Let me start off by saying
this is not a VS POLL. Next year looks to be quite possibly the biggest year to date for CBM's. I for one, am greatly looking forward to all of next years films and I sincerely hope that all of them not only break box office records but receive multiple Oscars. This would help to ensure quality CBM's for many years to come. That being said, three films in particular seem to appear at the top of everyone's "must see list"
Captain America: The First Avenger, The Green Lantern and
THOR. Of these three films, two have released trailers that have not only raised considerable interest in the films but have drawn lines between the fans.
Weeks ago, when the first "official"
Green Lantern trailer was released, we began hearing many of the "rabid fanboys" proclaiming at the top of their lungs that this film would crush any other CBM's in 2011. Yesterday, when the first "official"
THOR trailer was released, we heard the same cries, proclaiming the same thing about
THOR. This should not be an either/ or situation. It is not a competition (at least as far as we, the fans are concerned). The studio's may be in competition but we, as fans, should be pulling for both films. That is not to say that we should not have a favorite.
Now, lets get down to the point of this article. As I've said, this article is not about which movie will "crush" the other. This article is about the trailers. Which trailer piqued your curiosity the most? Which trailer do you think has the potential to pull "non comic book fans" into the theaters to see something they were previously not familiar with? In essence, which trailer do you think shows more promise for the film it promotes? Which one does it's job?
I am including both trailers below for you to view once again and help you decide which way you ultimately cast your vote.
