face (she just looked constipated)

Aww, you turned your Thing orange.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 12:24 AM
'night, peeps!
NataliaRomanov - 10/5/2009, 12:24 AM
Damn. You guys type fast! I make a sandwich, and there's already like 15 posts!

@Multipurpose, I disagree, BOTH the Galactus cloud and the power from board thing was lame

@NataliaRomanov, Say hi to Ryan for me!

@Brent, If you think the thing was a misinterpreted character, you should see the spiderman films! I don't think he cracked one joke in the entire trilogy.

@DDD, Me neither! I really want a good Deadpool movie as well, but I don't think it's possible after Wolverine. Fox SUCKS!!!

@Phineas, I wonder if they'll really have Rorschach and deadpool this time around.

@Set2fall, Only your ears?

@InstigatorGIRL, Hopefully a trailer will be out before the next Olympics!

supermarioworldE - 10/5/2009, 12:36 AM
@super: What was so bad about the Galactus cloud? It stayed true to canon and the effects looked good.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 12:38 AM
"It is rumored that Sinestro, once a Green Lantern like Hal Jordan, will feature as the prominent villain of the movie, but there is no confirmation of this."

Dude! The first draft of the script has been leaked online for OVER A YEAR!!
slimybug - 10/5/2009, 12:41 AM
@Multi: I know you're not even addressing this at me, but...seriously? You need to ask? Galactus is a big friggin' dude in a purple suit. That's his deal. Who wants to see anyone fight a space cloud?

@slimy: It doesn't matter. There's no way of knowing how closely they'll stick to that script. Until it's confirmed, it's not confirmed.

And...if you have a copy of the script, can you send me one (or a link)?
Brent Sprecher - 10/5/2009, 12:42 AM
@multipurpose, No galactus, that's my problem. We got stuck with a cloud, which meant no battles. That might have been our one chance to finally see galactus, and they ruined it. It doesn't even matter if they were gonna put him in a third movie, cause now, they're rebooting.

@Brent, I see you commented seconds before me.......Damn!
supermarioworldE - 10/5/2009, 12:42 AM
@supermarioworldE: That doesn't invalidate your comment at all! Galactus is a dude. A big, purple, crazy-hat-wearing dude. With glowing eyes.
Brent Sprecher - 10/5/2009, 12:46 AM
@Brent, Well put. Althogh, "Hat" doesn't quite define that thing on his head!
supermarioworldE - 10/5/2009, 12:50 AM
Yeah, but it sounded funnier (in my head) than saying "crazy-helmet-wearing" so...
Brent Sprecher - 10/5/2009, 12:52 AM
@Brent and super: Here are the facts first -

"As a living force of nature set between the conceptual entities Eternity and Death, Galactus' true form cannot be perceived by most beings, and so each species perceives Galactus in a form they can comprehend, usually in a form similar to that of their own species. However, he has consciously appeared as a humanoid star at certain occasions."

So his form can be perceived as pretty much anything (even a chinchilla). Since no one from Earth was close enough to physically "see" him, who knows the shape he was traveling in?

Regarding a Silver Surfer spin-off from FF:RSS, Straczynski said that the movie "picks up right where the FF movie left off and it's designed to answer the questions that were asked in the movie but really weren't dealt with there." He also said "You don't want to sort of blow out something that big and massive for one quick shot in the first movie."

Weta Studios, the CGI guys, convinced the studio to include that outline of Galatus' helmet, to help build up the sequel.

My opinion - I personally think that if they wanted to follow canon, they should have introduced Galactus at the halfway point of the movie. That way they would have time to showcase him as we all wanted to see:

galactus Pictures, Images and Photos

Would we really want to see an epic battle between these two for five minutes at the end of the movie? Not at all. They spent too much time focusing on Doom and the freaking wedding.

Don't think I'm defending the movie in it's entirety, I just don't think the cloud was a bad idea, but it shouldn't have been the only representation of Galatus on screen.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 12:53 AM
@Brent Sprecher, he he, it's all good.

@Muti, I would have been more tolerant with the galactus cloud if they were at least MAKING a third FF movie or silver surfer. This reboot crap seems to be taking marvel by storm unfortunately.
supermarioworldE - 10/5/2009, 1:01 AM
@super I know, man. As much as I didn't like the first two, they should just finish off the trilogy (bring on big, bad Galactus and the Ultimate Nulifier). Ther'e always time for reboots later on.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 1:03 AM
Aparently, Fox doesn't have a "later on". They'll do anything for money. Why else would they have the cleveland show?
supermarioworldE - 10/5/2009, 1:11 AM
If Marvel could ever get their rights back to X-men, FF, Daredevil and Spidey they need to reboot and bring all the movies in-line with Marvel canon!
DDD - 10/5/2009, 1:14 AM
@DDD Disney needs to step up with that big checkbook of theirs and make it happen.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 1:17 AM
One would think that the studio's would be a little smarter and space these f**king movies a little further apart especially when there's a damn recession going on. I'm still pissed at Marvel for throwing Spiderman so close to Capt America with Thor also in the mix. Stretch them out, you have a whole year what the f**k is the problem? The movies will most likely gross more money that way. Why does everything have to be a summer one two punch or in this case a summer four punch. This isn't network tv battling for ratings, these are movies that cost money to be seen, give people a little breather before you bash em again.
ASSASSIN666 - 10/5/2009, 1:24 AM
Wait. . you guys PAY to see these movies? C'mon, use the theater's back door, why else would it be there?
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 1:27 AM
No kidding Assassin@! Give us just a little breathing room, please! Greedy, greedy, greedy! Oh, well I guess they figure I will dig deep for my CBM's and they are right dag nab it!!!
DDD - 10/5/2009, 1:27 AM
DDD- It adds up at light speed, dinner, popcorn, sodas, two kids, the Mrs. Every time shit like this happens my budget for the month has a nervous breakdown, on top of the fact of my bluray and video game habits. I think I need to plant a money tree in the backyard.
ASSASSIN666 - 10/5/2009, 1:37 AM
@ASSASSIN You forgot babysitting costs for those movies the kiddos can't go to. Money tree doesn't work. It only gave me a bad rash and a call from the Secret Service when I tried to use the leaves as legal tender,
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 1:40 AM
I had a money tree once but the IRS came and dug it up and confiscated it! Damm! I miss that tree!
DDD - 10/5/2009, 1:47 AM
It's horrendous guys! The cost of living is killing us all!
DDD - 10/5/2009, 1:48 AM
Multi- I thought the C.I.A had no domestic charter, then again there's always the good ol' F.B.I and I'm Italian so there's another reason to come for me. My door should be kicked in about 4,3,2, oh shit!
ASSASSIN666 - 10/5/2009, 1:49 AM

supermarioworldE - 10/5/2009, 2:16 AM

I'm 300 lbs. of mostly muscle. I was born a bit stocky and I weight-lift! lol
DDD - 10/5/2009, 2:21 AM
Hope the acting career is moving along for you Set2fall! I wish you all the best in that endeavor! I'm a trained scriptwriter and screenwriter but I still haven't sold a spec script in Hollywood yet! But I'll keep striving! That's the point, always keep striving forward!
DDD - 10/5/2009, 2:24 AM
word.
supermarioworldE - 10/5/2009, 2:31 AM
Those f**ks owe me a new door, DDD- that's the best advice given, we usually make one step and get knocked back three, but we keep going. Human bulldozers!
ASSASSIN666 - 10/5/2009, 2:34 AM
I'm kind of a Caterpillar D-10 of Human bulldozers and it's a good thing or I woulda been wiped out a long time ago! :D
DDD - 10/5/2009, 2:46 AM
Great summer 's ahead......i hope :)

Nothing wrong with that! ; )

Damn @ BRENT @ your header made it look like they was a week apart or something lol.
LEEE777 - 10/5/2009, 3:44 AM
2011 for GL?... god damnit, that only means the deadpool movie will be out in 2012/2013 which basically means, we'll all be dead by then anyways.. whats the point.

Not happy.

LEEE777 - 10/5/2009, 3:47 AM
Man, this is going to be one hell of a year for CBM's! :)

MULTI: I hated the first two Fantastic Four movies - between the botched origins, the crappy Dr. Doom and cloud Galactus (and thats just three of the problems I had with the movies) I definitely now think they need to reboot the franchise...however, if Fox are going to be in charge of that then I dont see the point of a reboot - they screwed up the first two so badly we all know they'd only go and screw up a reboot as well! :(
joshw24 - 10/5/2009, 3:51 AM
COMIC BOOK MOVIES ARE EXTREME MONEY MAKERS NOW, I THINK PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR ESCAPE, OR HEROES TO SAVE THEM..ESPECIALLY NOWADAYS
GUNSMITH - 10/5/2009, 3:51 AM
Josh@ i think the FF movies had the right tone they just didnt have any real direction :)

Gunsmith@ very true :)

FF should have been more serious of a movie, it was almost like a spoof. Doom was a total loss, this was the villain that inspired Darth Vader for Christ sake. How they screwed up so bad is beyond me, at what point does someone from Marvel step in to say you're f**king up our characters please stop. Fantastic Four was supposed to be the first family of comics, and deserved an awesome movie. First we get that unreleased abortion made way back when, and then two big budget movies that disappointed all of us
ASSASSIN666 - 10/5/2009, 4:13 AM
I can understand why they did some things in FF (not that i agree) but WTF was with Doom....the greatest villain imo ;(
teabag - 10/5/2009, 4:33 AM
teabag- Imagine if Doom had been done right, he could have crossed over into Spiderman, Iron Man, Avengers. What a thought, and what a let down.
ASSASSIN666 - 10/5/2009, 5:05 AM
ASSASSIN@ hell yeah but ive just had a better thought..................what if they did an incredicle Doom, perfect in every way...we wouldnt get to see him in those other movies cus Fox would own him......so now im glad we got a soap opera Doom ;P
teabag - 10/5/2009, 5:20 AM
Awesome! I can't wait to see the Flash!

I mean, Green Lantern!
BmanHall - 10/5/2009, 6:09 AM
Bman@ lol :)
teabag - 10/5/2009, 6:22 AM
Doom was not from the USA, but he was in the FF movie. Yes, he should be like Darth Vader, ominous and scary and mega-powerful! He's the despot of his own country for Pete's sake!

Reed Richards is a powerful persona, himself, not a weasely bumbling dancin' fool! He should be played by someone a little older and more mature! That is a fact! He's just as much a commanding figure as Doom!

Sue Richards is a more mature person, herself and led the FF all by herself before, in the comics. She is tall and very blond Nordic! Not a thin little brown-skinned girl with her skin died pale, too-bright blue contacts, and her hair looking barbie doll-phony!

Johnny is very blond and Nordic too. The surname, "Storm", has a Scandinavian derivation. That is a certain fact! And he's not a crass shallow corporate sell-out either. He's loyal and serious about the FF and protecting his sister!

And Ben Grimm/Thing is a big bruiser of a guy even before he transforms into stone, not a 5'9" actor! And he's not a goofy buffoon like he was portrayed in the FF movies.

I don't feel they got one thing right in the FF movies, not ONE damm thing!

DDD - 10/5/2009, 6:40 AM
Damn, do you you guys just start reading posts halfway down a page and then run with it?

I never said the FF movies were good! The first thing I said last night was:

"I gotta say, my biggest disappointment with FF2's portrayal of the Surfer story wasn't the Galactus cloud, it was the whole "the power comes from his board" shtick.

Fail.

At least the Earth-sucking cloud made sense. "

Then I said: "All the characters besides Johnny were dumb-ed down. Johnny was a cheesy character to begin with, so they didn't bother with him.

Reed is supposed to be a serious, pensive, uber genius. . . not a geeky, dancing fool with an crush on his palm pilot.

Could they have at LEAST picked a blonde girl for Sue? C'mon now, the only thing faker than Jessica Alba's blue eyes and blonde hair was her angry face (she just looked constipated)"

When I was questioned by SUPER and BRENT about my Galatus-cloud comment, I backed up my reasoning.

FIN

MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 6:52 AM
I read that earlier Multi@, I was just adding to what you said but I guess I kinda used some of your words! I meant no plagerism! Sorry!
DDD - 10/5/2009, 6:59 AM
I would have to agree with Assassin that cramming too many of the movies we love too close together will hurt box office opportunities. I'd do the old Mid-May/Memorial Day-July 4-Labor Day spread to release the big boxoffice comc book movies. It would be nice for the studios to quit trying to crap out the July 4 weekend with movies like Hancock (come ON!!!).

And why not Captain America: First Avenger for July 4???

DDD as well as Assassin have the critiques of the FF movies correct. I'm thinking the whole dang series needs to be redone. Anyone know when FF rights revert to Marvel? I would be so jazzed othear Viktor von Doom with a thick Eastern European accent and using MAGIC, that's what made him so hard to defeat by the FF!

AND DAMMIT WHERE IS MY SOLOMON KANE US RELEASE DATE??????
DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT!!!!

I want a Doctor Strange movie too...and bring on Scarlet Witch!!
bropous - 10/5/2009, 7:08 AM
Good to know.
Bandrews1 - 10/5/2009, 7:22 AM
JOSH @ Seriously the FF movies are one of the better superhero movies FOX has done (Apart from DOOM) as is DD!!

SN'ORIGINS is ten times worst than both of them!!

You are right though, FOX will [frick] up any reboots they make, that why they should leave 'em alone till atleast MARVEL themselves can make them!

I hope SPIDEY 4 is much better too, apart from SANDMAN, SPIDEY 3 was very poor! I love VENOM but they [frick]ed him up in that movie.

Atleast we've got THOR CAP and AVENGERS plus IRON MAN with MARVEL though i blame MARVEL for FOX anyway lol.

DDD@ Having Captain America come out on the fourth of july would be such a good marketing decision, everybody would be waving flags and listening to bruce springsteen, so patriotic, haha.
ClintEastwood - 10/5/2009, 7:45 AM
@DDD: You plagiarizing bastard! I hope you'e still thinking about me in that Dazzler costume!!
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 8:12 AM
Multi: Like DDD I was just also adding my opinion to what you were saying up above!

DDD: Your points about the characters in the FF movies are pretty much spot on to how I felt about the movies and how badly the characters were portrayed!

teabag: Bad direction definitely didnt help but neither did bad writing or acting so id have to say that they were a total fail for me!

LEE: Though Daredevil wasnt too bad, ever other Fox movie has been awful IMO!

ASSASSIN666: Yeah, a spoof is actually the best word to describe how bad the FF films were! :)
joshw24 - 10/5/2009, 8:13 AM
June 17!!!!
gonna crushed between Cars 2 n Kung Fu Panda 2...hope it recovers its budget within a week...as in foreign markets it wont stand a chance in front of the PG rated animated sure shots. For the records ICE AGe 3 ,a animated sureshot is the third biggest movie of all time when it comes to outside US collections at $680 mill outside US.They Should have gone for a december release as thought earlier.
bullsize - 10/5/2009, 8:20 AM
Am I REALLY the only one on here that didn't think the Galactus cloud was awful?

(read my comment above before if you're wondering)

Also, I think the Surfer looked 100% better when he wasn't all chromed out. The flat gray color actually looked great!
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 8:21 AM
@Multi: Did you even sleep last night? What time zone are you in? ;D
NataliaRomanov - 10/5/2009, 8:29 AM
I can see The Green Lantern outgrossing Spidey 4 in the BO

If Spidey 4 has a terrible and boring Kraven and Spidey hunting Lizard storyline.

I can picture the stupid and lame tagline for it "The hunt is on"

If that storylines happens, then Spidey 4 will probably gross just 120 million in the USA

I don't mind Lizard, but keep Kraven OUT of a Spidey film

He is a VERY boring, non marketable character.
SpideyFan1982 - 10/5/2009, 8:31 AM
@Natalia: Eastern US, I only sleep about 3 hours a night
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 8:32 AM
@Multi: Yeah you're the only one who thought Galactus' giant fart cloud was cool. ;P
NataliaRomanov - 10/5/2009, 8:33 AM
Fox was going to cast someone as Galactus but they couldn't find a skintight black leather costume that large.
Hawksblueyes - 10/5/2009, 8:35 AM
@SpideyFan1982: How about some grrl power in Spider-Man? Where's the Black Cat, hm?
NataliaRomanov - 10/5/2009, 8:35 AM
Is this a Green Lantern thread, a Silver Surfer thread or a Spider-Man thread? Sheesh!

Fantastic Four: Both films suck balls. Terrible shite! Reed dancing with rubber legs was animation from the 80s. Nip/Tuck Von Doom was a douche. Chiklis was a cartoon. Surfer gets his power from his board? Lame. Galactus? Lamer.

Spider-Man: 70's Show Eric killed this franchise! Gwen Stacy actress was god-awful! Might as well bring on the clones...

Green Lantern: Reynolds better not act like a corn dog in this movie like he does in all of his other movies or I'll find him...
Dr. Donald Draper - 10/5/2009, 8:44 AM
Ryan Reynolds for Sinestro
Kratos6 - 10/5/2009, 8:44 AM
What?!? Still talking about Fantastic Four? Crazy...
Bijous - 10/5/2009, 8:55 AM
Ok. . new topic. .

Does Luke Cage wear boxers or briefs?
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 9:06 AM
lol I just hope this doesn't steal box office $$ from Cap. That's my one concern.

I can't tell you how bad I want that one to be a smash hit lol

I am excited about GL too
DarthMulder - 10/5/2009, 9:14 AM
@ MultiPurposePoni: He goes commando. I mean, I heard he goes commando... =\
BmanHall - 10/5/2009, 9:15 AM
@natali
"GIRLPOWER"...hilarious.Have ya forgotten the fate of Catwoman n Electra.Girls in movies r not meant for ass kicking but.....
bullsize - 10/5/2009, 9:31 AM
@bullsize: Yes, the Catwoman movie sucked, but Michelle's Catwoman was awesome!

@luffy: That's just a fan pic of the GL costume.

@Multi: A purple thong. Luke Cage wears a purple thong. I used to work for Danny Rand and Cage was always sauntering around the Rand company locker room in that damn thing...
Bijous - 10/5/2009, 9:34 AM
@luffy Please tell me you're joking
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 9:35 AM
@Bijous Wow. . . and I thought my Dazzler costume was revealing

@Natalia Kirsten Dunst's MJ playing a damsel in distress for three movies isn't girl power?
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 9:36 AM
@Multi: Does Dazzler even have a costume? I thought she just dressed like Madonna. You know who has one of the simplest, yet sexiest outfits? Dagger from Clock & Dagger. It's so simple, but that simple chest cut-out makes it so sexy.

Bijous - 10/5/2009, 9:40 AM
@Bijous You're right, that's a nice costume. No wonder it's all dark and shady around Cloak's nether regions. Nothing says 'awkward' like a cartoon woody.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 9:42 AM
ROTFL!!!
Bijous - 10/5/2009, 9:43 AM
@Bijous: HEY! Remember the 80's??

dazzler Pictures, Images and Photos

Check out her headband. Now I know where Luke got his thong!
MultiPurposePoni - 10/5/2009, 9:45 AM
this is FANTASTIC news.... GREAT pics of Galactus they can def pull it off....

@ phineas - Don't Fret my friend ... think of it this way ... they could even start looking for Flash after January and WW ... have a script ... just need the stars and then they can go into development ... And have the Flash and WW out the year after ... hopefully be for the world ends 2012... ( que in scary music)
thegreek - 10/5/2009, 9:49 AM
By the way, this release date has been set for a while now. I don't know why this is being treated as news.
slimybug - 10/5/2009, 9:59 AM
Dazzler was kinda cool for a little while. Early Silvestri era. I have no idea what they've done with her recently.
