VS match. I know, I said yesterday that today's match up would involve Colossus and The Thing but I changed my mind (next week). Instead, I thought I would have two of Marvels most honorable heroes square off against each other. These two heroes happen to be close friends and long time
Avenger team mates.
In one corner we have Steve Rogers (aka) Captain America. I really don't believe anybody reading this needs any explanation of who Captain America is or what his abilities are. I will however, give a short one for those that may not be familiar with him. Captain America From Wikipedia... Captain America's strength, endurance, agility, speed, reflexes, durability, and healing are at the highest limits of natural human potential. It has been established that Rogers' body regularly replenishes the super-soldier serum; it does not wear off.
The formula enhances all of his metabolic functions and prevents the build-up of fatigue poisons in his muscles, giving him endurance far in excess of an ordinary human being. This accounts for many of his extraordinary feats, including bench pressing 1100 pounds (500 kg) and running a mile (1.6 km) in little more than a minute. Furthermore, his enhancements are the reason why he was able to survive being frozen in suspended animation for decades. There have been many attempts to recreate this formula but after the death of its creator the secrets of creating a super-soldier died with him.
Mentally, Rogers' battle experience and training make him an expert tactician and an excellent field commander, with his teammates frequently deferring to his orders in battle. Rogers' reflexes and senses are also extraordinarily keen. He has blended judo, western boxing, kickboxing, and gymnastics into his own unique fighting style and is a master of multiple martial arts. Years of practice with his indestructible shield make him able to aim and throw it with almost unerring accuracy In the other corner we find last weeks winner T'Challa (aka) The Black Panther. Again, I don't believe too much of an introduction or explanation of his abilities are required but I will give you one anyway. THE BLACK PANTHER Again from Wikipedia... The title "Black Panther" is a rank of office, chieftain of the Wakandan Panther Clan. As chieftain, the Panther is entitled to eat a special heart-shaped herb, as well as his mystical connection with the Wakandan Panther god, that grants him superhumanly acute senses and increases his strength, speed, stamina, and agility to the peak of human development. He has since lost this connection and forged a new one with another unknown Panther deity, granting him augmented physical attributes as well as a resistance to magic. His senses are so powerful that he can pick up a prey's scent and memorize tens of thousands of individual ones. T'Challa is a rigorously trained gymnast and acrobat, showing mastery in various African martial arts as well as contemporary ones and fighting styles that belong to no known disciplines. In Doomwar, T'Challa created a completely new form of martial arts combat style which incorporated both science and sorcery.
He is a skilled hunter, tracker, strategist, and scientist — he has a Ph.D. degree in physics from Oxford University. Considered one of the eight smartest people on the planet, he is a genius in physics and advanced technology, and is a brilliant inventor. As always, may the best hero win!
