We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

MrCBM56 - 3/11/2014, 5:36 PM
Haha that's awesome!
Starfox - 3/11/2014, 5:36 PM
Not to come down on Man of Steel. but this is a much more believeable couple lol.
Chloefornication - 3/11/2014, 5:47 PM
I really want this movie to be good because the first one was so awful that it could turn anyone into a supervillain.
Chloefornication - 3/11/2014, 5:47 PM
The clip is great, btw.

Shut the [frick] up. Please. Don't comment anything that un-relatable, annoying, and or stupid again.
Indy - 3/11/2014, 5:59 PM
LOL its funny.
Starfox - 3/11/2014, 6:03 PM
Whoa. MrCBM56 it was a joke lol.
CaptainObvious - 3/11/2014, 6:05 PM
There was nothing believable about their relationship in the first movie. All they did was stutter, make awkward small talk, act cute, and talk about nothing except Peter. I'm sure there are idiotic couples out there that do act like this, but this is supposed to be taken seriously.

Damn. I'm sorry lol. Bern having a rough day, and the simplest stuff has been annoying me.

WHERE IS THE X MEN TRAILER?!?!?!?!!?!?!? SPIDERMAN IS GOING CRAZY WITH PROMOTION BUT YET WE STILL HAVE NO NEW X MEN FOOTAGE. WTF IS GOING ON? I SMELL A DELAY.........
dannramm113 - 3/11/2014, 6:08 PM
MrCBM56-damn bro! I always thought you were Mr.Politically Correct lol.
Starfox- he has a point, don't bring up anything off topic like that unless you want to evoke a response. That said, Peter and Gwen have some of the best on screen chemistry I have ever seen in a superhero film!
Starfox - 3/11/2014, 6:12 PM
MrCBM56 no problem man. I will try to stay on topic lol. Hope your day gets better though.
Tstubbs - 3/11/2014, 6:13 PM
As it should be. Killing off her character is one thing Marvel admits was a bad choice. She was always a better fit for Peter than MJ
Eustace - 3/11/2014, 6:24 PM
I actively avoid using the word "hipster," but they are acting like a complete hipster couple! It is annoying. They are like that annoying couple next to you at the line at Disneyland.
ComicsBornAndBred - 3/11/2014, 6:24 PM
X men marketing is weak compared to what Marvel's doing and sony are doing for Spider-Man. Singer get yo shit together
Chloefornication - 3/11/2014, 6:25 PM
Happy young people are so annoying, right, Eustace?
Eustace - 3/11/2014, 6:27 PM
The whole plan to create a distraction is also really dumb in my opinion. Did that lady really not notice him shooting a web and taking her coffee? Peter should know better than to use his web shooters in a place like Oscorp, which should be filled with cameras. And as always, the security guys are more useless than a bucket without a bottom.
Eustace - 3/11/2014, 6:29 PM
@Chloefornication
Several young people all are annoying, but definitely not all. Garfield and Stone might create a couple that the general audience might find cute; however, these personalities that they are showing are not how Peter and Gwen should be portrayed.
theowl - 3/11/2014, 6:29 PM

This is as close we can get to a high-school couple! This is almost not acting at all.. Andrew and Emma are dating in real life and you can tell pretty easy.

A lot better than Tobey and Kirsten's Soap Oprah / superhero love.. good movie though

They're kind of obnoxious and I mean Iron Man 2 Pepper Potts and Tony Stark levels of obnoxiousness.

I wanna punch them in the face.
Eustace - 3/11/2014, 6:34 PM
@Pending
Well-said! I did not really mind Tony Stark too much, but Pepper is just so annoying. Gwyneth Paltrow is annoying as herself and as Pepper.
I should probably stop expressing my dislike toward Garfield, Stone, and Paltrow. People are going to start calling me a hater just for expressing my disapproval over how my favorite characters are being portrayed.
Melkaticox - 3/11/2014, 6:41 PM
@MrCBM56 ...Dude. What.
Man of Steel was terrible. It was no better than the Transformers movie. The couple had no chemistry. Jesus symbolism. Tornado scene. Zod's neck.
Come at me.

I'm just hoping this movie ends up satisfying all fans. I'm tired of all the hate this reboot's been getting...
Melkaticox - 3/11/2014, 6:44 PM
And...yeah, I'm actually kinda worried about X-Men, even though I'm not really interested in seeing that movie. Maybe they realized how stupid it was to compete with Spidey AND Godzilla?
blackandyellow - 3/11/2014, 6:46 PM
I bet Gwen likes to get choked when Peter is banging her out. Redheads are into kinky shit.
MrCBM56 - 3/11/2014, 6:55 PM
Melkaticox

It looks like you purposely want me to argue with you. I won't give in to your ignorance lol. Maybe next time.
marvel72 - 3/11/2014, 6:55 PM
not exactly awesome,but i suppose it was half decent.
thewolfx - 3/11/2014, 7:41 PM
@Blackandyellow

Gwen is blonde son
ComicFan523 - 3/11/2014, 7:42 PM
That was good, a little silly but good. I liked the first one so I hope this one turns out okay as well.
DrDoom - 3/11/2014, 7:54 PM
Are you [frick]ing kidding? This is pathetic, and it looks like it has the same bullshit writing and tone as the first movie. You're telling me no one would see him firing that webline? Or that it wouldn't be painfully obvious what he was doing? He would be [frick]ing detained by the security officers. This is the same putrid garbage they pulled when Peter beat up a bunch of civilians on the subway while saying that he was 'sorry'.

Imbecilic.
GarthRanzz - 3/11/2014, 8:00 PM
I want to see her and Norman getting down like in the comics.
DTor91 - 3/11/2014, 8:02 PM
@DrDoom

Hey you know. this is a movie that features a character called Spider-Man right? You know, someone who can't possibly exist. That maybe you just need some suspension of disbelief for? The same way you do so for the comics the movie is inspired by and the same way you do for your name and avatar? Crazy concept right? Oh and the security would definitely detain a super-powered being. Absolutely.
DrDoom - 3/11/2014, 8:05 PM
@DTor

I suspend my disbelief when a story says that a person's entire genetic code can be altered by a spider-bite.

The stuff I'm talking about is internal logic. The people in that room have eyes, and the jobs of security guards haven't changed in the Marvel Universe. It doesn't make sense by its own rules.

Also, the guards have no idea who Peter is, aside from the fact that he is blatantly disrupting/assaulting the security guards, so of course they would try to [frick]ing detain him.
Wildaniel - 3/11/2014, 8:14 PM
The classic funny side of Peter Parker, something the original trilogy was missing.
blackandyellow - 3/11/2014, 8:37 PM
wolfx

Haha damn I was thinking of Emma Stone instead of Gwen.
cwarrior - 3/11/2014, 8:38 PM
@Doom sure sucks to be you if looking for every little thing and I bet when you Cap2 you wont be doing what you're doing now
You just hate this movie just for whatever reason you do
and just in-case someone tries to white knight you just remember to take responsibility for opening your mouth.
Jollem - 3/11/2014, 8:40 PM
garfield is a brilliant physical actor. buster keaton-like. look how much peter has grown as a character already. much different than how he started out. this is a great version of spider-man
Pending - 3/11/2014, 8:57 PM
Oh god was Garfield just compared to Buster Keaton??

Minato - 3/11/2014, 9:16 PM
