The first official trailer for director Kevin Munroe's (TMNT) new movie, Dylan Dog: Dead of Night has just been released. Oh, you've already seen a trailer? True, an unofficial promo trailer was leaked online several months ago, and several Italian-dubbed trailers have previously been released, but this is the first official U.S. theatrical trailer for the big screen adaptation of the mega-popular Italian comic book series Dylan Dog created by Tiziano Sclavi that stars Brandon "Superman" Routh as Dylan Dog, a paranormal investigator with the ability to see the supernatural creatures hiding in plain sight all around us.

Tired of the waking nightmare that his life has become, Dylan Dog packs his bags and moves to New Orleans to try to find some peace. However, a series of events involving a missing artifact, a beautiful heiress and a brutal murder conspire to drag him back into the world of the undead. Sam Huntington, Taye Diggs, Peter Stormare and Anita Briem also star.

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night opens April 29th!

Official or unofficial, it is still painful to watch the monotone and uncharismatic Routh try to act.
Angelus - 3/4/2011, 5:27 AM
I will watch it.
bsprecher - 3/4/2011, 5:28 AM
I know, I know, Routh is stiff, the monsters are dorky and the voiceover is t-e-r-r-i-b-l-e, but...just like Angelus, I too will watch this.
SupermansBeard - 3/4/2011, 5:32 AM
uh...well I...hmm...maybe...no...oh I got it! FAIL
Ranger14 - 3/4/2011, 5:37 AM
Well, it will probably end up being one of those that I just can't seem to bring up to the top three of my Netflix queue. I'd think I would rather watch Dean Cain in a made for SyFy movie...which is reeeeeally stretching it :-p
marvel72 - 3/4/2011, 5:41 AM
i think i'd rather watch this than men in black 3.

brandon routh for wonderman.
InFamouslyCool - 3/4/2011, 5:45 AM
a comedy? this cant be for real.
bsprecher - 3/4/2011, 5:48 AM
Yeah, it seems like a poor man's Constantine to me, but it looks bad enough to be good.

@InFamouslyCool: "comedy-tinged horror thriller"
Ceejay - 3/4/2011, 5:50 AM
Looks pretty faithful to the original comic, too bad its not a popular enough comic for people to be that interested in the film. I'll check it out definitely tho, Routh was cool in Scott Pilgrim and looks the part on this.
bsprecher - 3/4/2011, 5:50 AM
@marvel72: I agree with you on that. MIB movies blow. Actually, pretty much all of Will Smith's movies blow. Bad Boys, Independence Day, Hancock, I Robot, I Am Legend...has he made any good movies?
ShadowMan - 3/4/2011, 5:50 AM
Looks better than Superman Returns.
bsprecher - 3/4/2011, 5:50 AM
@Ceejay: I did like Routh's super-vegan role in Scott Pilgrim. He was pretty badass.
Aztlan - 3/4/2011, 5:55 AM
Routh is more muscular than in Superman Returns!

I'll pass it though.
Freedom - 3/4/2011, 5:58 AM
It dont look too bad for a TV series.. but a movie? I may just catch it on HBO when it comes out. IMO

For some reason I really dont like Sam Huntington as an actor.. I tried watching Being Human but he kills it for me..
bsprecher - 3/4/2011, 6:02 AM
@Freedom: I agree. He's a lamer version of Shia LaBeouf IMO.

It is kind of funny that he was Jimmy Olsen in Superman Returns, though, considering he's Routh's sidekick in this, too.
InFamouslyCool - 3/4/2011, 6:34 AM
this looks like a straight to DVD movies you find on one of those free-movie site weeks after its release (you had no idea of).
JackBauer - 3/4/2011, 6:40 AM
Looks like a fun movie. I'll check it out at Redbox.
DetBullock - 3/4/2011, 6:41 AM
It doesn't look like Dylan Dog at all: it looks like a sort of "Man in Black with monsters".
They're doing the same things they did to Hellblazer, possibly worse...
Akercocke - 3/4/2011, 6:49 AM
Stiff contest: Routh vs. Keanu . Who wins?
thesymbiote - 3/4/2011, 6:55 AM
@Akercocke

No one can ever beat "Whoa"

SupermansBeard - 3/4/2011, 7:10 AM
@bryanferryfan I don't like people like you. But I like your comment.
superdog - 3/4/2011, 7:10 AM
i might check it out. its coming out the same day as Fast Five so it will get crushed at the box office. maybe ill sneak in after i watch fast five
Geeksiah - 3/4/2011, 7:12 AM
straight to video, but on purpose or not kinda funny
SpideyQuad - 3/4/2011, 7:34 AM
He can do Wonderman, yeah I can see it. I think I might see this, looks like it has some potential
AlexDeLarge87 - 3/4/2011, 7:40 AM
This movie is just a hollow shell of the real Dylan Dog.
Stumblin - 3/4/2011, 7:56 AM
It's like a poor man's Hellboy.
Gattsu - 3/4/2011, 9:35 AM
Lol, ummm yeah, why IS Bradon so buff in this film, uhhh shouldn't he have have physcially looked like that for Superman lol? Well anyway, I'm going to see this movie when it comes out. I support most cbm when they come out just off of general purpose alone. And at least this is a MUCH better trailer (visually) and the special affects don't look so corny like the first trailer.
thegreek - 3/4/2011, 9:51 AM
I'll watch it ... just to see if he will DON the cape... ;-)
Shaman - 3/4/2011, 10:00 AM
This looks just as good as Buffy (yes, the tv show and no, Gellar or Boreanaz can't act any better than Routh). Same phoned in performances, same type of crappy prosthetic monstrosities and same lame, below par action effects. Buffy's only excuse is that it was on tv. Let's face it, the quality of the show put straight on the big screen would look exactly like this film. So this should also go straight to TV and save some bucks & embarrassment. Hell, they might even get a cult following.
JayTopStix - 3/4/2011, 10:12 AM
Superman Routh?? LOL. You are still in denial. More like Brandon " I Love a D.i.c.k in my Mouth" Routh
bsprecher - 3/4/2011, 11:30 AM
@JayTopStix: Ouch! He wasn't that bad, was he? I thought Lois was waaaay worse. At least Routh had something of Reeve's bumbling Clark Kent right.
MrHand - 3/4/2011, 11:37 AM
this movie suck!
UltimateSpidey - 3/4/2011, 11:48 AM
its looks like constantine, a much worse constantine
Bryanferryfan - 3/4/2011, 11:58 AM
@ironangelx I've been a member of this site for quite some time and most of the people on here now my motto. If you are offended by it .... oh well... next!
DylansMyDog - 3/4/2011, 12:32 PM
This looks gloriously campy ... not exactly a faithful adaptation of the source but yeah i'm excited!
croniccris - 3/4/2011, 12:37 PM
bring on

nld3 - 3/4/2011, 1:20 PM
Routh just sounds like Superman.
Havok89 - 3/4/2011, 1:22 PM
Lol this looks like shittier version of Constantine :D
AlexDeLarge87 - 3/4/2011, 2:02 PM
Some like Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz) or John Landis (An American Werewolf in London, Burke & Hare) would have been great director for this movie. If it would have based in England like the comic.
AVEN - 3/4/2011, 2:10 PM
i will give it an opportunity
LP4 - 3/4/2011, 3:28 PM
@bsprecher- Was interested in the article until you referred to routh as- Brandon "Superman" Routh. As Superguy put it there is only ONE Superman and his name is- Henry Cavill. Oh and I don't get how Bosworth did worse than Routh in 'Returns'?? AT LEAST Bosworth acted in the film, at least she had sufficient dialogue. Routh barely spoke in the film. I'd say Bosworth did much better than Routh and oh for the record- ANYONE can copy Reeve's bumbling Clark. That is easy to do, any moron off the street can do it. All you have to do is trip over things and act like an idiot in public, that is easy to do. Acting comes with dialogue and that is something Routh didn't have nor evoke in the film. Bosworth and Spacey clearly overshadowed Routh in the film.

@Superguy- You mean HENRY Cavill...right? ;P

@JayTopStix- Hahahaha awesomely funny buddy!

@Ranger14- Yeah I don't get it either dude. I am still bothered by Routh's wooden/monotone voice. He sounds 'dull' all the time whenever he speaks, he sounds un-enthused which is the same feeling he leaves the audience feeling every time he tries to act.
JosePetrelli12 - 3/4/2011, 3:48 PM
Brandon "Superman" Routh = Fail

I liked him better in Scott Pilgrim!!!!
Ven0m - 3/4/2011, 3:48 PM
@LP4
Cavills is going to suck balls and watch you get another Superman vs Lex Luthor because DC sucks and no one can do Superman right. Christoper Reeves IS Superman and will always be. Gonna be damn hard to out do him and Brandon Routh did a pretty good job he just needed more muscle. And Acting isn't that easy.
LP4 - 3/4/2011, 3:51 PM
@Ven0m- Yes perhaps acting isn't that easy, but if he's going to call himself an "actor" then he should at least know HOW to act. Obviously for people like us, it wouldn't be that easy but for a Hollywood guy like Routh it should have been simpler. Not only that but I still dont' see how Routh did a pretty good job, he had no dialogue in the film.

Plus Cavill seems like a better quality actor than Routh. He's been in more successful projects and if Nolan and Snyder have faith in him, then that says something special about him.
Ranger14 - 3/4/2011, 4:04 PM
I used to teach television/film acting back in the 80's and I had students who could deliver lines better than Routh does. It has nothing to do with being easy or not, it has to do with whether you are good at it or you aren't. In this case, Routh simply isn't good at it.
DylansMyDog - 3/4/2011, 4:38 PM
I wish they had cast someone besides Routh in this movie simply because it would have kept every thread after a story on DYLAN DOG from devolving into a whiny superman argument.
LP4 - 3/4/2011, 7:06 PM
@DylansMyDog- I agree with you at least about you wanting someone else to be Dylan Dog. Besides there were better options than Routh...MUCH better options. Besides like i said before- I feel bad for you. I sincerely wish you'd gotten a better actor to represent your hero.

@Superguy- SERIOUS???!! I wish I had finished college dammit lol ;P But yeah I totally agree with you buddy- ZACK WILL OWN!!!! Oh and again you're also right about Reeve, he's done. It's Cavill's turn...er Hank ;D And yeah also on the routh-front like I told "Ven0m" it's ok for US to suck at acting because we don't pretend to be actors. But for someone like Routh- who obviously is pretending to be an actor because clearly he isn't a real actor...he should at least be able to exude more emotion into his roles and his dialogue the guy just sounds so boring and monotone.

@Ranger14- Again I agree with you dude. Routh sounds the same in every role he's in. It's not a matter of what "nld3" said, NO. Routh just sounds like that in all his roles. I actually feel kinda bad for the guy. Must be tough for him to PRETEND to be an actor ;P he needs to go back to soaps, the lame-o

LP4 - 3/4/2011, 7:25 PM
I can tell this will be yet another film where Sam Huntington will overshadow Routh- who SHOULD BE the main star. Just like how in SUPERMAN RETURNS Sam's Jimmy Olsen clearly overshadowed Routh's creepy, stalker, background character that was for some reason referred to as "Superman"
LEEE777 - 3/5/2011, 12:51 AM
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on WB... make a JLA TV SERIES and bring ROUTHY back as SUPERMAN! ; )
