Fans everywhere have been excited about the upcoming
THOR and
Green Lantern films for quite some time.
THOR directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Chris Hemsworth is at the top of many peoples "must see" list.
The Green Lantern directed by Martin Campbell and starring Ryan Reynolds tops that very same list for many others.
Now both of these characters lend themselves nicely to a chance at epicness on screen.
The Green Lantern has the potential to follow in the footsteps of
Star Wars and many other space adventure films. Add in the fact that he is a bonafide "superhero" of fantastic proportions and the chance for something completely unique goes way up. The power from
The Green Lanterns ring enables him to do just about anything that he can imagine doing, as long as he has the will power to back it up (the list of GL's powers goes on forever but most of us are familiar with the majority of things on it).
Not to be outdone,
THOR could set the bar for future fantasy adventures. Not only is
THOR the Norse God of Thunder but he is a time, space and inter dimensional traveler in his own right. What we could see in this film is a mixture of
Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and
Superman. Once again the vast power at
THOR's command is comprised of a list that can fill a book, and once again we are familiar with the majority of them.
Seeing as how these two films are due out in the same year and they are both centered around heroes of immense physical power, one from Marvel and one from DC, this would be a perfect opportunity for a couple of POLLs.
The first POLL is to see who we think would still be standing after a battle between the two. It has nothing to do with the films, just the characters.
The second POLL is to see which movie we CBMers beleive will be the biggest mindblower between the two films.
