Warner Bros. has released the first clip from the upcoming Mortal Kombat live-action web-series which is going to be called 'Mortal Kombat: Legacy'.

Director and writer Kevin Tancharoen said this about the upcoming premiere of the series:
“Machinima is the perfect entertainment destination to premiere the series,” said Kevin Tancharoen, Director, Producer and co-writer of “Mortal Kombat: Legacy.” “They have a massive audience of gamers from around the world. We worked very closely with NetherRealm Studios and Ed Boon, and we’re now putting the finishing touches on the episodes. I’m confident we’ve stayed true to the Mortal Kombat lore and am hoping the fans will be blown away by what they see.”


"Written by Kevin Tancharoen , Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing, “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” is an anthology of nine live action shorts, and brings to life the motivation behind each character’s participation in the Mortal Kombat tournament. Each episode will provide never-before-revealed insights into characters featured in the upcoming videogame as well as the game’s universe.




The first episode of 'Mortal Kombat: Legacy' hits on April 12th.

Awesome! And with WB actually as PRODUCERS this makes it official and full of PURE AWESOMENESS!!!

Just saying it's more reassuring to have a big company like Warner Bros to produce it.

Looks pretty cool. I wish this was actually on TV. It would be nice to have a major motion picture soon. I'll take what I can get though.

the explosion will probably have some thing to do with kano losing his eye and then getting the metallic mask, And hopefully people show interest in this, it could mean WB making a movie FINALLY.

yeah that was fun but goofy. hah, maybe perfect for MK? i mean, from HOW angry Kano looked at his gun in the beginning to him stabbing Jax with the gun at the end? (god forbid he turns and shoots him) it was pretty cartoony. but i'm still up for seeing more.

Looks just OK. Not awesome, but definitly not shit. The combat coreography is pretty cool though.

the missed the sound synchronization of the gun at 00:05, the editing is bad at 00:18 (they should have cut at 00:16) I Hate the weird slight slow motion at 00:19. But the overall editing is just horrible, they need an another guy to do it, as for the directing, well it's not good but there is potential, the lighting is pretty good.

idk, seems kind of cheeseball, would be a fantastic fan-made clip but for something thats "official" i guess im expecting better, Kombat deserves a higher budget and a full reboot feature film, with a solid fan base, good story, and potential for awesome effects,WB should see it as a smart investment

It is only a web series. I'm sure it's just WB testing the waters to see if they should invest in a high budget movie.

I think it looks cool. Nice spin on Mortal Kombat.
