Recently a bunch of items from the Man of Steel set showed up on various auction lists. For those that don't know this is pretty standard Hollywood procedure. Included on the list were a bunch of items used by Lois Lane including 3 straws, 3 blue pens, 2 hi-lighters, a post-it pad, pencils, a Rent-a-car receipt and a (faux) diamond wedding ring. All usual stuff...wait diamond wedding ring? In all seriousness, this raises some interesting possibilities for Amy Adams' can-do reporter gal. Is it possible that Lois is divorced in Man of Steel or engaged to someone else? In comic book history, Lois has dated a few other men besides Clark Kent including Jonathan Carroll (DCnU), Lex Luthor and a couple of others (help me out in the comments section, it's late and I'm drawing a blank). There's also the possibility that the ring is from Clark and he proposes to Lois by the end of the film. We'll definitely have to keep our eyes peeled during the next trailer and see if we can spot Lois with it on.

It shouldn't bother me this much, but I kinda wished Lois had black hair.
TheSuperguy - 2/24/2013, 10:14 PM
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 2/24/2013, 10:17 PM
or maybe it's her mom's diamond ring... seeing as her mom is dead -_-
CavEl - 2/24/2013, 10:28 PM
If she's married, she's a cheating hefer cause her and Henry share a pationate kiss in the comic con trailer...I mean full fledge tounge near X-rated kiss.

@ KingEmperor - Shouldn't bother you...like at all...

Ever wonder why that bunghole RBFN bitches about everything about this movie except the fact that Lois Lane is a red-head? It's because John Byrne made her a red head in the '90s.
CavEl - 2/24/2013, 10:29 PM
And rbfn would have John Byrne's babies if Bryne asked him to. -_-
MrEko - 2/24/2013, 10:31 PM
Lois Lane did date Bruce Wayne... AND was engaged to him too, maybe it's a Wayne cameo, lol. j/k. Yeah, it's probably her deceased mom's wedding ring, a keepsake of hers.

superotherside - 2/24/2013, 10:31 PM
I'm betting it's a ring that is a fake set up for her going undercover. They did the same in Superman 2.

Or maybe it's her Mom's ring or something... speculation could be endless.
CavEl - 2/24/2013, 10:31 PM
Also, I'm more interested in why Lois has 3 straws...o_0
Tymminator - 2/24/2013, 10:33 PM
We will see.
superotherside - 2/24/2013, 10:34 PM
I got an idea! Maybe Lex proposes to her and she says no. But keeps the ring? Well, maybe she doesn't say no right away... IDK coming up with a blank here too... lol
Asterisk - 2/24/2013, 10:34 PM
I really wish this movie wasn't an origin.
Foxpaw - 2/24/2013, 10:34 PM
So, it's not Martha's?
CavEl - 2/24/2013, 10:36 PM
@ MrEko - No Justice League cameos in Man of Steel, it's a stand alone movie as far as WB/Goyer/Snyder are concerned.

If it's a sucess, Henry will, sadly, be implemented in their shared universe. If it isn't, well, WB can move on with the Batman reboot and keep making them for 20 years.
DEATHbyEXILE - 2/24/2013, 10:38 PM
CavEl - 2/24/2013, 10:42 PM
@ Foxpaw - Nope, Martha's still alive an kicking. And Clark just met Lois in this movie.

@ Asterisk - Why? Superman is long overdue for an origin tale on the big screen. The last time he had one was in 1978...35 years ago...

@ MrEko - And I don't think Lois and Bruce ever dated, I know that assclown Bruce Timm made it so in the World's Finest movie, but that's cause he's douche and he wanted to make Superman look like a puss and Batman look badass. In the top comic, Lois was already married to Clark and she was flirting with Bruce to find out why he was here. I don't know where the second is from, must be a dream.

@ Superotherside - I love it, it would make the beef between Lex and Superman all the more personal.
AztecRainGod - 2/24/2013, 10:47 PM
Uh oh, cue the angry comic book purist mob.....
Jollem - 2/24/2013, 10:47 PM
MrEko - 2/24/2013, 10:48 PM
JaketheSuperguy, Oh don't get me wrong. That was a tongue in cheek post about Wayne. At the risk of sounding insane, I actually don't want Snyder's Man of Steel to have anything to do with the proposed Justice League movie.

With the disastrous pre-production cycle of JL going on, I'd rather WB didn't taint MOS by dragging Snyder and Cavill into that crazy circus. They can cast Joe Manganiello as supes in JL for all I care, as long as I get an awesome MOS trilogy free from WB's stupidity.
MarkJulian - 2/24/2013, 10:52 PM
Would be weird for Lois to have her mom's ring and not her dad, General Lane. But it's possible I guess.
MrEko - 2/24/2013, 10:52 PM
@JakeTheSuperguy, about the second panel it's from an old old silver age Superman series, it's actually a "what if" tale. If I recall correctly, Bruce and Lois get married, they have a baby, Superman & Robin are both jealous... it's pretty hilarious.
CavEl - 2/24/2013, 10:58 PM
@ MarkJullian - Maybe her pops is still alive. The military are playing a heavy role in this movie.
MarkJulian - 2/24/2013, 11:03 PM
I know he's alive, I'm saying he's a more likely candidate to possess the ring of his dead wife.
thalidomide - 2/24/2013, 11:04 PM
Not really a big deal.
AC1 - 2/24/2013, 11:08 PM
Maybe Lois robs a jewelery store?
DEATHbyEXILE - 2/24/2013, 11:10 PM

SkaarJones - 2/24/2013, 11:16 PM
If she's married, Superman's relationship better be with WW. Superman can not be a living example of goodness, morals and restraint while having a relationship with someone's wife.
Jollem - 2/24/2013, 11:22 PM
instead of wondering if lois and clark put a ring on it, i'm more curious about the straws. why the hell straws?
DangerRoom - 2/24/2013, 11:27 PM
Honestly, would it have been so hard to dye her hair...?
Jollem - 2/24/2013, 11:35 PM
i wonder why lois has a rent-a-car receipt?

AmazingFantasy - 2/24/2013, 11:38 PM
Oh [frick] off...

I'm so excited for this but the comic book geek in my doesnt agree.
kemuael - 2/25/2013, 12:21 AM
somebody is going to get cheated on, like lois will always be a tramp(-_-)
mgeoff88 - 2/25/2013, 12:35 AM
That's interesting. She could be married or engaged.

And I honestly don't see Superman popping the question in the first movie.

@DangerRoom It's not really a big deal. Lois Lane has had red hair in the comics before:

ShredNadin - 2/25/2013, 12:43 AM
@JakeTheSuperGuy - the straws are to breathe through when she's craving a cigarette, she just quit.
sahin86 - 2/25/2013, 12:46 AM
Happy11 - 2/25/2013, 2:16 AM
Why does it matter about her hair colour, look how much it improved Bosworth's performance not. Some of you are so petty hair colour, no red pant or supermans hair curl. A character originally from the 30s has to evolve or it won't work on film or comic. I for one can't wait for this movie and because my expectations aren't like they were with TDKR I can see me being surprised like I was with Batman Begins.
EarOne - 2/25/2013, 2:57 AM
maaannn...i do share superguy15's sentiment...PLEASE, let's not repeat what singer (dumbass-ly) did in superman returns by having this b.s. love triangle whatever in this reboot. let's just focus on the- well..MAN OF STEEL, superman.

but..if they do have lois married, or in a relationship with another dude..that might explain why they cast the "too old for the part" Amy Adams for the role. as you can tell..i still wish snyder had cast someone younger, like rachel mcadams or michelle monaghan as lois.
thedude2936 - 2/25/2013, 5:00 AM
@imadick, actually Margot Kidder is the ugliest Lois Lane ever.
GenerationX - 2/25/2013, 5:27 AM
Amy Adams is a gorgeous woman...who knows why she has a ring
Facade - 2/25/2013, 5:48 AM
I'm gonna bid on the post-it note pad...Staples ran out.
Supersonicboobs - 2/25/2013, 5:53 AM
