Three New Images From EVIL DEAD

The buzz has died down a bit from the first red band trailer for Sony's Evil Dead reboot but the film should enjoy a good word of mouth box office boost based on early reviews from critics. In the meantime, here are three new stills.

This movie seems...shallow. It's missing a vital element, but I just can't for the life of me think what it could possibly-oh yeah...Ash.

I might give it a try. It looks almost too disturbing to watch though.

^^^I didn't mind the reboot of Nightmare. I liked how Jackie Earl Haley put his own twist on Freddy instead of just trying to be a duplicate of Englund.

But watching it does make me miss ol' Robbie as the Springwood Slasher.

shocktill youdrop actually gave this movie a bad review its been mixed so far. I guess the lack of ash is a big problem for some people which is for me as well. Im gonna see it but I probably wont like the fact that its a basic horror film with evil dead elements with the characters doing stupid shit and lack common sense is what ash had he [frick]ed up the deadites.

This movie is not going to be for the wimps.

And so far 80% have posted their manliness.

Stick with the WRECKER!

LEVITIKUZ

The film played the sympathy as a twist for the plot until viewers found out he was worse than the original Freddy.

I don't think much sympathy was felt then.

@LEVI
I liked Jackie in the Nightmare reboot. Didn't think the movie itself was that great, but I was glad they went back to the actual scary tone of the first film. I'm hoping there's a sequel.

This is the only remake that springs to mind that has been so well received, apart from maybe Let Me In.
We all know remakes are heartless and are just going after the wallets of the built-in fanbase, without having to actually work hard at all for the money. This looks like the complete opposite and people seem to be really digging it.

Sweet! Can not wait.

@TankD Shock Til You Drop was the only negative review I could find for it.

IDK Englund is Freddy. I think Jackie just played it too straight laced "i'm an evil bad guy". I think Levitikuz got it right to compare Freddy to the Joker. Freddy works better when he's got that devilish smirk on his face.

Now I hope this new Evil Dead is fantastic and gets supported, because it looks like Sam is writing AOD2 (like he's been for the last 15 years) but if this new ED turns a profit, maybe we will see the Chin back with his chainsaw in tow once more. :)

^^^No one said that Englund wasn't Freddy. Any idiot knows that he OWNS that role.
