In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds). Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds, Mark Strong, Blake Lively, Peter Saarsgard, and Geoffrey Rush and releases in theaters July 17th.

JerBear - 4/1/2011, 7:13 PM
Why's the nose part of his mask crooked?
airbeyonder18 - 4/1/2011, 7:15 PM
The costume looks way better now for some reason. Did they fix the CGI.
Ethic - 4/1/2011, 7:16 PM
@jerbear
It's just the lighting
Corpse - 4/1/2011, 7:26 PM

Nick56 - 4/1/2011, 7:28 PM

RoscoeFolgers - 4/1/2011, 7:31 PM

ClaireLannister2016 - 4/1/2011, 7:33 PM
Ok time for the CBMers to fight about which CBM poster looks the best: Gl, thor, cap, Conan, or X men first class. Well.....start arguing. ;)
Cross - 4/1/2011, 7:37 PM
Let's see how it will do in motion this time. Don't screw this up again!
ALmighty1080 - 4/1/2011, 7:37 PM
wow awesome
TheRandomGeek - 4/1/2011, 7:41 PM
THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!!

Oh wait... Wrong movie :P
Still, GL's gonna be EPIC!
vermillion - 4/1/2011, 7:44 PM
I've been rooting for Green Lantern the whole, fraggin, time. (IMO)It just seems so much more interesting than Thor, Captain America, and X-Men: First Class. That said, I am looking forward to all of them. Especially Thor. And will be seeing all of these in the theater :D

That poster is freakin EPIC. I want it in my room ASAP!

WellDrawn - 4/1/2011, 7:45 PM
Leaps and bounds better. Suite looks fantastic - the dark, silhouette lantern on his chest makes a huge difference. Mask still looks very photoshopped around the edges unfortunately.

@BlackWidow - Cap poster's gotta be the best, head down w/ shield, easily one of the most iconic Cap images, brought to life. Thor's are good, but a little heavy on the floating heads. X-men posters.... we all know :(
Mason - 4/1/2011, 7:46 PM
CGI suit looks way better. I want one!
vermillion - 4/1/2011, 7:52 PM
BTW, RYAN REYNOLDS RECOMMENDED BRADLEY COOPER FOR "THE FLASH" !

GinGuilt - 4/1/2011, 7:52 PM
My first reaction was OMG THATS AWESOME but then I realized it was the EW face AGAIN and that his body is pure CGI(LOOK AT HIS ARM)
DarthTesla - 4/1/2011, 8:03 PM
I love the way the Lantern in his chest looks. Very cool.
stjohnofDC - 4/1/2011, 8:06 PM
So I guess Legendary Pictures isnt getting behind this DC film! But I guess they thought Jonah Hex was something to cosign...
Otisburg - 4/1/2011, 8:06 PM
THE ONLY PROBLEM I SEE WITHT THIS POSTER IS THAT IT HAS RYAN RAYNOLDS ON IT!!....all the posters in the world wont help this flop.
Daniellantern - 4/1/2011, 8:07 PM
COOL!! if this poster titled in "Hal Jordan". will we see poster of Carol Ferris,Hector Hammond, Sinestro, Guardian and every members of GL corp single posters? i hope it's true!!
whoa123 - 4/1/2011, 8:10 PM
That is f*ckin nice!!!!!!!!
vermillion - 4/1/2011, 8:12 PM
Xenix-Still, you're the only one really complaining about that. ;D
soberchimera - 4/1/2011, 8:15 PM

SageMode - 4/1/2011, 8:19 PM
Cool improvement to the costume, but Why do they use the same exact same head from the Entertainment Weekly Green Lantern photo to do all Green Lantern promo pics? LOL. smh......

dukester9 - 4/1/2011, 8:21 PM
YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
This looks so fricking awesome!!!!!
I Love GL!!!!!!
AverageJoe - 4/1/2011, 8:28 PM
SageMode, great catch! Like some of the others said, "nothing new". Those faces are identical. I'm not saying anything about the movie, but they are taking their sweet time putting out original images from the actual movie. Are they doing this on purpose?
vermillion - 4/1/2011, 8:37 PM
Yeah, who really gives a crap if it's the same head from other pictures? His suit is CGI, so does it really matter? I guess to some people it does. Doesn't bother me. They're showing us they're improving the suit, that's all I needed to know! :D

I guess some people just like to complain about something. "Nothing new" ? The suit looks way, wayyyy better people. Lord.
Checkmate - 4/1/2011, 8:37 PM
Favorite CBM poster for this Summer.
ViperXX79 - 4/1/2011, 8:40 PM
The eyes look weird and the mask makes it look like he has a beak.
GinGuilt - 4/1/2011, 8:42 PM
What the hell do you mean,"there's nothing wrong with the head"?!

It goddamn lazy. C'mon,it's the first picture and they are just recycling it into official marketing material. By the end of the day we only have ONE picture of Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern, the other ones, are his head in a picture, drawn body.
albieg25 - 4/1/2011, 8:49 PM
Ok so let me get this right....before no one like the suit, now the suit is good, but th head is the same so no one likes it, ummm, still dont unstand the problem if his head is the only thing thats not CGI the of course its gonna be the same folks they really aint have to do much the change its. (hey ryan lets take a head shot for our new poster) naw common guys ur comments are retarded, find something new to complain about, cuz you complants are old just like his head!!!!
GinGuilt - 4/1/2011, 8:51 PM
Man,the image itself it's OK. It just bothers the hell of me how lazy the marketing is. I mean, does Warner think we wouldn't notice?

This is the first big summer movie that does this kind of thing. Just use another picture already, god damn.
supernaturalfreak - 4/1/2011, 8:55 PM
the green fire behind the insignia looks like a stock photo, but other than that it's looking much better
soforizo - 4/1/2011, 8:57 PM
The suit is drawn a little better, but overall it seems some fans don't mind this lazy-ass approach.
albieg25 - 4/1/2011, 9:00 PM
^^^^ @ soforizo NOPE SURE DONT!!!!! its something new just what everone ask for...beggers cant be choosers
skullboy - 4/1/2011, 9:21 PM
Kick ass.
paalbr - 4/1/2011, 9:31 PM
C'mon people, it looks awesome.

I have a feeling that as more and more of this movie's true scope is revealed, the pettier the complaints will be - and from the same people of course.
Superdan2012 - 4/1/2011, 9:36 PM
I cannot wait to see this movie in 2 months. Iam so excited
GinGuilt - 4/1/2011, 9:39 PM
Hell yeah frogsplash46! I wanna see the one behind the doritos ad!
Spidey91 - 4/1/2011, 9:39 PM
now we're talking
JoshJones - 4/1/2011, 9:45 PM
Probably the only good thing about CGIing the suit; if the fans hate on it, they can just change it.
JoshJones - 4/1/2011, 9:52 PM
Also, I'm really looking forward to this because it's kind of surreal that we're getting a Green Lantern movie. I mean, why not The Flash, or Wonder Woman, or Green Arrow(who would most likely be the coolest and easiest to sell to the general public)? I love me some GL, but he kind of seems like the least marketable of the DC big boys. I really hope they knock this one out of the park.

[frick] that Justice League reboot shit WB wants to to, by the way. Why just ignore the franchises you have set up already? And yes, I believe Nolan's Batman could have a place in a theoretical JLA movie.
TayDee - 4/1/2011, 9:54 PM
mask looks awful
JoshJones - 4/1/2011, 9:55 PM
I'm drunk as fūck, if that helps make sense of things.
WingDingaLing - 4/1/2011, 11:13 PM
FINALLY!! they put black on the suit! thank you!
MrSuperheromoviefan - 4/1/2011, 11:46 PM
looking good
JasonBlue - 4/1/2011, 11:52 PM
Adoring the suit!
