“As a comic book fan, I wanted to love that movie so much,”
said Quesada. “I wanted to love it so much, and I didn’t love it so much. Again, there are little things here and there that you could pick at and things like that, but I just think at the end of the day, Zod was the hero of the movie to me.” A very interersting statement indeed. The fact that he sees Zod as a hero in this film more than Superman himself is a very bold statement to make since Superman here is suppose to be the hero.

He added, “He wanted to save his race, and Superman didn’t let him." Quesada talks about what impressed him the most about Zod as a viallin, “Zod, in this particular incarnation, struck me as not necessarily an evil man, but a man of…he had a particular…he had his orders, he had a mission. He was a zealot of sorts, but he was a zealot…again, correct me if I’m wrong… but he didn’t say, ‘I want to rebuild Krypton, and then come back and destroy this little planet. All I want is to rebuild this planet. And the only reason I’m blowing everything to bits here is because you’ve got what I want, and you’re not giving it to me. So please, give me my people, and I’ll leave.”

Joe described his feelings after watching the film, “I was in the mood to watch that Superman movie, and afterwards I was just angry,” said Quesada. What do you guys think? Do you feel that Quesada has a point here? Leave your thoughts down below.

That's what let the movie down for him? Never even heard of him before.

The MOS fans are coming to rip him apart. Gotta see this sh*t.
BatManHeisenberg - 4/27/2014, 10:52 AM
Oh god, here we go.
AlexanderLykins - 4/27/2014, 10:53 AM
Shots fired!
batz11 - 4/27/2014, 10:53 AM
Let it go...
clogan - 4/27/2014, 10:53 AM
Well he was an Anti-Hero definitely in the movie.
BatManHeisenberg - 4/27/2014, 10:53 AM
Are you not a MOS fan, highflyer?
AlexanderLykins - 4/27/2014, 10:53 AM
So who's first?
BatManHeisenberg - 4/27/2014, 10:55 AM
I did like Zod's characterization in this. He felt like Quesada said, a bit of a hero. The thing was that he was willing to kill humans, and that was the bad thing that Superman wasn't letting him do. Joe is confusing me.
Klone - 4/27/2014, 10:55 AM
MoS fans seem to think they are some supreme master race simply because they liked the film a lot of people hated.
MrBatmor - 4/27/2014, 10:55 AM
Here are the popcorn people...1 dollar a pop...
SageMode - 4/27/2014, 10:56 AM
In all fairness, One More Day left me angry.

With that said, MOS sucked.
BatManHeisenberg - 4/27/2014, 10:56 AM
Out of all the complaints I have heard that I don't personally consider valid, but understand it, this one is just weird.
TheFirstAvenger97 - 4/27/2014, 10:56 AM
He was gonna destroy the human race, Superman was the hero. Smh
ScorpioRisin - 4/27/2014, 10:56 AM
Yeah, what a hero, saving his race by sacrificing another. Like Clark said, Krypton had it's chance. Doesn't Cav-El still have the codex on his DNA, anyway?
Can't wait for the 10+ pages of the usual shit-flinging.

MrBatmor - 4/27/2014, 10:57 AM
This thread is gonna be interesting...

All the dc trolls are gonna have a feast here...
Klone - 4/27/2014, 10:57 AM
I'm guessing Quesada and people probably hated Superman because of his "Krypton had its chance" line which came across as heartless.
BatManHeisenberg - 4/27/2014, 10:57 AM
Some can. MAK, I don't, even though I loved it.
AlexanderLykins - 4/27/2014, 10:57 AM
@BatManHeisenberg
He's trying to stir the pot. Man of Steel is one of my guilty pleasures.
DarkGrifter - 4/27/2014, 10:58 AM
Someone disliked Man of Steel? This has surely never occurred before.
DaVinci31 - 4/27/2014, 10:58 AM
SuperDude001 - 4/27/2014, 10:58 AM
I think Quesada is right, but misunderstands it. Like even while Zod was trying to save his race, he was even originally only saving those he deemed good enough. He was a monster even to his own people. And I feel people keep under-rating the artistic side of the film, because the whole point was showing that while Clark wasn't human he was a person of Earth, and from that he was defending his true race by stopping Zod save his that was doomed to begin with.
Klone - 4/27/2014, 10:59 AM
I remember when MoS [frick]tards hated the hell out of Waid, the man responsible for Birthright and Kingdom Come, for hating MoS and ironically enough, these same people who champion Goyer as a great writer will take quotes from MoS (mostly the Jor-El ones) as evidence for Goyer's "supreme" writing when in reality Goyer actually borrowed those lines from Waid and Morrison and MoS was heavily inspired by Birthright! HAHA!
BatManHeisenberg - 4/27/2014, 10:59 AM
I mean, if Joe said something like he hated the pacing, or felt Supes was a bit off, I could understand. That's not to say I agree, but I would at least understand. But Zod a hero? Even though he was going to destroy the entire human race?
TheAbaryMan369 - 4/27/2014, 10:59 AM
How the hell is Supes the bad guy? Was he paying any attention to the movie?! Zod wanted to wipe out the human race just to [frick]ing bring back Krypton! Supes is bad for trying to save the humans? BOOOO
StarYeezus - 4/27/2014, 10:59 AM
Klone - 4/27/2014, 10:59 AM
@Heisenberg

Zod is what I'd call a character with some depth but a terrible villain.
Viltrumite - 4/27/2014, 10:59 AM
Did he even pay attention to the [frick]ing movie?
BatManHeisenberg - 4/27/2014, 10:59 AM
Guilty pleasure?
Klone - 4/27/2014, 11:00 AM
Again, I'm presuming people only viewed Superman as the villain because "Krypton had its chance" came across as heartless and cold.
BatManHeisenberg - 4/27/2014, 11:00 AM
Oh hey, that's me, StarYeezus!!
BatManHeisenberg - 4/27/2014, 11:01 AM
I think he said that because Supes had moved on, MAK.
ScorpioRisin - 4/27/2014, 11:02 AM
@MAK
I hated on Waid alright, not for hating on MOS, but for being such a crybaby bitch. Specially over Zod's death.
That doesn't take away from his work, nor should it.

Klone - 4/27/2014, 11:02 AM
I found Zod's entire plan stupid simply.
StarYeezus - 4/27/2014, 11:02 AM
One question: why couldn't Zod just take some of Kal's blood and go terraform on another planet?
MrBatmor - 4/27/2014, 11:03 AM
@abary zod was designed to protect krypton... He was made like that...

Superman had all the choice... Like telling zod to go to kupit out something...but he didn't...(you might want to stop reading at this point...:P)

Btw I am just kidding... My only problem was Lois lane... She was unnecessary...
BigBossKaz - 4/27/2014, 11:03 AM
I did not like Man of Steel. The Krypton scenes were the only good thing about it. That and Zod.
McNyagano - 4/27/2014, 11:04 AM
"One question: why couldn't Zod just take some of Kal's blood and go terraform on another planet?"

Because David Goyer said so;)
Klone - 4/27/2014, 11:04 AM
The Krypton prologue was probably the most illogical part of the entire film.
