It's expected that given the subject matter, the film will have a hard R-rating. The lead role of Ig Perrish is said to be a definite departure from Radcliffe's most famous role, Harry Potter. "“It’s a very, very different type of part than anything I’ve done before,” said Radlciffe. He goes on to describe the film as "“deeply emotional and also incredibly outrageous in some ways. To play somebody who, in the midst of a time in his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character — it was very, very exciting.”

Horns is a 2010 dark fantasy novel by Joe Hill and is the author's second published novel. The novel also incorporates elements of contemporary fantasy, crime fiction, and Gothic fiction. It employs the third-person omniscient, nonlinear narrative in telling the story of Ig Perrish, who—in the aftermath of his girlfriend Merrin Williams' mysterious rape and murder—awakes one morning to find horns growing from his head and diabolical powers at his command.

Joseph Hillstrom King (born June 4, 1972), better known by the pen name Joe Hill, is an American author and comic book writer. He has published two novels—Heart Shaped Box and Horns—and a collection of short stories entitled 20th Century Ghosts. He is also the author of the comic book series Locke & Key. Hill's parents are authors Stephen and Tabitha King.

He has his trademark 'im gonna go wrist deep on your ass while your sleeping ' look

guy creeps me out :D
JoshWilding - 10/3/2012, 6:27 AM
He was decent enough in the last few Potter movies, but isn't a good actor...at all. Here, he just looks unconvincing, and as tea points out, a creep!
Wingding - 10/3/2012, 6:28 AM
Honestly, I have no idea why I clicked on this...

@teabag
ROTFL! Oh man, that's nasty, but oh so true XD
boulton666 - 10/3/2012, 6:28 AM
Won't EVERY role he plays be forever described as "a departure from his 'Harry Potter' character"?
GetsugaTensho22 - 10/3/2012, 6:31 AM
I've read about the story. Basically those horns corrupt him or something, right? Sounds pretty meh...like something you'd see on a cheap teen heart-throb version of X-files.
BUT.....there's ways to do it right. Who knows? this might be really good too.
BattlinMurdock - 10/3/2012, 6:31 AM
It's a departure from Harry Potter, but the only way this movie will make money is because it stars Harry Potter.
toco89 - 10/3/2012, 6:42 AM
So basically he got cheated on and now he's horny. I really do like Radcliffe though.
lokibane2012 - 10/3/2012, 6:48 AM
Radcliffe might as well give up. There's no way his shit acting skills can sustain a career now that Potter's dead.
lokibane2012 - 10/3/2012, 6:49 AM
^But then again, James Franco is getting big movie roles and Oscar nominations, so what do I know
hellfire - 10/3/2012, 6:51 AM
Not sure something about that picture just creeps me out like Jimmy Savile holding a Fix It medal in one hand and a bag of sweets in the other.
LeoAtrox - 10/3/2012, 6:57 AM
Nope. I don't get it. Why doesn't that jacket have a zipper? Why buttons?
longbowhunter - 10/3/2012, 6:59 AM
I've been curious about this book. Locke & Key is great.

@ teabag

can't beat a good old fashioned fisting.
Bandrews1 - 10/3/2012, 7:11 AM
This sounds kinda interesting.
preacher - 10/3/2012, 7:17 AM
This is a FANTASTIC book! And no, the horns don't "corrupt" him. They allow him to see the corruption in others plus they give him powers over snakes, he can bring out the worst in others, ect. The book kept me guessing all the way to the end. I'm actually surprised to find out this IS getting made after all. I've heard in the past it had been optioned for a film but didn't think it'd ever happen. NEVER pictured Radcliffe as Ig Parrish tho. I think it could work. Highly anticipating this one!
KrazyForKomix - 10/3/2012, 7:17 AM
He's the WORST actor EVER!
Um . . .
er, unless you count about a thousand others.
give it a rest.
UniBeam11 - 10/3/2012, 7:23 AM
why does he always have to have attention drawn to his forehead?
teabag - 10/3/2012, 7:25 AM
hell@ now then now then ;)

marvel@ lol unless you use that fist to beat something else ;)
hellfire - 10/3/2012, 7:34 AM
Tea@ haha yeah maybe a little too close to the knuckle.
BIGBMH - 10/3/2012, 7:36 AM
@toco89, :) Well phrased.
JonathaNisMagnuM - 10/3/2012, 7:38 AM
This kid should've stopped at the Harry Potter Films. It isn't like he's hurting for Money, If you can retire at 20 w/ millions of Dollars & always make more on the side on your past films, why not? Typecasting, even though its rare nowadays, still exists. This kid is proof
teabag - 10/3/2012, 7:39 AM
Hell@ Aparently thats how he liked it :)
BlackFlash - 10/3/2012, 7:46 AM
@JonathaNisMagnuM - You do know that some people act because they want to and not because of how much money they get, are you trying to say that every actor out there that has earned a certain amount of money should just stop.
teabag - 10/3/2012, 7:50 AM
If he had retired i wouldnt of seen this pic and i'd save money on therapy :)
hueyfreeman - 10/3/2012, 7:52 AM
that open shirt makes him look pretty... HAIRY!

he looks awfully creepy, but I think that stems from the fact that i as an audience member have watched this guy grow up. I have a very specific image in my head of what he should look like. not matching up to that is a little jarring.

and he's just kind of creepy.
teabag - 10/3/2012, 7:56 AM
He has that face that tells me he would break into my house ..drug me..tie me up..then make me watch him molest my cat

and i dont like those memories coming back :)
SWelch - 10/3/2012, 8:03 AM
@Preacher

I agree, the book was great and it kept me guessing to the very end as well.

Also love Heart Shaped Box. When I worked at barnes & Noble I read the advance copy for HSB and sent in a review. The publisher then sent me a HC copy signed by Joe Hill. It said "Steve- If this was a record it would be very very LOUD- Best Joe Hill"

I look forward to seeing the movie. Never saw the Potter movies(or read the books) so I will give Radlcliffe a chance.

Though I have to wonder to those here who claim to say he is a terrible actor just how many of you actually saw the Potter movies. Or you are you saying that because you just hate the books and are basing your opinions on that not on actually seeing the movies.

teabag - 10/3/2012, 8:06 AM
Anyone can star in a harry potter movie and spout out a load of gobbledegoop and look like a thesp

Now Woman In Black showed me he is an average and awkward actor :)
hellfire - 10/3/2012, 8:17 AM
For me the highlight of that film was when the train hit.
Fogs - 10/3/2012, 8:47 AM
Hairy potter.

@preacher - so if he commands snakes it isn't that much of a HP departure after all.
mr2324jgf - 10/3/2012, 8:54 AM
I'm hardly a fanboy... so trust me when I say, his acting was pretty solid on broadway, saw "how to succeed" while in NYC last year. He's always going to be living down/up being Harry Potter... it's just how it goes (Mark Hamill as Luke for instance). That said, the premise of the movie seems ok... I'll give it a go
Benedict - 10/3/2012, 8:56 AM
Stfu, Grif. You're embarrassing yourself. The joke's old...
Benedict - 10/3/2012, 8:56 AM
LOL JK, HE'S A SHIT ACTOR
justified1 - 10/3/2012, 9:04 AM
I would like to read this.

See how his writing compares to his dad
TurdFergunson - 10/3/2012, 9:38 AM
@Grif "shit horns"

haha.

The producers of this film are riding the left-over wave of Harry Potter and hoping all his fanboys an fangirls will go see this just cause he is in it. Me? Never seen on Harold Pooper movie so this dude an his horns can go drink a nice cold can of [frick] off.
Wallymelon - 10/3/2012, 9:40 AM
oooo scary
MrSuperheromoviefan - 10/3/2012, 9:50 AM
so fake
Greengo - 10/3/2012, 9:50 AM
LOL.
spider1489 - 10/3/2012, 10:05 AM
the plot sounds interesting, but harry potter ? those horns............... hmmmmmmmmm....... i think i can wait for dvd but lets see what the trailer has to offer
KrazyForKomix - 10/3/2012, 10:50 AM
I love how the nerd-gentsia has turned on Radcliffe. It allows them to distance themselves from the love they had for the Potter-wave, which apparently isn't cool anymore.
It's their proof that they've all grown up.
teabag - 10/3/2012, 11:12 AM
so thats why his face always creeps me out..harry potter isnt cool anymore!!!

thank you krazy

;)
SuspenseSmith - 10/3/2012, 11:13 AM
Radcliffe just looks like a creepy has-been pedophile now desperate to shake his "kiddy" image.

My Greek father always said in a thick accent.
"If you want to have best sex of your life...you take goat to the edge of the cliff so he pushes back."

Already got my tix lined up on fandango.
mctrinket - 10/3/2012, 12:27 PM
Wonder how Mr. Hill ever got his book deal....
