Bowen Designs Releases a Look at Newsreel Captain America

Randy Bowen has posted a couple of pictures of his upcoming "Newsreel" Captain America statue.
Bowen Designs has been on fire lately! Yesterday we caught a glimpse of their upcoming Hercules statue and today we catch a glimpse at the upcoming Captain America "Newsreel" statue. This particular piece is black and white. It may come with a variant flesh colored face but, he doesn't know for sure.

The prototype was painted by the very talented Dan "Danno" Cope. Captain America is sculpted by Randy Bowen. With the Avengers movie gaining momentum, it is a safe bet we will see more and more awesome Avengers statues from Bowen Designs soon!

This is the costume CAP should have when he's in the AVENGERS, and DARK NAVY BLUE too!!!

Nah. He has to wear the COLORS. That's what it's all about. The Red, White, and Blue. That would be the perfect costume for the movie if it's in full color. Perfect for WWII Cap.

Nice statue though. I've got the golden age cap Bowens statue. I think I'll stick with it.

This is the way he should be in the movie!
Well, plus the red, white and blue colors!
They can be muted tone colors though, when
he's fighting in WWII! I love the original
uniform where there is no red and white on
his back!

Then in the present much brighter colors!

Pure bada$$, in my opinion. Then again, I haven't seen too many Cap designs that I didn't like...yes, even the new Bucky 'shiny-suit'...methinks it's pretty cool too.

Nice statue. I always was a Captain America fan. Its kind of crazy that we have seen Green Lantern concept art and constant Thor news being posted on here but we have yet to have any type of visual or verbal information on who will be Captain America and what his costume will possibly look like. I think he will be the most difficult to translate on screen being that his comic uniform just would not look right in real life. I would say keep the red white and blue concept and his iconic wings on his mask but other than that change everything. Though i hate the Ultimates concept, i did like how they modernized his uniform minus the wingless mask and shoulder logos. If they went that direction and keep those minuses out i would be happy. But i have to say the wings have to stay. Its like making Batman's mask without the ears. Its just an iconic feature that you cant remove from the character.
