The Greatest CBM (that actually feels like it came from a comic book) EVER!!!!!!!!! But, we all know where this is gonna end up leading into......

Very close second to TDK (though in entirely different ways and your mileage will vary). And Avengers 2 will be even better! CBM's are still on the rise!

im mixed about it.. i dont think it was the greatest movie of all time, it was a little cheesy at parts.. but i suppose that's what makes a comic book movie, flashy, cheesy comicy stuff that the kids like.. hence why some people dont even consider TDK a comic book movie

This was a great time at the movies....one of the best CBMs of all time. That being said i wanted to give an observation. Did Black Widow and Hawkeye get some supersoldier syrum at some point in the backstory? They kinda came off as being as super or more super than Cap. I'm the first one to say dont be too overanalynical about a CBM but it just seems that the super prowess of Widow and Hawkeye kinda outshine Cap's super abilities. I buy into the crazy over the top action scenes with Thor, Cap, and a suited up Iron Man but arent Widow and Hawkeye just talented but regular human beings? I'm just saying if by what i saw in The Avengers you put Cap, Widow, and Hawk in a room together and only one gets to come out....its even odds dont you think? just sayn.

yeah i have a cousin who went there too.

are you cuban or something else?

yeah agreed the movie does [frick]ing own.

i really had little expectation for it. i had in my mind that it had to be either really good or really bad, nothing in between. and as it turns out, it was really good, thank god.

Yes, maybe we do have to ask this question. I adored this movie. I laughed like a maniac at all the funny scenes, was stunned by the action, applauded with the rest of the audience (even though I tend to hate it when cinema audiences do that). This was certainly as comicky as comic books movies get, and any director aspiring to make the quintessential comic book movie MUST forever look up to Joss Whedon.
But to say this is the best movie EVER? Really? There were CERTAINLY tiny problems with the movie:
SPOLIER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! DON'T READ MORE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE!!!!!!
The Black Widow's weird hair whip, Iron Man's (tiny) CGI fail when he was suiting-down on his building the first time (watch his feet and how they don't properly touch the stairs), the way the Hulk was tamed so easily by Banner in the second half of the movie, the absolute ease with which they pounded the alien invaders (admit it. I know the point was to show that Earth wasn't to be messed with, but there was almost no challenge except for where they almost lost Iron Man)...

This was a damn near perfect movie, but there's still room for improvement and thank god for that or else what'd be the need for another Avengers movie?

And people, stop comparing this to TDK! Nolan treated Batman like it wasn't only a comic book movie, but a dark sort of psychological thriller/blockbuster (which I thought was the perfect way to go SPECIFICALLY for Batman) and he succeeded . They may both be comic book movies but they aren't really the same type of movie at all.

So yeah, Avengers was definitely an A. One of the greatest movies ever, no doubt. The greatest though? That's crazy talk.

Itoibuki- you got to see TDKR at home before it even came out in the theatres? Wow! I know someone close to the film and even he hasnt been allowed to watch the whole thing. No good though huh? Epic Fail even really? Wow thanks for saving me the trouble of seeing for myself and developing an opinion. One question....Is being a dumbass a hobby or do you get paid for it?
gaikinger
gaikinger - 5/7/2012, 2:18 AM
So if you are a miopic Marvel fan and the idea that a DC film might share grand approval from audiences will keep you from making solid bowel movements your a Troll. And if your a dogmatic hypersensitive deuche who cant relax and enjoy lighter escapeism because it isnt inbedded deep enough in gritty realism your a Nolanite? I get the Nolanite handle but what is the origin of Troll?

fantsstic comic book adaptation. but thats where the Nolan Whedon , Marvel DChrivalry rivalry falls flat. Nolans batman is a mature psycological take on Batman, no laughs no applause no whooping from the back rows . Wheedon dished up a likeable funride comic book adap where the laughs were well placed and a fun time was had by all.

I really hope this movie continues to break records. There's something very wrong with the sentence "Avatar, the highest grossing film of all time." Let's make sure we can say that about a movie that's actually good!

I am SO sick of hearing how great TDK was. The ONLY good part of that movie was Heath Ledger. Without him it was no more interesting than Crush Groove. The Avengers was a FAR better movie.
Bring on the hate. I'm only speaking the truth here. Batman is a great character. It's too bad that Bale can't bring that out on the big screen.
TDKR is coming and may be good. Unfortunately, Bale is going to give us his throat cancer voice again. Ugh. I'd rather hear a fat dog fart.
Peace !!
