The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to launch a 'Spider-Man Cinematic Universe', overseen by producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach. We know that Venom and Sinister Six are already lined up along with direct sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man, but which other characters can we expect to see?

According to Den of Geek, the Spider Slayers and Black Cat are almost certain to make an appearance in future Amazing Spider-Man films after the appearances of BJ Novak as Alistair Smythe and Felicity Jones as Felicia Hardy in the new movie. In an interview with producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, Den of Geek asked if much was to be made of these appearances.

"Definitely", Avi Arad said. "Everything you see that makes you think about the comics, I think you should read into it". Matt Tolmach added that "There are no accidents". Arad noted that "when they'll be implemented, that's food for thought".

Whilst the appearances of the characters is all but confirmed, it does leave open the question of when exactly we'll be seeing them. Could it be part of the Sinister Six, or could they have other solo films lined up?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. It is out today in the UK!
