While on a press tour for his new film, Clark Gregg who plays Agent Coulson, briefly talked about the second season of Marvel's Agents of Shield, “It’s going to be lo-fi. You’re going back to basics. You’ve got to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. from the ground up in a much more dangerous world where your group is outlawed. So it feels like the early, Sean Connery James Bond with the brass knuckles and not afraid to knock somebody off.” He continued on talking about the darker tone that the next season will inherit as well as the new time slot and Agent Carter, “I thought there were so many things stacked against us last year,” said Gregg, “and one of them was where the ABC television schedule would put us on for three episodes and then take us down for four weeks. Nobody could get a momentum going and when the show started to be on consistently and having story that carried over in an episodic way, that’s when things started to click. So the great thing about the announcement was, A., we’re moving to nine, where it can be a little darker, like I think Marvel needs to be. Then they’re going to show, I believe it’s ten [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes], eight of [Agent Carter], then twelve [more Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.]…For the most part, this is straight runs of our show, which is when I think it really works.” What do you guys think? Are you excited for the 2nd season of Agents of Shield? Leave your thoughts in the usual place.

If AOS season 2 is anything like the last 5 episodes, I am so down. I'm more down than a drunken loose woman on saint patties day.
yossarian - 6/3/2014, 1:41 PM
More half naked chicks please.

Oh and cast Nicky Whelan.
Desrow - 6/3/2014, 1:42 PM
Darker that word it's like an exorcism for some Marvelites.
dethpillow - 6/3/2014, 1:43 PM
well, of course it's darker...
but is it grittier?

that's what the world is clamoring to know...
dethpillow - 6/3/2014, 1:44 PM

LAsBruceWayne - 6/3/2014, 1:44 PM

Can't wait! Season finale really showed how far the series has come.
KingOnslaught - 6/3/2014, 1:53 PM
Shield was great can't wait for season 2 all the haters can [frick] off
XF14 - 6/3/2014, 1:54 PM
Whatever my feelings for the show (awful, laughable, wasteful), I agree with his sentiments of consistency and tone.
SpiderFraud - 6/3/2014, 1:54 PM
Eh, I will believe when the show comes back. The first season was a mess, gained some momentum after Cap, then flopped on the season finale. I'm gonna give this show one more season.
JoJo1982 - 6/3/2014, 1:57 PM
Also going low-fi means cheaper on the show's budget
RetroFit - 6/3/2014, 1:59 PM
More Low-Fi than Deathlok in a lazer tag vest and khakis? Good Lord.

DARK AS IN THE FURTHEST MY ASS BRUSH CAN GO???
SunfireUrA55 - 6/3/2014, 2:04 PM
I REALLY want this show to be as Awesome as Arrow so bad, but the writers/producers are just not delivering it!
Oh well, I gave it a chance. No superheroes in the show, don't care!
ralfinader - 6/3/2014, 2:05 PM
Looking forward to season 2, not something I would have said at all before the second half of season 1 rolled out.

And Agree 100% with Yoss, not only is she beautiful, but she is already sporting the low-tech SHIELD transportation footwear.
charlie2094 - 6/3/2014, 2:05 PM
Definitely agree with the whole momentum stuff, have said that before. The show disappeared all the time, and with 22 episodes, it can often be very slow moving, need to build some kind of momentum to keep people interested, hopefully that's fixed now.

First half of SHIELD was laughable, but it really kicked into gear after Cap and once Deathlok appeared. Hopefully they've learnt from their mistakes and Season 2 is great, willing to give it a chance
DrunkenNukem - 6/3/2014, 2:05 PM
like Arrow?
shabat - 6/3/2014, 2:06 PM
"where it can be a little darker, like I think Marvel needs to be."

I thought it was Marvel's schtick to be lighter?
shabat - 6/3/2014, 2:09 PM
@AlphaAndDecmina yes that was laughable.
Dunejedi - 6/3/2014, 2:13 PM
Actually, I think their throwing the "darker" out there to talk all the Nolanites and Fauxnatics off the ledge. You'll know they're really courting that crew if they start saying it will be more "grounded". Buzzwords are fun.

@Yoss, You're doing the lord's work. The lord of T & A.
RetroFit - 6/3/2014, 2:13 PM
Seriously. There's even lazer tag vests out there cooler than Deathlok. Some even have blinking lights.

MercwithMouth - 6/3/2014, 2:14 PM
Same old culprits upset about a little levity... Even though it was after everything important happened...just laugh DAMMIT! Lol.

I can't wait. I watched an encore of the finale on Sunday night, and it reminded me how badly I miss this show. And just how much I want to know what the [frick] Coulson was carving into the wall...
LAsBruceWayne - 6/3/2014, 2:15 PM
Oh so my pic get's removed but his comments which I repeated didn't? Cmooonnnn

AXE - 6/3/2014, 2:15 PM
lmao grif
ezio619 - 6/3/2014, 2:17 PM
garrett went insane with the amount of GH in his system at the end and i find it cool that he actually became Clairvoyant at the end..bill paxton is known to be very scenery chewing and relying on his charm and Paxton went FULL ON at the end
Kyos - 6/3/2014, 2:19 PM
Hm, I was always okay with this show, and the second half of the season was getting pretty good. Didn't care for large parts of the finale, though.

Definitely agree about the problems with the momentum, that shit really hurt the show.
Inhuman - 6/3/2014, 2:19 PM
Id like to see them introduce Mockingbird. She has the Hawkeye connection and she can hold her own in the comics
Nomis - 6/3/2014, 2:19 PM
we’re moving to nine, where it can be a little darker, like I think Marvel needs to be.

LAsBruceWayne - 6/3/2014, 2:20 PM
I gave it a chance... I really did.. I was hyped I get to watch some CB tv series connected to the movies I love.. But after about 4 or 5 episodes.. NO, Just NO. Then I seen designs for some of the villians later in the series I see I'm not missing much. Would much rather take a rip of the 2' BatBong and get some 2k14 in....

I tried.. I tried

GliderMan - 6/3/2014, 2:21 PM
I want to see Skye naked and afraid.
soforizo - 6/3/2014, 2:25 PM
Deathlok suit was fine. Not sure what some folks were expecting for a TV budget, they did more than sufficiently showing off some Iron Man like effects.

Anyways, the gradual change to a darker tone really helped this show (minus the hiccup in the finale). This sounds very promising and the schedule change is great if the quality picks up as that of the last 5 or so episodes.
MercwithMouth - 6/3/2014, 2:25 PM
I think moving it until 9 is a great idea. Get it out of NCIS's timeslot. My guess would be a minimum of 2million average viewership rise, simply because of that.
MercwithMouth - 6/3/2014, 2:26 PM
@LAs

2k14? If it ain't EA, it ain't worth it...lol.
Inhuman - 6/3/2014, 2:26 PM
@nomis

I havent seen that video in a minute! LMAOOO... boom goes the dynamite lol
ezio619 - 6/3/2014, 2:26 PM
alphaanddecima-im not giving excuses, just stating my thoughts ..oh well.
Trickwil - 6/3/2014, 2:26 PM
I love the series it totally changed after around episode 8. I love all the people that gave up on the show. It's fine the ratings now are great one of the highest rated shows on ABC and it's just getting better every week
MercwithMouth - 6/3/2014, 2:26 PM
But pass that bong this way...puff puff give...
Inhuman - 6/3/2014, 2:27 PM
Deathlok was fine to me. Maybe in season 2 he gets more [frick]ed up thru the battles and he becomes more like the comics but if they were to just leave him as is, he's fine to me
