What Spider-Man 4 Could Have Been

Thank you to Sweetre15 for bringing this to my attention.


This was posted a little over a month ago by "The First Filmmaker" over on imdb.com, who claims to have seen the spider-man 4 script. I know what you're all probably thinking right now but this all sounds legit, it matches up with everything we had heard leading up to Spider-man 4's cancellation. If this is true, then it's no wonder Raimi had problems with the script and pulled out of SM4.

- It takes place about five years after Spider-Man 3.

- Peter and Mary Jane has married ever since and has a kid. Yeah, that made me puke a little already and that was just the beginning.

- J. Jonah Jameson retires and is replaced by Adrian Toomes as the head of the Daily Bugle.

- The Vulture is the only villain. Vulturess must have been written out or something...

- The Vulture would have been totally different from the comics, Adrian Toomes creates a giant suit with a likeness to a Vulture that he has the ability to control with his mind. Yeah, corny much?

- Felicia Hardy is in the film, but only as Felicia. There are hints throughout the film though that eventually she would become the Black Cat.

- Dr. Curt Connors has a larger role because there are many scenes where Peter and Felicia are in his class.

- Peter starts to realize he does not love Mary Jane anymore (some superhero...) and ultimately starts cheating on her with Felicia.

- At the end of the film, Adrian Toomes is killed by Spidey and Peter later learns that Toomes was Felicia's god father.

- Felicia grows a hatred towards Spider-Man and Peter feels guilty.

- J. Jonah Jameson just randomly pops back up in the Daily Bugle like he never was gone in the first place.

- The end shows Mary Jane leaving with the baby somewhere unknown and Peter throws out his Spider-Man suit.

It also has a very cheesy part with Peter bringing his baby to the zoo...


Some of you might be going "no way this is true, they woulden't give spidey a kid after the epic fail Superman Returns was!" But as you recall there was a casting call for a two or three year old Caucasian with red hair to appear in SM4 before it got canned.
Now as some of you know I have been totally against this reboot idea from the get go, the biggest reboot hater on here actually with the only exception being LEEE777 (who constantly posts on every Spider-Man article saying "Frick the reboot." lol) but if this is legit then I am truly glad this thing never got made, what are your thoughts on this guys?

Exactly my point and several sites were confirming these details at the time. It also sounds Raimi-like because he also said it would go "back to the basics". Considering the formula Raimi has used for all three films it seems like he was losing his touch because this story not only rehashes the "Spider-Man is No More" aspect but it also rehashed the whole "I'll avenge my father formula" from the previous films in the trilogy.

i still hate the idea of rebooting, but if the script was near that bad as this crap,(and i think this script is probably the true one because earlier this year it had surfaced again, after the reboot announcement) then reboot it... sony is the next fox.

this is true. ive seen it on other sites b4. SM4 would have sucked donkey balls.

im still saying [frick] the reboot. what they're doing for it COULD have been done for SM4.

i read something like this... but the Vulture is spiderman's father and in the end Spiderman reveals his true identity in public...

Just watched the Evil Dead trilogy. Now I'm sad it's a reboot even more. a LOT of this [frick]ed up though.

raimi is the man. why didn't they do for sm4 what they are doing with the reboot now? the only logical continuation was lizard with carnage (symbiote sample kept by connors). why did they have to go and [frick] everything up, just to reboot it? assholes... should have done sm4 even with a different cast and director if they had to. now, 10 years of spideyness goes to hell, and back at the beginning. i grew up watching these movies. and of course they are not rebooting to send peter to highschool. that's bullshit. garfield will be too old to play a student in more movies than one. they go and undo their excuse for the reboot. sony=fox... at least scrap the origin and make it look like a continuation of sorts of the previous films, like punisher war zone and incredible hulk. i mean any usual moviegoer thinks that tih is ang lee's sequel, and pwz is jane's sequel.that kind of reboot, i don't mind. although it won't happen. why does it have to be a reboot and not just a spidey movie? free of continuity (as nolan wants to do with superman)?

fuk the reboot. raimi did a good job as far as when he had control. when the stupid fuks of Sony got too involved everything went to sh1t. this movie would've bombed hard. they should've just given all creative rights to Raimi. FUK YOU SONY!!!

Why'd they have to reboot it!?

How spider-man 3 could have worked out:

Sandman is not uncle Ben's killer just some thief.

Harry Osbourne turns into the green goblin but wears the green goblin suit NOT Paintball mask wearing snowboard dude.

Harry makes Mary Jane break up with Peter to attack his heart and Peter and Gwen get SUPER CLOSE!

Blah Blah Some fight scenes and what not.

Harry kidnaps Gwen and throws her from the top of the GW bridge. Peter swings down a web and catches her. She's dead. (Similar to the comics except harry does it not Norman)

Peter goes crazy and wants revenge and acquires the symbiote. He's sick of eddy brock and gets him fired similar to the movie.

He realizes that the suit changes him into something he's not.

He gets rid of the suit. and Eddy Brock finds the symbiote and wants revenge on Peter.

Peter trys to apologize to mary jane and finds out it was all Harry's Fault.

Peter and Harry get in a giant fight over manhattan, harry ends up dying. (but you don't find out til the end of the movie.)

Peter listens to the police radio and see's there's a bank robbery and another sandstorm. He fights the sandman, blah, Blah. He sucks him up in a vaccum (like in the comics).

He sits on top of a rooftop and thinks of gwen and uncle ben, He takes his mask off and is attacked by a mysterious black figure who growls (Venom).

The end! Role Credits!


Spider-man 4:

Peter proposes to Mary Jane in the top of Time's Square,
She gets pregnent.

*Flashback* (Spidey and Venom Fight scene)

Peter remembers when venom attacked him,

Venom and Spider-man fight until peter eventually removes Eddy from the suit and brings him to the cops, In jail he's Cell mates with Cletus Kassidy.

*Flashback Over*

The symbiote eventually finds Eddy and rebonds with him. Cletus is so thrilled that eventually he finds the carnage suit. They both escape from Jail. Venom talks about his revenge against peter, they both attack peter.

After a couple of fights blah blah blah.

Venom realizes Cletus is like a psychopathic cannibal truly crazier than he is.

So Venom lets peter go,

When peter gets to his apartment, he gets a call from Doc conners, saying its an emergency.

He goes to see doc conners and watches him turn into the lizard, after some fights, peter electrocutes him and knocks him out enough time for peter to make an antidote.

On his way home, peter meets up with his friend felicia. Mary Jane is truly jealous. (Felicia is not Black cat yet.)

Venom is not longer teamed up with Carnage. Carnage goes on killing rampages and the cops cant stop him. Spiderman goes into action and teams up with venom to defeat Carnage and Carnage is stronger than all of them. Venom is defeated and Spiderman finally removes the symbiote from Cletus and brings him to the cops.

Venom escapes,
Spiderman meets black cat and they go fighting bad guys and she trys to convince him to become an all time crime fighter and to stop dating a normal girl. He realizes shes immature and says they cant fight crime together anymore, (this is all from the Spiderman 2 Video Game storyline, Look it up) She gets jealous and becomes a theif.

Venom hiding from the law. *Spin off movie comes in here*

wow... agree with them getting married but instead have them get married in the movie... and do it just like in the comics... then put a few well chosen villains then it would be great... but if it was that way... i'm super glad it was never made!

@Answer@ science major = lots of college... but yeah, if this is true, fail, if not still fail, I'm looking forward to the reboot I want a more authentic spidey film and I think it's finally coming.

i think they're only rebooting it because they wantto put Nick Fury eith in part 1 or the sequel if it does get a Sequel and that way they can incoporate Spiderman into and Avenger sequel. These are just my thoughts does anyone agree

@Scottryan you sir have just written a way better version of Spider-Man 3. RUN WITH IT! :)

maybe change the venom part alittle. have him stalking over Peter from another building or something, swearing his revenge, which could lead to next movie. Then for SM4, all the Venom VS Spidey & Jail flashbacks would be in the present. ???

On another note, had this happened, it would have indeed been another Superman 4. But I still would have watched it, seeing as how I enjoyed Superman 4, if only because it was so ridiculous, and the attempt (unsuccessful of course)to give it that Donner feel.

this is total made up bs. we are already had the confirmation, at the time sm4 was still a go, that john malkovich was gonna be vulture.

the only reason u see this crap on other sites is the fact that they get there movie news from imdb, and imdb makes up shit quicker than KY, so...... ya. bullshit.

spider-man 4 should of done this.

1.a brand new cast & crew (jake gyleenhaal for peter parker & mary elizabeth winstead for mary jane is a must.)
2.villains (kraven the hunter & the lizard)

have this as a build up movie for the sinister six story in spider-man 5 & 6.

a lot of people hate on spiderman 3, because IT WAS BAD. But I beleive they should of finished it , so many plot GAPS. Oh, well. Now I have to GO SEE a REBOOT.
