To go along with the Iron Man character poster that was revealed just the other day, the folks over at Marvel.com have released another SDCC 2011 exclusive character poster for their upcoming film The Avengers. This one gives us a really good look at Captain America in his updated costume that will be worn in the film.





The Avengers hits theaters May 2012 and stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor,Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/ The Hulk, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill.

I like these. I wonder what the Thor one will have in the background. The Iron Man had Iron Monger, Whiplash, and Nick Fury in the back...and Pepper. I like how it truly is a contemporary version of the original suit.

ok so i'm assuming that thor poster will be next. now i hope they give the others some posters as well. don't just post the three heroes with movies....other than the hulk. hawkeye and black widow need some love to. i know one person in particular will agree with me.

Loving the design, specially the cowl. It's like a cross between the TFA's helmet and the comic's mask, something like the Ultimate Cap... And I really like it :P

Very very good! Evans don´t make me believe in captain america. Need to be a more confident and brave face. Same problem with Hal Jordan or Superman.
The Thor guy is more "Captain america" than Evans for me...BUT the armor looks great with that blue utility belt.

I hope after seeing TFA, everyone will appreciate the "straps for no reason" costume. The man is being shot at. Sleek bullet proof armor just doesn't exist at that time. Plus, he is trying to inspire his fellow troops by designing a suit reminiscent of the USO outfit.

Concept art looks nice. Sleek, streamlined. I'll reserve actual judgment until I've actually seen Evans in Avengers-Cap costume.

@yossarian -- the straps are there for a reason. It's called an LBE, and along with the belt helps support weight of the ammo pouches.

PIMP!!! I love it! Kept almost every element of the actual design and made it work for a real world costume. It looks like the took the old helmet and added a neck part to it.

Helmet looks a bit daft. I prefer the one from his solo film.
