IS THIS THE FINAL FORM OF THE LIZARD
These are reportedly leaks from the exclusive footage shown at this years San Diego Comic-Con. Surprisingly, the footage never leaked on the internet so this one remains a possibility rather than a fact...for now.

THIS IS AT LEAST ONE FORM OF THE LIZARD
It's been confirmed repeatedly through the film's toyline that the Lizard will look like the below concept art at some point during the film. As mentioned above, the burning question now is whether Doc Conners will undergo a final transformation to a more "snouty" version.

NO DAILY BUGLE IN THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN
Director Marc Webb confirmed in an interview with Empire that the movie firmly centers on Peter's high school years and will not step inside the doors of The Daily Bugle. However, Webb does say that the newspaper will at least be mentioned.

TO BE PROTO-GOBLIN OR NOT TO BE....
Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan was originally slated to play a character named Van Atter, who many took to be a different take on Van Adder who is known in the comic book world as Proto-Goblin. However, recently Sony has unveiled on the official website that Khan will now play a character titled Dr. Ratha. Is Proto-Goblin being cut from the movie during the recent re-shoots or were fans simply reaching with this one?

SPIDER-MAN WILL STILL BE AN UNHERALDED HERO
In Raimi's Spider-Man movies, by the end of the trilogy Spider-Man was a pretty popular, well-liked hero in NYC. Look's like Webb is taking the ol' web-head back to his unpopular hero roots.

DUNST AND MAGUIRE WANTED CAMEOS BUT SONY SAID NO THANK YOU
The quirky beauty, Kirsten Dunst stated that both she and Tobey Maguire had hoped to make a cameo in Sony's reboot of the Spider-Man franchise but the top Execs at Sony were having none of it.

SPEAKING OF DUNST, NO UPSIDE-DOWN KISS FOR GWEN
Emma Stone revealed that you'll be disappointed if you expect to see a reenactment of the famous kiss from Raimi's Spider-Man franchise. Said Stone, "Why would we do an upside-down kiss? I’m not Mary Jane. I’m Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Man film. New girl. New kiss,” said Stone, adding, “I wanted to do different kisses to make our mark.”

THE FILM'S CLIMACTIC BATTLE PITS SPIDEY AGAINST A LIZARD ARMY

Another rumor confirmed by the film's toyline reveals that in the climatic showdown with the Lizard, Spidey will be forced to go through an entire SWAT team that's been transformed into Lizard Men before getting to the topdog..er.. Lizard himself.

RHYS IFANS DEBUTS HIS LIZARD VOICE
Josh Horowitz looks like he's about to crap his pants.

WEBSHOOTERS FTW!!!!!

WILL CHRISTOPHER WALTZ CAMEO AS NORMAN OSBORN
Potentially a huge goof by Sony's own Playstation Network, a download of the Amazing Spider-Man trailer listed Christopher Waltz as a member of the cast. It was rumored very early on in the production that Waltz was up for the role of a villain and many assumed that he was in talks for the Lizard but maybe we were mistaken all along? Was the whole thing simply a mistake by Sony or did they give away something big?

STAN LEE REVEALS HIS CAMEO

IS THIS GWEN ATTENDING CAPT. STACY'S FUNERAL?

Unfortunately, the Amazing Spider-Man has been in the shadows of The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises in terms of fan anticipation. However, many people believe that the film could be the dark horse of next summers superhero box office battle. Personally, I'm leaning towards the ladder as I think the film's production and cast interviews have a similar tone to what we saw when the Batman Begins reboot was announced. Regardless, we'll all see how this film turns out come July 3rd.

Well If we r to include web-shooters, we should also consider Peter's Parents as it is likelly going to be the heart of the whole franchise. Great article, had missed the Stanlee Cameo reveal. Happy New Year!!
brickarts295 - 12/31/2011, 3:04 PM
Christoph Waltz and Jessee Eisenberg as Norman and Harry Osborn. That sounds right in my opinion !
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 12/31/2011, 3:11 PM
According to PrettyyMuchIt on youtube, it's not really gonna be as dark asthe trailer maks it out to be, he said at the Comi Con panel with the footage shown, Both Spidey and Pete were being quite the smart asses.
Helena - 12/31/2011, 3:16 PM
What I love about the webshooters is that they actually look homemade. They appear to have been made out of watches. There's a MacGyver at the Parker's.
superotherside - 12/31/2011, 3:23 PM
Very good write up as always Graphic City.

Wasn't there a spoiler thing that was thought to be fan fic that kinda sounds a lot like the real thing now?
SHHH - 12/31/2011, 3:30 PM
Is Norman Osborne In This?
ThreeBigTacos - 12/31/2011, 3:40 PM
superotherside: isn't that the whole swat team thing you're talking about? It was rumored to be similar to Aliens or something like that I think...
EditNinja - 12/31/2011, 3:50 PM
Great round-up article!
Thanks for posting all the links and pics.
MrHulkSmashin - 12/31/2011, 3:54 PM
I hate when people.... well, hate on a movie before it's done. If you don't like a character or movie, that's fine - but you don't need to read every stinking article pertaining to the film and telling us how much it sucks. If you really think it's gonna be sh!t, then stay away from it.
grifter - 12/31/2011, 4:01 PM
Wait a minute.. Johnathan Nolan wrote the screenplay?
MarkJulian - 12/31/2011, 4:03 PM
@grifter Damn it, I was trying to update that before someone noticed, lol. I copied that from my TDKR spoiler post.
grifter - 12/31/2011, 4:05 PM
Lol I was about to go crazy. That would have been great, GC. Ah well I hope this is a great movie. I will see it regardless because I love spidey.
grifter - 12/31/2011, 4:09 PM
Can Christopher Waltz pull off an American accent? I have never heard him use one.
SageMode - 12/31/2011, 4:13 PM
Excellent write up Graphic City. This Spider-Man movie series is definitely gonna put Raimi's to shame (not that it shamed itself enough).
Helena - 12/31/2011, 4:16 PM
@grifter In Carnage. Nicely too. But the movie is overrated.
Spidey31 - 12/31/2011, 4:19 PM
SHHH I dot think he is in the first movie but he could be remember the set photos stop coming and then randomly started showing up agai? Idk but he will be in the trilogy I know that for sure because of the company he is probably gonna be watching Peter and in the sequel he is gonna use Harry as a stepping ladder to get to Peter and then in the third movie we'll see a battle between GG and spiderman. EPIC!
Spidey31 - 12/31/2011, 4:20 PM
Grifter he pulled off a good old American accent in water for elephants
spideyboy - 12/31/2011, 4:27 PM
The climatic battle sounds epic... very Spidey-ish
grifter - 12/31/2011, 4:39 PM
Ah okay, Thank you Helena and Spidey31. I'll check those movies out and see or rather hear for my self. :P
Spidey31 - 12/31/2011, 4:50 PM
Grifter just know he did a 1930's accent in water for elephants
TheRaven20 - 12/31/2011, 4:50 PM
After seeing that second lizard pic from the comic con, it appears to me that the concept we saw is the final design and just at that angle his face is potruding out more thus the appearance of a longer snout.
DCnerd46 - 12/31/2011, 4:50 PM
This movie will own.
laughterman26 - 12/31/2011, 4:57 PM
ill tell you guys about it cause it comes out earlier in australia but if this movie is shit wait sorry it cant be its got stan lee in it and that poster saying wanted looks like black suit spider man and why would the revrert back to the black and white wanted posters
Ranger14 - 12/31/2011, 5:06 PM
"I hate when people.... well, hate on a movie before it's done."

In the same token, how can people gush all over a movie before its done? Never quite understood what the difference is between either. If there is enough information for people to gush over a movie, then there is enough information for people to be critical. Being critical shouldn't qualify people as haters. Sure, if someone says it is going to be shit and suck...but many just offer constructive criticism and get labeled as haters. Everyone has their opinion, likes and dislikes. None should be discounted and forums are all about voicing those opinions.
thewolfx - 12/31/2011, 5:27 PM
SPOILER ALERT

spideys new suit sucks and lizard looks like a goomba

this movie better be as good if not better then spiderman 2

or ima shit allover it
Helena - 12/31/2011, 5:31 PM
@Ranger14 Very well said. I don't think saying "This Summer, WB presents... THE LITTLEST BANE!" is being a hater, just making fun of something funny that everyone can tell. Grif does make me laugh though, he is kind of adorable in his hate with that avatar.
Bandrews1 - 12/31/2011, 5:35 PM
I think this movie is gonna turn out being one the biggest surprises next year and wind up being better than what ppl are expecting. I also think it may be better than The Avengers imo, I mean it might not make as much money but I think it will be the better movie. I kinda wish Sony would change the release date since it comes out a couple of weeks before TDKR, which is not really a smart move.
MassExecutions - 12/31/2011, 5:38 PM
I think we're making a false assumption that there are two forms of the Lizard. I think the Lizard's face could look that long in profile and still have the front on appearance we see in the other examples.
dellamorte1872 - 12/31/2011, 5:46 PM
i doubt the LIZARD develops the "snout" guarantee if the LIZARD ARMY of SWAT guys is true, that one of em

@fsucsu JUST BECAUSE UR A DUMBASS NOLANITE DOESNT GIVE U THE POWER TO SLAG OFF WHAT WILL BE THE 2ND BEST SUPERHERO MOVIE OF THE YEAR BEHIND THE AVENGERS AND IN FRONT OF GHOST RIDER IN 3RD AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST UR POOR DELUSIONAL DORK KNIGHT
comicdudeman - 12/31/2011, 7:32 PM
I really want this movie to be good. I doubt it will be. Christopher waltz as Norman osbourne sounds awesome though
Jefferys - 12/31/2011, 7:43 PM
This movie looks like the shit.
yossarian - 12/31/2011, 3:42 PM

Don't worry buddy, I have your back. Sometimes I forget words as well.

As for the movie, I can't wait. I never thought I'd say this but forget TDKR or the Avengers! Bring on the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. I just only wish this movie was being released earlier cause I am so PUMPED right now!
mayo23 - 12/31/2011, 8:09 PM
@ Ranger14

It might seem fair for people to be "critical" (but why not just call it trolling in this context?) just like people who "gush over" a film before it's released, but things can never be that clear cut or simple. Your argument is just a weak reason to condone trolling. There's also a point when enough is enough with the constant hating. Obviously, there's a few people on here that go out of there way to troll every single article about this movie. So what's the point? Why do they even bother, just go discuss a movie they're looking forward to? Are they even giving criticism anymore, rather than just hating because they're butt hurt? If anything, their constant need to hate on a movie they haven't seen is more beyond reason and immature than a people who "gush" and are excited for a film they've yet to see (would you go to every Justin Bieber concert to hate on him? I hope one wouldn't waste their time). If they don't like the direction film is going, then fine they can give "constructive criticism", but if they resort posting stupid complaints for every article then it's just obnoxious and unneeded negativity (yes, I'm aware there are also obnoxious "gushers" - made up a word there). Is it as irritating for haters to see people being excited for this film as it is the other way around? If it is, then go watch the Raimi films and stop bringing down the mood for people who are actually excited for ASM.
manymade1 - 12/31/2011, 8:19 PM
I had my doubts at first about this film, but it's actually looking good.
Spidey31 - 12/31/2011, 8:23 PM

Damn FSUCSU did you get sand in your vagina or something? Chill out, no need to get hostle.
xcan28 - 12/31/2011, 10:54 PM
500 days of summer = Cool.

Web Shooters = Cool.

The rest of this nonsense regarding the "Amazing" Spider-man = bomb in waiting.

See you at the movies!
ThreeBigTacos - 12/31/2011, 10:56 PM
prettynuclear: (I agree just adding to your point) This isn't the 60's any more. Nerds are not the same as they were back then, which is something I think most people forget when they see this. Raimi's nerdy Parker was his time's version. Webb's nerd version of Parker fits perfectly in with today's association of the word.
TheMaster - 1/1/2012, 12:00 AM
Hmm... where have I seen this amount of hating before for a reboot only shortly after an 'original' trilogy... Aaaah thats right - First Class, a film that turned out really rather well and was almost universally praised (and still holds an 85% Rotten Rating).
I'm enthusiastic about the trailer, I was worried this was going to be some useless filler to stop Sony from loosing the license, but I can't help but think its going to be pretty good (odd suit-shoes not withstanding). Hopefully we're entering an era when studios actually look at fan reactions to these movies rather than tell us what they want.
What I fear won't work is the reboot of Batman. Nolan's films thus far are so good that we all might look back for the glory days of batman on screen...
That said - if TDKR is a stinker we'll all be crying out for it (odds of this seem pretty slim though...)
Spidey31 - 1/1/2012, 12:40 AM
@themaster agreed bro
DangerKiD - 1/1/2012, 12:58 AM
I'm waiting for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 featuring the Sinister Six! That would be EPic!
SmithWillSuffice - 1/1/2012, 1:23 AM
Web shooters, Gwen Stacy, Spidey as an outlaw and a story that takes place during High School. This movie is fixing a lot of the stuff the Raimi movies did wrong. I believe this will be the surprise of next summer, just as X-MEN: First Class was.
CaptainAmazing - 1/1/2012, 1:40 AM
I like the fact that they're going back to Spidey's roots. And I mean his DEEP roots. Throwing his parents in there? That's still awesome, and something that the original trilogy never even touched on. I don't mind the reboot, but only simply because SM3 was such a major disappointment to me. I want a faithful, reinterpretation of the character, and I feel like I may get it here.

On a different note, I would like the see Dunst and Macguire make cameos. Sony should just let them do that at some point. Make Macguire a pizza delivery guy and Dunst in a commercial or something. I could dig that.
joeker - 1/1/2012, 2:15 AM
This film may be the sleeper it may as you said be the dark whore *ahem!* I mean horse I prefer Raimi version in sense of organic web shooters and suit and NO [frick]ing retard trainers and stupid GO - FASTER stripes down the legs, I mean WTF? I thought new captain America new suit for avengers or bane was [frick]ed but this shit is a whole new ball game
marvel72 - 1/1/2012, 2:29 AM
this movie will be great,as good as if not better than spider-man 2.

spider-man 2 was pretty dark in places.
BatSlam - 1/1/2012, 9:58 AM
If spidey is a smart ass then I will be so extremely happy. It is something that was completely missing in all of the raimi films, and it is a huge part of the spider-man world. To be a nerd, then you put a mask on and now you can talk shit and be a bad ass, it is kind of every nerds wish, you can say what you really want to say and pete gets away with it.
