Nic Cage On The Process Of Making Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance
Click here to hear what Nic Cage has to say about the process of making Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, what sets this film apart from the original, & how he wanted to bring the darker side of the character to the film...
During this years SDCC we've heard Nic Cage talk a little bit about Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance but in this lengthy interview with the folks over at ShockTillYouDrop he goes into some more details on the film, including creating a specific body language and style of movements for the actual Ghost Rider himself, performing more practical stunts, bringing the more darker qualities of the character to life, and at the end he even briefly reveals whether he would return for another National Treasure movie.
Here's a few excerpts from the interview but be sure to watch the video for the full thing:
"In this one it's more like he's been living with it for a while and it's taken it's toll on him, making him more edgier, more sarcastic, hopefully still funny but more sarcastic."
"One of the other things this movie gave me the chance to do that I didn't get to do in the first one is play Ghost Rider. Which is interesting to me because it's all about, how do you move if you're from a different dimension. That really stimulates creative thinking. We all got in a room and explored different movements, body language, we looked at some animals, a cobra kept coming back to me. It was about how to present the Ghost Rider himself."
"What I love about working with these guys is they're brave, and extremists, not afraid to take chances, literally risking Mark's life to get shots. Also they're open to taking chances with a performance."
"I don't want to harken back to the first film. It was important to me that this movie show the nightmarish quality of Ghost Rider."
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vegeance hits theaters February 17, 2012 and stars Nic Cage as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider, Ciaran Hinds as The Devil, Johnny Whitworth as Blackout, and Idris Elba.
