Henry Cavill On Putting On The Iconic Suit In Superman: Man of Steel

While doing press for his new movie Immortals, Henry Cavill has spoken about what it was like to put on that famous suit for the first time. He has described it as "one of the best moments of his life". Hit the jump to see the video.

Ever wondered what it must be like to put on the suit for the first time and know you are about to play Superman? I don't think I would be able to contain myself - here is Henry Cavill's take on that special moment. Thanks to Chris Van Vliet from CBS-19 for asking the question.





As its Halloween, no doubt some of you out there have already put the suit on, but its not quite the same as knowing that come 2013 you will be on the big screen kicking ass is it?

Man of Steel is an upcoming American superhero film under the development of Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan, and David S. Goyer. Based on the DC Comics character Superman, the film will be a reboot of the Superman film series. Using Chicago as a backdrop, and with production to be based in west suburban Plano, the film entered principal photography in August 2011, for a planned theatrical release on June 14, 2013 by Warner Bros., which also includes IMAX venues.

Superman is returning to glory. The greatest superhero of all time is finally coming back! Superman 1 is the greatest superhero movie in my book, and this one has the potential to become the spiritual successor!

All joking aside, this movie screams positive vibes. I see this being a huge success.

My only hangup, has to do with villain selection, but if they make it something we have not seen before I can buy it.

I also have to say that after seeing Sucker Punch, this will at the very least look AMAZING. The fight scenes should be UBER kick ass!

This movie is going to be amazing. It might not be as good of a movie as TDKR but it will be much more fun to watch!

I want to IH style reboot GL for a sequel and try to tie it with this new Supes movie(if it doesn't suck).

With Bruce Timm and Chris Nolan as producer. Then they can reboot Batman with Bruce & Nolan. I thinnk DC still can save them selfs if WB gets their act together.

Just wait til after the success of the Avengers, WB will figure it out.

@TheRealEnrico, Yeah if DC plans on rebooting Batman for a JL movie, I'd like to see something more along the lines of an Arkham City kind of Batman movie. The feel, setting would be incredible in a live action movie (plus that Batman could kick the movie Batman's ass in a heartbeat lol).

Ummm.... Iconic suit? His suit is a total mess, there's nothing Iconic about his suit. It's even darker than Rouths suit, which isn't a good thing. So sick of emo Superman.

He seems great. The suit is a fantastic improvement on the classic, but silly looking in modern day suit. The 78 Superman is still one of the best CBM ever. I hope this is going to be a good re-imagining.

Yeah i've deifnetly warmed to him as Supes. I was not very fond of the choice to begin with mainly because they cast a Brit but he definetly seems to embody a more contemporary interpretation of Supes. I'm also excited for Immortals.

He put on the iconic suit? The S Logo sure even as bumpy and rubbery as it is but the suit is far from iconic. In that case anyone in all blue is wearing the iconic
Superman suit. Really outside the logo and it still being in a shade of blue not much else is thr same "old Superman costume"

I awknowledge the change but it's for the worst.

The Cavill suit would be good if it didnt look so rubbery, had the actual Superman colors and design, wasn't so poc marked, didn't have the wonderwoman braclets, and didn't have the wierd sensless lines/seams/glued on parts, wasn't so dark and dirty. Change all that and it could br perfect.

Superman has not returned because this a brand new do over Superman. This film has nothing to do with the previous movies. This Superman will be really good! Lol. I can hear the Superman in his voice plus he has his build. Do did you notice how both of the main characters IN a DC comic both have accents? It seems like they only trust out of the country actors! Lol.

Even if this movie blows, my heart officially belongs to Cavill. He IS Superman. They can get a million different directors idefc as long as Cavill can be Supes forever.
