Bruce Timm Returns!

Yes, Bruce Timm is stepping down as the Supervising Producer of Warner Bros. Animation but this development is something of a win/win. Jim Tucker will be running the show moving forward and he'll be looking to give fans something fresh and new by utilizing Batman and Superman as a means to bring other DC characters to the spotlight. This is what many fans have been clamoring for after a nearly two-decade long focus on The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel.

Timm is taking a break to work on his own projects but once WB says 'go', he'll quietly begin serious efforts on something else for Warner Bros. Animation an individual inside the Burbank offices informs us. Namely, Timm will be creating a new Justice League cartoon series that will be firmly set within the DC Animated Universe or Timmverse if you will. Exactly when the series will debut depends on WB's plans for the Justice League live-action movie as they want to launch the new cartoon around the same time as the film.

Excited?

That's WB Animation publicist Gary Miereanu for those that don't know.

Natetrix79 - 3/30/2013, 7:39 AM
HELL YEAH!!!! Why don't WB's just take his next show or movie idea, let him complete & then turn it into a live action movie???
KelvTwelve - 3/30/2013, 7:46 AM
EVERYTHING THAT HAS MADE ME CRY ABOUT DC ANIMATION HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO GREATNESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
PaulRom - 3/30/2013, 7:46 AM
This sounds fantastic. It'd be cool if the Justice League movie was heavily inspired by the animated series. Huge fan of the DCAU.
BackwardGalaxy - 3/30/2013, 7:47 AM
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

I mean... good. Good.

There is no way Timm will be leaving Warner Bros. Warner Bros is like the Mafia. Once your in, you can never get out.
6of13 - 3/30/2013, 8:05 AM
I guess it is possible that Timm may oversee future live action movies.
Timm = Feige ?
BatmanRobinNightwing - 3/30/2013, 8:07 AM
I suspect he is atleast helping with the development of the live action JL. Why else would he step down only to return to the same job again, what would be bigger for Timm than finally getting to develop a live action movie. He tried before with Batman Beyond only to have that dream crushed. He stated previously that he was very upset and didnt want to go though that again , which is why he took over wb animation. So my guess is he working on the JL movie and this new JL show to go along with it.
ATrueHero1987 - 3/30/2013, 8:09 AM
Reminder, JL, JLU and Batman Beyond are on Netflix NOW
GizmoEl - 3/30/2013, 8:15 AM
I think this article title might be a little misleading.

No guys, it says he's gonna return with a justice league cartoon. Not live action.
InfiniteMonkey - 3/30/2013, 8:20 AM
It clearly says cartoons.
Also good to know that WB is planning a live action but, its going to be several years away and a tonne of work.

Regardless we win because its going to be a light show unlike any other from Marvel and DC.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 3/30/2013, 8:21 AM
Oh God yes.
HellsHammer - 3/30/2013, 8:22 AM
I agree with Levi IF timm were ever involved in live action and brings some of his team with him they'd be unstoppable
revloveR - 3/30/2013, 8:22 AM
i think some of us can read. i choose to read between the lines as well. returning in a big way?
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 3/30/2013, 8:30 AM
I was thinking of how easy it could be to build up the team before bringing them all together in JL. Ik that it says Timm is working on an Animated Series but if he got involved with live action projects, it would be golden.

Goyer/ Nolan - SUPERMAN.
Bruce Timm and Paul Dini can be in charge of the next BATMAN movie = ultimate win.
Goyer/Nolan/Timm can create a wonderful WONDER WOMAN story - win.
Bruce Timm can get the team that worked on the GREEN LANTERN Animated Series to develop a live action movie - win.
Goyer can get the green light on his FLASH story he worked on - win.
Goyer/Nolan/Timm/ Dini = Biggest win in DC history.
BatmanRobinNightwing - 3/30/2013, 8:30 AM
If Timm takes over WB live action it would own marvel. Timm has been working with these characters for decades and could easily transfer the JL to the big screen. Marvels Phase 1,2,3 wouldnt stand a chance, seeing as timm has years more experience telling epic stories using these characters. Plus he got to sit back and watch every little mistake marvels made so hes learned what doesnt work.
And to the whedon argument- whedon 1st choice was DC(WW) and i trust Timm with his track record working with these characters(decades) vs whedon only working with marvel for a couple years.

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I DIED. YES.
AC1 - 3/30/2013, 8:35 AM
Yay for new DCAU stuff, Boo for the dependence on DC's pretty-sure-to-be-shit JL movie.
AC1 - 3/30/2013, 8:36 AM
Of course they'd need to bring back all the original voice actors from the DCAU. Kevin Conroy has to voice Batman.
FireKnightRises - 3/30/2013, 8:39 AM
JL movie ?

A new Timmverse JL...........

YOUR THE BEST AROUND! NO ONES GONNA EVER TAKE YOU DOWN!

But seriously win
DarthVenom - 3/30/2013, 8:47 AM
Give me more JLU and Batman Beyond!!!!!
ForeverPowerful - 3/30/2013, 8:53 AM
@SupermanFan

Thank you for putting Donovan as Batman! Ive been saying that for forever now. Only problem I have with him is his age, other than that he is perfect as Bruce.

And if this somehow does turn into a live action thing, I hope they dont use the Arkhamverse. As much as I love the games and their style, Id like to see a new approach. I dont just want a live action version of the animated series.
DrRockso - 3/30/2013, 8:53 AM
If Timm is involved in live action stuff, I'm sure he'll do the right thing and give Superman his underwear back.
SymbioteJoker - 3/30/2013, 8:54 AM
Hey we may actually find out what happened to Darkseid and Luthor too!
Kyos - 3/30/2013, 8:57 AM
Timm working on a continuation of the DCAU? :O

Ridiculously great news if true! :D
m0th3r - 3/30/2013, 9:04 AM
Awesome...so we will get another great series that CN will just [frick] up the schedule and then cancel...i'll wait for the cancellation and then just watch the whole series so i have clear expectations from the begining...
gmoney0505 - 3/30/2013, 9:08 AM
Cool. I glad he is stepping down for a while. From his comments all he wanted to pursue was the most popular story lines from Bats and Supes. Remember him stating that stories from Flash and Auqaman wouldn't be good because they didn't sell as well as Bats and Supes.

As long as they can keep the talent that have written the stories and casting great VA for the movies and series, they will continue to be a success.
mctrinket - 3/30/2013, 9:10 AM
They would be wise to put him on the team in charge of developing a live action JL movie.
StupidSexyLockon - 3/30/2013, 9:19 AM
I couldnt care less about a JL movie but more JL animation? BRING IT THE [frick] ON. I just hope thats what he's really doing.
CavEl - 3/30/2013, 9:42 AM
I thought Bruce Timmy wasn't calling the shots on all the peo-Batman movies and lack of other DC heroes? Clowns, the man isn't a fan of other DC heroes. He's said it, other DC heroes, in his opinion, don't have interesting stories. Hell, he gets forced to make Superman movies and the quality shows.

Why give JL to that clown? Does WB need to make Batman more popular? I liked the Justice League cartoons, but everytime Batman showed up the other heroes turned to idiots so Batman can be basses and cool.
TheSuperguy - 3/30/2013, 9:43 AM
Awesome news! Would like to see him do solo Aquaman and Flash movies!
Montross - 3/30/2013, 10:07 AM
More Justice League from Bruce Timm? HELL YES.
BlackIceJoe - 3/30/2013, 10:09 AM
This is AWESOME! I can't wait to see his next Justice League tv series. I hope it won't be on DC Nation or it might get canceled. I hope he gets to have a hand In the live action movie series.
revloveR - 3/30/2013, 10:38 AM
the [frick]?
aRandomSinisterClone - 3/30/2013, 10:39 AM
why is it when anyone brings up Justice League, you always get John Stewart fanatics. F Stewart, hes a boring character, only proven by the fact he's being killed off. Hal or Kyle baby.
