This was the first movie I went to see on my own, without any parents, with my own money when it didn't cost an arm and a leg. One of my favorite Godzilla movies. I just got the Criterion version, going to post a review on that soon

This movie will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was the first REAL Godzilla movie that I saw in theaters.

However, I can't stand the Godzilla design in this one. It just doesn't sit right with me.

I wish the "Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack" design stuck around...ah well.

Good review, by the way.

Good review. I'm glad you did this one cuz' this is one of my favorite Big G's movies.

Yeah, I particularly liked the relationship between the father and daughter. It was a nice little moment when she was cooking rice balls for him- kinda took over the 'mom' role for her dad.
Agreed. This Godzilla looked the best compared to others in past films. And his hyper-breath moments were thrilling!

That city in the final battle sure took a beating tho! Ha-ha!

Except for Son of Godzilla, I've loved all of them.. but...

From Godzilla 2000 on, they have taken it more seriously..

as should we all.

I hope they do a remake of King Kong vs. Godzilla someday... with modern technology, that would be a hoot!

Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster (Hedorah) is the best of the bunch. The kid in me loves Monster Island.

Good review, this is easily one of my favorite Godzilla films.

@CrowPirate1 That would be phenomenal. If only Legendary Pictures had the rights to Kong...

I will admit seeing a Godzilla on the big screen did have a lot of appeal. Never thought there'd be a whole renaissance of the older films screening across the country, either. And often subbed. That *was* awesome. But G 2000 was pretty generic. I mean it ripped off Twister and Jurassic Park, FFS. Though I guess, compared to Yonggary, it was Shakespeare. Anyway, Destroyah's my fave Godzilla flick. Sell us the subbed version already, Sony!

Oy. Have any of you even seen the original, Raymond Burr-less Godzilla? It's great to see it in theaters, BELIEVE ME.

This is probably my favorite Godzilla movie ever. The way Godzilla destroys Orga is truly awesome.
