He's not the only telepath....unless they're all dead in the future.

If anyone spoiled Xmen 3 for me, I would thank them.

Interesting point made by Patton, except i think Sony is doing that with TASM. I think Webb is laying foundations for supervillains early on, and bringing them to the front and center in future movies.

That or because they're probably both on the same side they need to communicate. The helmet would preclude that.

Well the helmet thing is a bit disappointing...

Sentinels aren't telepaths, why would Magneto need helmet?

sentinels hunt down and kill all the telepaths first

Xavier died in X-men 3....yet Magneto wore a helmet afterwards for the rest of the movie....so i'm not sure if that's the reason

However X-men 3 was a [frick] up from start to finish.....

Maybe Patton for Violator if the Spawn reboot ever gets off the ground.

Guys, Magneto at his prime did not need a helmet to protect himself from telepaths. He just used it so that he would not need to focus on it all the time. Not only that, but he had a latent telepathic ability as well, and was able to create astral projections. Of course, current Magneto is much less dynamic and limits himself to throwing objects and using magnetic energy against his opponents, but back in the day he was a Swiss Army Knife.

Magneto continued wearing his helmet in Last stand because he didn't trust Jean Grey who had joined his brotherhood.She was clearly a wildcard and Magneto showed his fear when Jean made the "CURE" needles move towards his face.

In the future, it's a mutant vs sentinel war not a mutant on mutant one,so Magneto doesn't have to fear a telepath.

I do not like Ian McKellen's portrayal of Magneto, he makes him seem weak and limited, power-wise. It makes me feel as if Callisto could defeat him. I think Michael Fassbender does the character justice, though, and I wish he would play Magneto 100% of the time, without Ian's interference. Remember, this is just my respectful opinion. I do not have any issues with the guy.

@Pony

Magneto may not have needed a helmet in the comics as a young man due to latent telepathic ability,but in the movies the helmet was a direct defense against Charles.

With all mutants in the future united against the Sentinels there is not need for a defense agaist a telepath.

@Pony

Ian Mckellan was portraying Magneto as weak and limited because he was a world weary old man who had lost his idealism and oldest friend. Besides he was a man
who had long become used to having his followers do the dirty work.

@blkyank Magneto was exactly what you said in the comics as well, and yet he was able to exchange physical blows with the likes of Colossus and Hercules. He was also able to stand a Phoenix projectile at point blank. I know characters must be reinvented for their film counterparts, but they depowered him so much in the X-Men movies I felt a little bit frustrated. Good movies, most of them, I just wanted him to show off his powers a bit more.

Love Magneto. I really wanna see McKellen and Fassbender together. Could be awesome.

Dudes. Days of Future Past. If they make this right then the mutants are too busy trying to keep themselves alive and running from sentinels, and won't be fighting each other. Again, if they get it right.

@MyLittlePony - I think the script is to blame. Fassbender had the opportunity to have 2 very emotional and strong scenes displaying the power (the antenna and sub), McKellen just had the bridge. I mean, scenes that would defy his power.

McKellen does it right IMO. The scene he destroys the police cars and truck in X3 was one of the few good things there.
