New G. I. JOE: RETALIATION Poster Hits The Web

Well technically, it isn't necessarily new. It is a previously seen poster with a few added features, such as Channing Tatum as Duke and a '3D' designation added to the title. See the poster for the Jon Chu-directed sequel after the jump.

A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with Hasbro and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. Joe: Retaliation. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, Ray Stevenson, Byung-hun Lee and Ray Park. The film, which is directed by Jon Chu, is set to blast into theaters March 29th, 2013.

Was Channing Tatum in the last version of this poster? I heard that part of the reason the studio pushed back the movie's release (aside from the unnecessary 3D conversion) was to write a dead Duke back into the story.

No he wasn't in the previous foreign version. That is one of the differences in this one.

Lets hope the movie is better then the poster, lol. I loved the first one, except for a few scenes, I thought it was good. I really loved Sienna Miller as The Baroness and Rachel Nichols as Scarlett. The two of them plus Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes were the best parts of the movie.

I cant wait for the second movie, I hope it doesnt disappoint. Wish it had Destro, Baroness, and Scarlett. Cobra Commander looks awesome



And I just bought this shirt to get ready for the movie, lol.

imo i think they killed Duke off, that's why he was absent in the trailers/pics more or less. 3D conversion shouldn't take this long and now Chatum is all over this shit, seems logical since his movies made money this year to work back into it

i guessing that 'duke' was offed in the initial take of this film. but after tatum blew up from 21 jump street, those re-writes & re-shoots resurrected him & somehow found a way to keep him alive.

not that im complaining at all, i'd just have been curious to see how it all unfolded behind the scenes.

Why did they move Jinx to the cobra side of things....
SHe always was a GI-Joe. Never went to Cobra or back and forth like Snake Eyes...

I wonder if this is a plot giveaway? she joins cobra...

I can't believe they halted a movie production for one actor. Channing Tatum was one of the reasons the first movie was bad.

Bruce Willis and The Rock are big enough box office draws. Filming more scenes of Channing Tatum is completely unnecessary.

I really hope Cobra Commander is as badass as he looks. Not a big fan of the whiny bitch he was in the cartoon. Especially without Destro or Zartan around. Violently killing Tatum, even if he has to come back somehow, would be a good start. Also, I wish Ray Stevenson was playing Zartan instead of Firefly.

@ vontstallin Was wondering about that (Jinx and Cobra). Interesting move, I think. As long as Snake Eyes gets enough screen time. Would be nice if we haven't seen all his big moments already.

dont know why everyone saying this is second movie cause the one before doesnt matter that was the prequel, this is the reall movie.

Think the poster be better just showing the Cobra part!

Damn, be great to see REAL Cobra this time and not that joke of a Cobra Commander from movie one.

Oh yeah awesome Storm Shadow's back, knew he would be. Him and Snake Eyes could be the only ones in the movie and I'd watch it, damn love them two characters!

As I understand it, one of the things test audiences rated the highest was Duke and Roadblock's friendship. I've actually grown to like Channing Tatum these days. He was great in 21 Jump Street and (I cant believe I'm going to say this) in The Vow. He reminds me of how Marky Mark was when he first started acting.
