TheGoat - 6/11/2013, 9:52 AM
Movie was on par with IM3. Worth seeing, enjoyable, but lacking. Could have been so much more. Lower your expectations a bit and I think you'll enjoy it more.

I love the way people are going on about Rotten Tomatoes. Half of these reviewers don't have clue or are biased. There are a handful of reviewers I do respect and read because of the way they approach and express themselves. In the end I will make up my own mind about a film.
Bkams - 6/11/2013, 10:33 AM
Is Laurence Fishburn playing The Joker? :)
RedandBlue - 6/11/2013, 10:40 AM
No, the reviews are kinda nitpicking.. Man of Steel was/is/will be awesome.
musicsuperhero1 - 6/11/2013, 10:42 AM
Is anyone going to mention that this is so poorly edited that you can't here half of what anyone is saying because the 'background music' isn't background at all!? hahha
musicsuperhero1 - 6/11/2013, 10:44 AM
Ah...SUPERMAN'sBEARD...now I see we're on the same page.
DoubleD - 6/11/2013, 11:26 AM
71% APPROVAL RATING ROTTEN TOMATOES. I predict that it will fall to 64% by Friday

MAN OF STEEL IS IN BIG TROUBLE;

It has been a black eye to Hollywood that throughout this, the unending and increasingly repetitive age of the superhero blockbuster, the comics' most iconic son has eluded its grasp like a bird or, if you will, a plane.

New hopes of box-office riches and franchise serials rests on Zac Snyder's 3-D "Man of Steel," the latest attempt to put Superman back into flight. But Snyder's joyless film, laden as if composed of the stuff of its hero's metallic nickname, has nothing soaring about it.

Flying men in capes is grave business in Snyder's solemn Superman. "Man of Steel," an origin tale of the DC Comics hero, goes more than two hours before the slightest joke or smirk.

This is not your Superman of red tights, phone booth changes, or fortresses of solitude, but one of Christ imagery, Krypton politics and spaceships. Who would want to have fun at the movies anyway,
rosco71 - 6/11/2013, 11:38 AM
I cant even hear the latter part due to the bloody music!!!
CENSORSHIPSUCKS - 6/11/2013, 11:44 AM
Can somebody pluleeeeeease explain how it is that Superman Returns has a higher rating on rottentomatoes than Man Of Steel? ANYBODY? ANYBODY?
Boomerang - 6/11/2013, 12:09 PM
Hey guys! [frick] the critics, they don't know anything about Superheroes and Comic books! The only opinion to be taken into consideration is ours!
tonytony - 6/11/2013, 1:33 PM
@doubled you have been hating hard on this movie well before it was released. stop feigning concern, Seriously dude, give it a break. You dont see it now but supes success is good for all CBM.
tonytony - 6/11/2013, 1:36 PM
@censorship sucks because during superman returns you didnt have insecure marvel fanboys writing shit. you only need to see on this site there are quite few enemies of success here in Nick salinksi/crossbones, 69ballzdeep, doubled, sagemode some of these guys behaviour and comment is overtly troll like while a couple of them do exactly the samething (doubled and crossbones) but try and dress it up as neutrality.
AC1 - 6/11/2013, 3:30 PM
@DoubleD so basically, this reviewer you're quoting is complaining that the movie has a serious tone? I'd ignore them then, if I were you. That's a clear indication of bias - the only time you should even consider listening to anyone complaining about tone is if the tone is uneven, or not suited to the film (for example, a comedy that isn't funny). It was always evident that Man Of Steel would take a more serious approach, so if the biggest complaint about the film is that it's 'not funny enough', then I think we're off to a pretty good start.

Not saying that I'm certain the film will be good, just saying that critics can be biased and you should take what they say with a pinch of salt, and think for yourself - whether or not you like the film, it should be down to you, not what some guy writing on the internet or in a newspaper tells you to think. Cautious optimism is a good approach.
