Welcome back Trudy! Where you been? Don't matter, good to see ya.

Surprised more haters haven't shown up already.
SageMode - 5/7/2012, 1:15 AM
The Greatest CBM (that actually feels like it came from a comic book) EVER!!!!!!!!! But, we all know where this is gonna end up leading into......
UltimaRex - 5/7/2012, 1:15 AM
Very close second to TDK (though in entirely different ways and your mileage will vary). And Avengers 2 will be even better! CBM's are still on the rise!
Alexandre - 5/7/2012, 1:25 AM
really good movie, i had my problems with it in my second viewing, some things didnt make sense but overall really good.

yeah!!! my bitch trudy is back!!! :)

let me know when your in miami so we can meet up
PrinceVegeta - 5/7/2012, 1:30 AM
im mixed about it.. i dont think it was the greatest movie of all time, it was a little cheesy at parts.. but i suppose that's what makes a comic book movie, flashy, cheesy comicy stuff that the kids like.. hence why some people dont even consider TDK a comic book movie

gaikinger - 5/7/2012, 1:56 AM
This was a great time at the movies....one of the best CBMs of all time. That being said i wanted to give an observation. Did Black Widow and Hawkeye get some supersoldier syrum at some point in the backstory? They kinda came off as being as super or more super than Cap. I'm the first one to say dont be too overanalynical about a CBM but it just seems that the super prowess of Widow and Hawkeye kinda outshine Cap's super abilities. I buy into the crazy over the top action scenes with Thor, Cap, and a suited up Iron Man but arent Widow and Hawkeye just talented but regular human beings? I'm just saying if by what i saw in The Avengers you put Cap, Widow, and Hawk in a room together and only one gets to come out....its even odds dont you think? just sayn.
Alexandre - 5/7/2012, 1:56 AM
yeah i have a cousin who went there too.

are you cuban or something else?

yeah agreed the movie does [frick]ing own.

i really had little expectation for it. i had in my mind that it had to be either really good or really bad, nothing in between. and as it turns out, it was really good, thank god.
Destroyer7 - 5/7/2012, 1:59 AM
This is an epic movie

compared to TDKR EpicFail
Destroyer7 - 5/7/2012, 1:59 AM
I will not watch TDKR in cinemas
gaikinger - 5/7/2012, 2:00 AM
Dont get me wrong, i really dug this movie and will buy the BluRay as soon as it comes out. I just have some questions and observations about it.
Destroyer7 - 5/7/2012, 2:00 AM
I LIKE AVENGERS
Destroyer7 - 5/7/2012, 2:01 AM
5 months before avengers has a BRRIP
theCriticAndi - 5/7/2012, 2:06 AM
Yes, maybe we do have to ask this question. I adored this movie. I laughed like a maniac at all the funny scenes, was stunned by the action, applauded with the rest of the audience (even though I tend to hate it when cinema audiences do that). This was certainly as comicky as comic books movies get, and any director aspiring to make the quintessential comic book movie MUST forever look up to Joss Whedon.
But to say this is the best movie EVER? Really? There were CERTAINLY tiny problems with the movie:
SPOLIER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! DON'T READ MORE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE!!!!!!
The Black Widow's weird hair whip, Iron Man's (tiny) CGI fail when he was suiting-down on his building the first time (watch his feet and how they don't properly touch the stairs), the way the Hulk was tamed so easily by Banner in the second half of the movie, the absolute ease with which they pounded the alien invaders (admit it. I know the point was to show that Earth wasn't to be messed with, but there was almost no challenge except for where they almost lost Iron Man)...

This was a damn near perfect movie, but there's still room for improvement and thank god for that or else what'd be the need for another Avengers movie?

And people, stop comparing this to TDK! Nolan treated Batman like it wasn't only a comic book movie, but a dark sort of psychological thriller/blockbuster (which I thought was the perfect way to go SPECIFICALLY for Batman) and he succeeded . They may both be comic book movies but they aren't really the same type of movie at all.

So yeah, Avengers was definitely an A. One of the greatest movies ever, no doubt. The greatest though? That's crazy talk.
gaikinger - 5/7/2012, 2:07 AM
Itoibuki- you got to see TDKR at home before it even came out in the theatres? Wow! I know someone close to the film and even he hasnt been allowed to watch the whole thing. No good though huh? Epic Fail even really? Wow thanks for saving me the trouble of seeing for myself and developing an opinion. One question....Is being a dumbass a hobby or do you get paid for it?
gaikinger - 5/7/2012, 2:18 AM
So if you are a miopic Marvel fan and the idea that a DC film might share grand approval from audiences will keep you from making solid bowel movements your a Troll. And if your a dogmatic hypersensitive deuche who cant relax and enjoy lighter escapeism because it isnt inbedded deep enough in gritty realism your a Nolanite? I get the Nolanite handle but what is the origin of Troll?
Batman27 - 5/7/2012, 2:20 AM
@gaikinger Captain America would beat them. I just think Captain America was underused sometimes.
Jefferys - 5/7/2012, 2:26 AM
@theCriticAndi

Dafuq did I just read?
theCriticAndi - 5/7/2012, 2:35 AM
@Jefferys My opinion. Last time I checked I had one.
manumansion - 5/7/2012, 2:58 AM
fantsstic comic book adaptation. but thats where the Nolan Whedon , Marvel DChrivalry rivalry falls flat. Nolans batman is a mature psycological take on Batman, no laughs no applause no whooping from the back rows . Wheedon dished up a likeable funride comic book adap where the laughs were well placed and a fun time was had by all.
ThunderCougarFalconBird - 5/7/2012, 3:00 AM
I really hope this movie continues to break records. There's something very wrong with the sentence "Avatar, the highest grossing film of all time." Let's make sure we can say that about a movie that's actually good!
gloomypatrick - 5/7/2012, 3:06 AM
For Those Who Did Not Like This Film YOU ARE NOT A AVENGERS FAN This Movie Had Everything Anyone Could Hope For
jazzman - 5/7/2012, 3:23 AM

cptamericanotsomuch - 5/7/2012, 3:24 AM
I have to say that this was def one of my fav movies of all time now, My whole family enjoyed it my youngest daughter loves the hulk and yelled out hulk smash when cap gave the order...... the hulk loki scence was the funniest thing i have seen in a while!!!
Bodwulf - 5/7/2012, 3:26 AM
Simply the best!
A favorite line from the Avengers, Shakespeare in the Park.
RaKita - 5/7/2012, 3:33 AM
I am SO sick of hearing how great TDK was. The ONLY good part of that movie was Heath Ledger. Without him it was no more interesting than Crush Groove. The Avengers was a FAR better movie.
Bring on the hate. I'm only speaking the truth here. Batman is a great character. It's too bad that Bale can't bring that out on the big screen.
TDKR is coming and may be good. Unfortunately, Bale is going to give us his throat cancer voice again. Ugh. I'd rather hear a fat dog fart.
Peace !!
marvelmaniaco - 5/7/2012, 3:39 AM
I really enjoyed the avengers it is my favourite film of all time but I'm also looking forward to the dark knight rises, I'm watching avengers for the third time on Wednesday but I also can't wait for dark knight rises
cptamericanotsomuch - 5/7/2012, 3:43 AM
Does anyone else think that the girl that cap saves that gives the interview at the end is peggy carters daughter. The look she gave cap made me think that!!!
Bread - 5/7/2012, 4:09 AM

RealGothamite - 5/7/2012, 4:14 AM
@DoubleD You might just be the funniest person on this site!

Your jokes are comedy gold, Avengers better than Godfather 1 & 2!!!!

ROFLMAO
thunderforce - 5/7/2012, 4:17 AM
Greatest CBM ever made and the best part is unlike Star Wars or Harry Potter these Marvel movies are not going to end . Thanks Marvel for also forcing DC to make a DCCU so we can get a JLA movie . Let the Hype fpr Avengers 2 begin can you imagine how big that movie is going to be ?
RealGothamite - 5/7/2012, 4:22 AM
@Azazel1 the weird thing about @DoubleD is that this dude is middle aged and has kids!

I've seen a lot of his comments and I thought this guy must be like 10 years old or something...

but no he's a fully grown man which is quite disturbing!!
RealGothamite - 5/7/2012, 4:24 AM
@Mrcool210 needs to cool it!!!

Did I say @DoubleD can't have an opinion...NO

Take your [frick]ing Spiderman mask of and learn to read before replying!

brewtownpsych - 5/7/2012, 4:51 AM
top 100 comedies easy! greatest CBM, no. greatest movie ever? now that's a good one.
RealGothamite - 5/7/2012, 4:51 AM
@DoubleD I'm disappointed, I really wanted to see your list of Top 10 films of all time!
dahamma - 5/7/2012, 5:01 AM
Best CBM ever made so far, I really believe that. It embraced the source material with no shame, and it was awesome. I mean I never been to a movie with so much of the audience reacting to the movine, so much ceering and laughter. It was an awesome experience

Every fan of every super hero got what they wanted I know I did. Thor fan? We got to see Thor do his thing. Hulk fan? Hulk went all out. then as if that wasn't enough we get freaking HULK VS THOR!

Good Job Joss Whedon and crew. This beat out TDK for my fav cbm.
dahamma - 5/7/2012, 5:01 AM
plan on seeing it again wednesday and prob one more time after that
RealGothamite - 5/7/2012, 5:02 AM
In a film where a nuke ends up winning the day..geesh!!!

The Decepticons put up a legitimate fight in their films, what the hell were the Shittari doing???

RealGothamite - 5/7/2012, 5:08 AM
I think the world didn't really need the Avengers help.

Send in the marines to take on the Shittari and launch a nuke into the portal!
RealGothamite - 5/7/2012, 5:12 AM
Oh god another spiderman mask wearing dickwad!

Please tell me where I have said I hate DoubleD's opinions???

You won't find it, because I never said it!!

In fact I said DoubleD was a great comedian, he makes me laugh.

Stop acting like a hardman I'm shaking with fear at your lame ass threats.
Asterisk - 5/7/2012, 5:14 AM
GREAT MOVIE! It's like an event. It's defiantly up there to me, like top 3 or 4 movies of all time. Seeing it for the third time this week!
RealGothamite - 5/7/2012, 5:14 AM
@DoubleD The Godfather movies aren't my favorite films, but I do like them.

One thing that I definitely know is that The Avengers is not a better film than any of them and that includes the third one.
RealGothamite - 5/7/2012, 5:19 AM
@AmazingHipster what the [frick] are you talking about, and what kind of sex toys are you using that look like Bane???

Thanks for your opinion by the way, don't know what I would have done without your insightful comments.
Hawksblueyes - 5/7/2012, 5:20 AM
Some of you can keep talking about whatever it is you think this film is lacking, that's fine. While you're doing so, take a look in the mirror and realize that you're in a very tiny minority. I watched this movie in a packed cinema that I'm certain had at least a few "non fanboys" in it and EVERYBODY enjoyed it to a point or "level" that made me feel like I was at an AC/DC concert.

I've never seen a theater react and act like that before and I doubt I ever will again. There are undoubtedly better films out there, but this one is certainly one of the most enjoyable movies I've ever seen. It was definitely the most satisfying.
GunMetalScroll - 5/7/2012, 5:23 AM
One of the best movies I've seen and very epic. I loved the action Sequences and the characters sense of humor, especially the scene between Hulk and Loki but i'm willing to keep my mouth shut about the rest of the movie i'll give it 10 stars.
