Via Deadline, it is now officially known that the rights deal of the Terminator franchise have come to a close, as owner Megan Ellison (Killing Them Softly, Zero Dark Thirty) has enlisted her brother David Ellison (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, G. I. Joe: Retaliation) as part of the financial and creative backing for the new Terminator film. Not much is known about the next installment other than that the film will have a solid R-rating as planned by Ellison. Rumors have floated around the web of Arnold Schwarzenegger's return, but nothing is confirmed officially as of yet. The film has no release date.
