With an April release date, we now have confirmation that Captain America 2 is the first film on Marvel's 2014 release schedule. Of course, Marvel usually puts out 2 films a year (unless it's an Avengers year) so it's safe to assume that another Marvel film will be released later in the year. With Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 being released in 2013, we have a distinct possibility of seeing a brand new hero getting a debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe come Summer/Fall 2014. Ant-man? Doctor Strange? Inhumans? Luke Cage? Or maybe another Hulk movie or a solo film for Black Widow or Hawkeye?

For now, let's look at Captain America 2. There's a number of villains to choose from with Cap now set in modern times. Maybe Baron Zemo, Madame Hydra, Baron von Strucker, Red Skull, Sin, Taskmaster or maybe....Winter Soldier?

You could get a nice flashback juxtaposition with Baron Zemo or should I say Zemo's with Cap fighting both the original and the son in flashbacks and modern times. The same could be true for HYDRA with Baron von Strucker
and Madame Hydra. Or maybe Red Skull reappears in modern times? Who knows what happened to him after being zapped by the Cosmic Cube. Or maybe we stay grounded in modern times with Cap 2 taking a more espionage approach and utilizing Taskmaster or Winter Soldier as the main villain?

Vote below and sound off in the comments sections with who you wish to see exchange fisticuffs with Cap in his second solo film?

Captain America: The First Avenger is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America. It is the fifth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was directed by Joe Johnston, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Neal McDonough, Derek Luke, and Stanley Tucci. Predominantly set during World War II, the film tells the story of Steve Rogers, a sickly man from Brooklyn who is transformed into super-soldier Captain America to aid in the war effort. Rogers must stop the Red Skull – Adolf Hitler's ruthless head of weaponry, and the leader of an organization that intends to use a device called a "tesseract" as an energy-source for world domination.

Screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus said in April 2011 that they have been writing a sequel for Marvel Studios. In a June 2011 interview, they said, "The story will likely be in the present day. We're experimenting with flashback elements for more period World War II stuff. I can't say much more than that but we made it baggy enough to refer to more stories in the past". In September 2011, Chris Evans said that a sequel may not be released until 2014. In January 2012, Neal McDonough mentioned that a sequel would likely be filmed after the completion of Thor 2, which would likely be before the end of 2012.

In March 2012, it was reported that Marvel has whittled down a field of ten directors to three potential candidates; George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau), F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job) and brothers Anthony and Joseph Russo (Community) to helm the sequel.[130] In April 2012, Walt Disney Studios announced that it will release the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger on April 4, 2014. Disney stated, "The second installment will pick-up where … The Avengers leaves off, as Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world."
