Onto the tribute

Folks,

Oh Gusto you old perv,
Why did you have to turn into a turd?

Those who were familiar with Gusto knows that he loved women, both sizes (occasionally Argo). Those who were not familiar with him still knows that he's the token old man who drank beer and is a proud American. He was unbiased and loved all the folks here. May it be a Marvelite, Nolanite or any other -ites.

He was also an accomplished troll hunter, becoming Chief of "teabag army," he commanded that unit to water down the shit that was being tossed between bickering Nolanites and Marvelites. Having that title was not his greatest accomplishment as his induction to uber-exclusive non-existent club of CBMTrolls. was.

Hate or Love Gusto, he brought smiles to our faces until the day he decided to go crazy and post pics of Care Bears, love and religion instead of more Rachel Nichols pictures.

Not quite sure what went down, but Gusto seemed pretty decent. It's unfortunate if he became a problem enough to be banned.

Gusto loved this place, he and i would spend our whole work day on this site 5 days a week, and i call bullshit for having him deleted, he bled CBM even when some left after falling off the site. i dont really comment on any articles anymore because its just not the same around here. and getting rid of him makes it even worse. he and i are like peas and carrots, you never know what your gonna get, and thats all i have to say about that.

It would be nice to get an "official" reason why he isn't on anymore, y'know, from someone "in charge". People keep asking, for a reason. I know I'm still relatively new here, but I've been lurking here long enough to know that Gusto was an elder statesman in good standing. There's a reason "he left". All we're getting is speculation from a few users, an official position would be nice. Might even get people to quit asking why.

Long before I gave up my sanity and started posting here, I would read the comments for shits and giggles.

Gusto, Grif and Teabag were by far the most hilarious people here. They were the "Trinity" (is that a... TRIPLE ENTENDRE?) of Comicbookmovie.com

Gusto , tea and grif were the inspiration for creating this account . I would sit in work bored to death and I would scroll down to the comments ( sometimes not paying attention to the article ) just to see their comments . When gusto went on the love buZz with those strange pictures I tought it was gold . It is a shame he got the boot because he was just a normal dude who wasn't afraid to shoot the shit .

I miss seeing him on here. Every website needs a guy like Gusto.

You know, that guy who you think is way too old to be on website like this, but fits in well and who adds something to the site.

I hope I'm lucky enough to still be into comic book related media when I'm his age.

@SHHH What advertisers exactly? I did hear he was told to tone it down with the pictures. Then after that, he started to post all those caring and religious pictures.

Next day I come on here and people kept mentioning he had been banned.

Gusto was always true to himself. He defied labels and shunned stereotypes. He liked comics and CBM's but never took it all too seriously.

Many here wonder why Gusto went out the way he did. I think that, like grunge music icon Kurt Cobain, he decided it was better to burn out than fade away.

He was a master of the random pic and always knew just when to post something awesome and hilarious when the "-ite" wars were raging.

He was a proud American but we all know he was secretly Canadian, which explained his enjoyment of being drunk off his ass on beer.

Favourite catch phrase (when teased about being old): "You bastards!"

Favourite animal mascots: Rapist Turtle and Battle Goat.

Favourite comics character and CBM: Green Lantern (the movie especially)

Favourite random obsessions: Home Alone, kayaks, Teabag's sex life.

He is survived here at CBM.com by his many friends and his lover SuperArgo, with whom he maintained a low key but loving relationship.

Oh and I think he had a job somewhere too.

Will Gusto ever return? No one knows, for now we will just have to be happy remembering the good times we had with the old fart.

To Gusto, wherever he may be passed out.
