i drew an illustration of superman about 6 years ago and i gave him a beard, the reason? because i imagined he had just returned from space where he was looking for the remains of krypton. i believe they used that for the superman returns film as well but they didnt give brandon routh a beard in the film.
would be interesting if they go with that angle for this film

@CapA That's exactly correct. The only ways I could think of in which he'd be able to "shave" are:

1)He uses blades made of Kryptonite

2)He plucks each hair with his own fingers (which would seem ridiculous)

3)He uses a mirror and uses his heat vision to disintegrate the hairs. (I believe I've seen him do this before).

I agree with nunber 3 as well. He could also be using that as a disguise as a way to travel the world without anyone thinking him as much as a homeless person saving people. Either that or he's lazy.
