Great job guys! #4 is too funny!
Odinson1 - 1/22/2009, 6:04 PM
ok i really need to work on this 2mo...the 2nd is my fave
Rorschach01 - 1/22/2009, 8:18 PM
The second one is the best if it doesnt win ill give u 200 b ucks lol jk good job

See Ya, The ShakeBake
TheShakeBake - 1/22/2009, 8:21 PM
haha...the first one was definitely my favorite until i looked closer and noticed that thor knocked out one of hulk's teeth. now i think i'm in too much agony to judge. i mean...wolverine's claws going through his forearm is enough to make me lightheaded, but it's also ridiculously cool. thor's knock-out swing, though...just...oww...

as for the second one...i think i'm going to print that out and make it into a valentine's day card for my dreamy, nerdy, comic book-reading significant other.
thwip - 1/22/2009, 8:47 PM
I gotta go with the first one, it makes the others look like crap. That is the hands down winner.
BrockSamson - 1/22/2009, 8:53 PM
I love number 2! That is hysterical! They are all good, lots better than I could ever do. Keep up the great work.
Matowar - 1/22/2009, 9:03 PM
Judging on skills with the pencil and ink, it would have to go to #1. Judging on comedy skills, I would have to give it to #2. Over all though, at this point, I would say #1 takes it, but we will see what the other submissions bring.
tenaciousbt - 1/22/2009, 11:44 PM
Number 1, your artwork is great. But the winner is Number 2!
Gideon - 1/23/2009, 12:53 AM
All this talk of No. 2 reminds me of Two girls one cup! Go No. 2. I want that as a T-shirt! or a T-cup or maybe some cool rappings on a tampon dispenser or a stop sign. yeah .... stopping to the hulk is cool.
shibazz - 1/23/2009, 2:49 AM
No.1 is awesome. :D
Lansdowne5 - 1/23/2009, 3:42 AM
I have to agree with the majority of you guys, Number 2 is my fav, i laughed so hard i actually cried a little.
theFACE - 1/23/2009, 5:17 AM

grif - 1/23/2009, 5:57 AM
DAmn I wish i could enter this but alas I dont reside within the US. Anyway i'm loving the work guys keep it up
breakUbatman - 1/23/2009, 6:26 AM
The winner SO FAR in my opinion should be the 5th from the bottom even though my favorite is the forth. Mine should be done on Saturday and i will forward it as soon as i can :))

In fact, it is so cool to show fan art, CBM you should totally have contests like these more often!!! But i understand that it also all depends on what type of prize is coming out. But i can't thank you guys enough, this KICKS ASS!!!
Shaman - 1/23/2009, 8:26 AM
#2 is fantastic, the rest of them... eh,
gtrman - 1/23/2009, 11:07 AM
DUDE, they're all fantastic in their own way and to be honest, i can't stop looking at them and wished i had more to look at!!! I keep coming back to this post to check out everyone's art! It's great!

Shaman - 1/23/2009, 1:54 PM
where is my art? they show it on the Gallery. but they dont show it in the updates.

ricardo gonzalez - 1/23/2009, 4:04 PM
I like the scissors rock smash, and is definately cute and funny, but I absolutely LOVE the one right above with Wolverine, Hulk and Thor with the Hammer. One has to admit that the attention to detail and shading is AMAZING!!! Well Done! Definately my pick for the cash!!! Nice job to everyone.
funlover - 1/23/2009, 5:33 PM
Beh...pity i cant enter cos i live in Europe :'(
Bomblu - 1/24/2009, 4:15 AM
i wish i had time to make one and destroy this contest with its awesomeness. but about what i see here. not enough blood.
grif - 1/24/2009, 5:52 AM
The 4th is the only decent one, Im not being a dick, just stating the obvious
Bark4Soul - 1/24/2009, 1:06 PM
No your being a dick, dude you don't bash other peoples artwork. NEVER.

On that note, everyone its all sick that you put the time and effort into all these. There was great uniqueness in them all (=

(A+) for you all. And I want them all on my fridge too haha i feel like a proud mother
SdProphet - 1/24/2009, 2:27 PM
Good job fella's... Comics are the well spring of creativity
Sonny - 1/24/2009, 9:36 PM
man these ppl cant draw
prinzjoker - 1/25/2009, 3:08 PM
can some body give some pointers on my drawing. i think my scanner sucks i want to know if you guys can see it ok or do i need to put some ink on it. for some reason they dont show it in this page but they have it in the gallery.its the last one any pointers will help. thanks
ricardo gonzalez - 1/25/2009, 6:00 PM
Prinzjoker...go play in traffic.
davidzuck - 1/25/2009, 9:22 PM
Well ricardo, i find your Thor amazing, i love the beard! Pitty you didn't have his cape in there but it would've taken too much space away from your wolverine. You've got great attention to detail and the only thing i can add as a suggestion is to carefully INK your drawing because when it's rendered by computer, we can't see every single detail you put in to notice all you're full talent and hard work. But none the less an amazing scketch that holds it's own! Great job Ric! You're sure to be in the top contenders :))

prinzjoker, either submit something better or SHUT THE F**K UP!!! Ingrate sac o'shit, this is a "fan art" galery! If you can't appreciate it then what the F**K are you doin here in the first place?!?!?!?!?! No head line lured you in here saying "professional art galery"!!!
Shaman - 1/25/2009, 9:48 PM
yeah, ricardo, you did an awesome job, I really like your detail to the musculature. My only advice is try to look at more dynamic positions, have Thor in the air, swingin a fist or something, try and make the picture move, ya know? or am I sounding like an art geek? but good job man, good stuff.
davidzuck - 1/25/2009, 10:44 PM
shaman, i thought you'll submit your artwork? i'm waiting for it...hehe..
parascythe - 1/26/2009, 2:15 AM
Well parascythe, i submitted it on sunday at 1:20 am LOL So i'm waiting on them to put it up :)) I don't think they'll put it on this thread but it should be up soon in the galery :)

Hmmmm... Still not up yet, i hope they did receive it. Maybe they just don't work on the site on the week end or somethin'. Everybody's entitled to some time off after all LOL
Shaman - 1/26/2009, 6:57 AM
What I wanna know is: why I can't submit my entry? It keeps bouncing back-since Saturday. Anyone else having problems?
sniktchick74 - 1/26/2009, 8:37 AM
i'll be working mine tonight
parascythe - 1/26/2009, 9:54 AM
your name is Barry Dingle? HAHAHAHAHAHHAAA
tjdr59 - 1/26/2009, 11:49 AM
thanks for the input Shaman and davidzuck.
ricardo gonzalez - 1/26/2009, 11:54 AM
Cool.
thor19b - 1/26/2009, 12:05 PM
Actually, this kinda worries me because i don't remember how many MB mine was and i disconnected after noticing that my e-mail was sent properly so i don't know if it bounced back later on and i can't access my home e-mail address from work. I'll have to check that out ASAP when i get home. I don't know when they'll be uploading the new fan art on the galery too. I know there's a few of us that are still waiting to see...
Shaman - 1/26/2009, 12:24 PM
Ink: My jpg was only 1.4mb, so that shouldn't be a problem. I first used my gmail address, and that's when it kept bouncing back saying,"exceeded storage allocation." That sounds like their inbox is full. I sent it thru my yahoo acct and it never bounced back, but it could be floating around in the ether somewhere. Just wish we knew what's goin' on....
sniktchick74 - 1/26/2009, 2:10 PM
Just found out mine is 5MEGS so i resized it and resent it from work. Hopefully they'll get it this time :)
Shaman - 1/26/2009, 2:12 PM
Oh, last night I also sent an email to the Hulk Vs. site owner asking if he knew what's going on. Haven't heard back yet.
sniktchick74 - 1/26/2009, 2:23 PM
Well they e-mailed me back saying that they hadn't recieved mine so that's why i resent it in a smaller size, "1.5 MB" to be precise. Haven't got any "rebound" notifications so far :) They must be swamped with e-mails right now :P
Shaman - 1/26/2009, 2:25 PM
Shaman, what address did you email it to?
sniktchick74 - 1/26/2009, 2:30 PM
Contests@ComicBookMovie.com

Shaman - 1/26/2009, 3:11 PM
I shall be entering my tonight...hopefully you guys will like it.
Aiiwolf - 1/26/2009, 4:50 PM
thanks ink that helped but i am going to ink the drawing. but i will use the info for nex time thanks
ricardo gonzalez - 1/26/2009, 5:20 PM
I'm entering mine soon enough. I hope u guys will enjoy watching Hulk smash Thor into the ground.

SolidSnake910 - 1/26/2009, 5:50 PM
Were not dicks cause we have opinions, I have nothing against the people who drew some of these. As an artist, u have to learn how to take criticism. Some of these suck but they get props for uploading em, deal with it, Y'ALL go play in traffic
Bark4Soul - 1/26/2009, 7:00 PM
Great job to all who entered; however, my favorite is the 4th pic from the top, which is J. Conley's entry. You can feel the power of the swing and can feel the pain! I hope you win the money!
hippychic66 - 1/26/2009, 7:40 PM
I wanna see more entries up here! Where's all the ones a bunch of us sent today? (No I'm not very patient).
sniktchick74 - 1/26/2009, 7:51 PM
i couldnt agree more ink!!!

they may not be as good as you see them but you cannot just disregard their effort in participating and trying to put in to picture what they had in mind...

kudos! to all who tried their best...!!!

and shut up!!! to those who cant say anything good and just take some rest...!!!

parascythe - 1/26/2009, 7:54 PM
hey, i sent mine earlier today... any clue when it will be posted on here?
gennarelli - 1/26/2009, 8:30 PM
WOW!!! this is great!!!!

this thread is consuming space with our comments and still no new artwork had been posted!

i been waiting whole day now...

CMB please post the other files!!! many thanks!
parascythe - 1/27/2009, 1:42 AM
I'm beginning to think that someone submitted a drawing so kick ass awesome that if they posted up the rest of the submissions, it would scare any others of submitting theirs. Well i don't care if one of them blows the rest of the compitition out of the water!!! I wanna see fan art! RESPECT MY AUTHORITAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
Shaman - 1/27/2009, 6:56 AM
I agree, everyone did a great job! Good luck, judges and thanks for getting the artwork all up and having the contest.
sniktchick74 - 1/27/2009, 9:51 AM
OH MY GOD!!! These are so freakin cool!!! I love lookin at them!!! I hope there will actually be more entries :))

Man, they're all amazing!!! My favorite is Erik Dobransky's style (very "battle pope"-ish) but i have to say that Kristine Kilayko's art takes the cake!!! Great job :))
Shaman - 1/27/2009, 10:03 AM
Here are my takes on the “Hulk vs. Awards”!!! (so far… :)

-Originality: Jenny Bornen
-Dynamics: Erik Dobransky
-Fighting Sequence: John Conley
-Realism: Kristine Kilayko
-Coloring: Wayne Powell
-Light/Shade effect: Adam Munoa
-Proportions: Matt Zolman
-Drama: Ricardo Ortiz

Shaman - 1/27/2009, 12:45 PM
Definitely :))
Shaman - 1/27/2009, 1:56 PM
Kilyakos is the bomb...thats ur winner right there
Bark4Soul - 1/27/2009, 2:11 PM
WOAH INK, You're Eric Tomlinson??? Which means that you're the one that drew that kick ass forest scene??? Very cool bro, and very bloody :)) Must have taken you a while especially for the colors! :O

But as for mine... are you kinding me??? I'm Shaman... which means mine is ... get ready for it... drum roll please... "Shaman's" LMFAO!!! You gotta admit, that was pretty funny LOLOL :P

And yes, it doesn't matter if there isn't 200$ at the end of the line, the contest experience kicks ass on it's own :)) Good point INK!
Shaman - 1/27/2009, 2:24 PM
Thanks INK! Totally, a great learning experience :))
Shaman - 1/27/2009, 3:20 PM
what I wanna know, is what did Kristine Kilayako use to color hers?
davidzuck - 1/27/2009, 4:06 PM
i just added mine, I might submit something even better than that, I'll start tonight and make my decision later lol.
Aiiwolf - 1/27/2009, 4:52 PM
Shaman lol...yours makes me laugh. I like yours, its something I would witness on cartoon network. nicely done, mate. I think there are a few more I like... I might do something a bit better...and submit it as a replacement. eh, i dunno, maybe.
Aiiwolf - 1/27/2009, 4:56 PM
kristine kilayko's art is very impressive...though it seems like that i saw a drawing similar to her..i cant remember though...kudos if thats her original piece!!!!
parascythe - 1/27/2009, 5:08 PM
Indeed. It looks like an "ultimate version theme" ultimate hulk vs ultimate wolverine and thor....nicely done mate
Aiiwolf - 1/27/2009, 5:23 PM
ultimate wolverine i guess wears black

to davidzuck, she uses either photoshop or painter..unless she is somewhere out there tell you what she used.
parascythe - 1/27/2009, 8:13 PM
Wow! Just want to say this is a great contest, my favorite besides mine: "Hulk smashing Thor and Wolverine's heads" is Kristine Kilayko's entry.

I assume if it is Hulk's movie he should beat them.
RLG - 1/27/2009, 9:20 PM
I meant the way hes drawn bro...not the clothing hes wearing. The textured drawing...and the way he looks is very ultimate like...as in the "ultimates" everything looks so dark...as in a darker theme.

Plus Ultimate Wolverine sucks....I hate the ultimate Xmen...their not taken seriously..its a complete joke. His clothing is more like the messiah complex...or uncanny...but his drawing is very ultimate.
Aiiwolf - 1/27/2009, 11:17 PM
Its not hulks movie just cuz it says hulk versus lol....shit the hulk vs wolverine movie... was mostly about wolverine...and weapon X. Hulk was in it for a few scenes....and he jumped on deadpool. Thats about it. I love the Hulk, and I hate the fact wolverine is over rated...but what ppl dont know is deadpool is much stronger then wolverine in many ways....and in this movie they could of done a better job at showing deadpool out smart the hulk...instead of being a dumbass....deadpool "is the merc with a motuh"...but he knows how to back it up at the same time...its not like he had cancer in this damn movie to where he had to act stupid. lol

I think they put the two movies together to save money instead of naming it hulk vs thor...and wolverine origins: the weapon X and hulk story. If you know what I mean.
Aiiwolf - 1/27/2009, 11:27 PM
Kristine Kilayko's and Jenny Bornen's are my favorites!!! YOU CHICKS ROCK!!!!
gibbyblaylock - 1/28/2009, 8:06 AM
Thanks Aiiwolf, i like yours too and it would be so cool to see yours photoshopped!

And i totally agree with you gibbyblaylock!!!
Shaman - 1/28/2009, 8:32 AM
I have to agree... The boys are unfairly outmatched! Kristine Kilayko, I am completely floored! You have one hell of a career ahead of you, I hope to see more of your work in the future!
adamant877 - 1/28/2009, 11:23 AM
Seems like a lot of y'all are partial to computer-drawn art. What about the traditional pencil/pen/paint entries? Which of them do you like?
sniktchick74 - 1/28/2009, 12:01 PM
Well for some reason, i can't stop looking at Matt Zolman's but the scketch that impresses me the most is Erik Dobransky's. His attention to detail and "comic book style" shading is breath taking!!! And that's also why i wouldn't want to have to chose one winner from them all because alot of them impress me in their own way. That's why i had posted my "hulk vs awards" LOL Here they are again:

-Originality: Jenny Bornen
-Dynamics: Erik Dobransky
-Fighting Sequence: John Conley
-Realism: Kristine Kilayko
-Coloring: Wayne Powell
-Light/Shade effect: Adam Munoa
-Proportions: Matt Zolman
-Drama: Ricardo Ortiz

After more submissions, i find my pics are still pretty accurate. I guess if i were a judge, i'd have to evaluate every drawing with many criterias. And the one to have the most points for fullfiling the most criterias would be the winner. I think that would be the farest way to judge and by that fashion, it would also mean that Kristine Kilayko wouldn't automatically be the winner. The outcome could be surprising :)
Shaman - 1/28/2009, 1:09 PM
I thought this was supposed to be original work?? I am a collector and one in particular is a total ripoff. I won't name any names, but those of you who are real comic book fans know the one. They spliced 2 pictures together to make it their own, but the picture of Wolverine is clearly taken from Wolverine #55. It seems that alot put hard time and effort to come up with their own art. Those of you who can't do that, shouldn't enter. To the orignal ideas, GREAT JOB!!
funlover - 1/28/2009, 6:00 PM
can anyone give me some feedback?
i made hulk vs thor, the one that has the hand made logo lol, it is photoshop, but the original sketch is a row below it.
my first photoshop ever, and my first art contest. i was kind of rushing but let me know what you think, just dont be a "richard".
Godl1ng - 1/28/2009, 6:04 PM
and Kristine Kilayko is totally the hands down winer, i mean everything is precise, even if you don't read comic books your can appreciate the detail and power of the image. and look at that Hulk, i mean come on, how can anyone compete with that?
Godl1ng - 1/28/2009, 6:14 PM
alright I sent mine in :) I made two sketches and scanned them in, colored in photoshop and then put them together :) I chose Hulk vs Thor cuz I live in Iceland so thor is a character I really know and admire ;) hope you like my pic, I'd love some feedback.

and some of the pics here are absolutely AMAZING! If I had that talent Id make a comic book like ASAP :D
siggisuperman - 1/28/2009, 7:13 PM

siggisuperman - 1/28/2009, 7:13 PM
you want a name check out Jin's submission wolverine is totally pasted from the cover of Wolverine #55 see for your self look up wolverine #55 on google images. that is a total disgrace to the nature of the contest and all the real artists who have real talent.
BrockSamson - 1/28/2009, 9:26 PM
You know...All the pieces are great, but I'd kinda like to see hand colored and hand drawn ones...no computer aid. I know there is no rule against it, but I find the hand done ones to be more authentic. Don't get me wrong, the computer makes them look amazing, and they do, everyone did awesome...but yeah...
davidzuck - 1/28/2009, 9:42 PM
Im willing to admit that Kristine Kilayko's entry is pretty awesome, but im not crazy about all the computer coloring. its fine for a professional level but on a fan art contest i think it speaks to the artists skill to be confidant enough to use a medium that is done by hand, and by those standards, i think that John Conley's entry should be number the winner. its obviously an original pose, hand drawn, and colored by hand. no other submission with all those qualities even comes close.
BrockSamson - 1/28/2009, 9:48 PM
agreed icegoalie, hand drawn is best
davidzuck - 1/28/2009, 10:02 PM
Sorry Ink. Not here to cause trouble..not my intention.I think icegoalie30 said it all. I was just suprised that someone would be so blatant about it and then try to pull it off as their own. I feel that the judges who will be looking at the best 'original' artwork, will immediately recognize the ones that have been duplicated or copied from those that are original pieces of artwork.
funlover - 1/28/2009, 10:52 PM
I think initially they were mostly all hand drawn...just digitally colored. I can't see drawing that on the computer (specifically talking about the highly detailed ones), you would have to do that by hand first. Not counting the one that's been plagiarized, since that person didn't even do any of the work save copying and pasting. People just prefer digital coloring these days because of how you can experiment with it, not saying that traditional isn't great by any means. Just that digital coloring is fun and a time-saver if you don't have the necessary traditional utensils handy or would prefer to do it that way. Plus you don't have to worry about your original pencils getting messed up. Traditional will always be great though, since even when working digitally that's where you have to start always.
CHILLI - 1/28/2009, 10:57 PM
Traditional vs Digital has always been a huge debate but its not about what you use but rather how you use it. Ive seen traditionally done artworks in comic books that look like garbage but then again there are digital ones that look like crap as well.

I do both traditional art and computer art. Both has their pros and cons. Inking and pencilling looks waaaaaay better traditionally IMO but painting and colors? I bet my ass on Digital. But the point is you cant say digital is better than traditional and vice versa.

It depends upon the resulting artwork and the effort that one does to achieve such. So Kudos to all who submitted ORIGINAL ART PIECES (only one isnt but im sure the judges would recognize those uber popular works)and good luck! :)
JamesH - 1/29/2009, 12:09 AM
I agree, with either one you use, both take skill and practice if you want them to look great.
CHILLI - 1/29/2009, 12:30 AM
Exactly... one cant compare Joe Jusko (Marvel Masterpieces I) with Djurdjevic (Daredevil covers) or Deodato (Thunderbolts)with Clayton Crain (Xforce). They use totally different media but they are all great in their own right. They draw anatomy perfectly. Their artworks convey mood, tone and story. Their art is full of emotion and action. I guess it juz boils down to personal preference but i gotta say i love em all!

I also agree that most artists even pros start off with traditional tools like pencils before going with softwares like painter and photoshop.
JamesH - 1/29/2009, 2:16 AM
james do you have any entry?
parascythe - 1/29/2009, 7:38 AM
Okay, first off, Jin should totally be disqualified. Second, there is another form of drawing which is similar to "not original art" but in my book would be considered valid for the compitition. And that is Aiiwolf's style. He drew of his own hand, shots of characters taken from comics but in a "portrait" kind of way. And to me, that is totally acceptable because it does require a huge amount of talent even IF you didn't think of the original proportions and dynamic positioning. In fact, that's how i started to draw when i got tiered of doing stick figures and it is THE reason why my specialty in college was portrait. So good job Aiiwolf!!!

And as for computer colors, take the time to carefully examine mine. That scketch took me 20 minutes to draw, 25 minutes to ink but it took me a total of 22 HOURS to color with photoshop. So anyone that says that computer coloring is easy or doesn't require talent i can honestly say, with no hard feelings, F**K YOU AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON!!! :)) My hand, forearm, back and neck was so sore that i felt i had went through a car crash!!! I basically would've had to make scketches all week to even come close to how i felt after i finished coloring this one. And i used a pad and pen conected to the computer which means i had to use my dexterity as much as i would've used on a scketch. It is in FACT harder to control the computer pen than an average pencil on a sheet of paper. This was my first time ever using photoshop, my girlfriend is the one that taught me how to use it and believe me, IT IS ART on it's own! People should never feel ashamed of appreciating computer generated art because i can fully attest that alot of hard work is put into them!
Shaman - 1/29/2009, 8:08 AM
Oh by no means am I downing graphic art, it is art. I was just saying i'm a fan of the hand colored. All the computer colored ones look badass, as well as the hand colored ones. haha, they all do.
davidzuck - 1/29/2009, 8:49 AM
@ parascythe, i have but aint telling which one i had my hand working on... at least not yet. ;)

@ Shaman... relax bro.... your heart! :) I understand what you're saying coz i myself spent days on my entry! Well, not 24hours everyday but took a LOT of time and effort!

Both traditional and digital art takes a whole freaking lot of time to do! A well pencilled and inked art takes a whole lot of time and sweat as much as a well rendered digital piece from scratch.
JamesH - 1/29/2009, 9:16 AM
@ jamesh, hahaha!!! its bad that i may not able to finish my piece before submission ends...

here are my arts by the way..

http://parascythe04.deviantart.com/

and

http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=133255

if i will not be able to finish on time i'll post my fan art there

parascythe - 1/29/2009, 10:49 AM
Oh right...my heart, almost passed on there LOL :P

Mine was 100% hand-drawn and colored, taking me over 30 hours to complete, and $10 worth of Prismacolors. I'm still learning the art of computer coloring, so I didn't want to risk that for a contest.

And yeah, jin's entry is def. ripped straight off Wolverine #55!
sniktchick74 - 1/29/2009, 1:41 PM
how come so many entries have the hulk bleeding so profusely? i know, wolverines claws are made of adimantium, but hulks skin is also extremely tough. they only usually will just scratch the hulk never slice him up like some have portrayed. it seems that some have made wolverine a no contest winner. when any comic portraying such a fight has almost always been a draw, that's all im really saying.

Id really love some feedback on my pic :) I drew it on paper with pencils and then scanned it in, did some lineart and painted it in photoshop. BTW I'm Siggi Fannar with the pic of Hulk and Thor.
siggisuperman - 1/29/2009, 5:58 PM
I didnt do blood coz id faint if i see blood. LOL. I did mine using 100% photoshop and it was a pain to get some of the details in but hope it was worth something. :)

@ siggi.... would love to comment on your piece but there's a ton of Hulk vs Thor pics! Its hard to check which art belongs to which artist coz they aint labeled unless you open each one of em. Can you point me which page it is and what's besides it? :)
JamesH - 1/30/2009, 2:06 AM
NVM.. found it. ;)

im not a judge so my opinion doesnt weigh anything. :)

I like the edgy and thick lineart. You probably used paths or mask selections to get those crisp edgy lines right? :) The coloring is good as you were able to maintain consistency althroughout the piece making the whole thing blend well together (same style of shading and lightness, etc).

The only thing i wish you kinda changed was Hulk's posture... he's too straight and stiff. But otherwise, good job. ;)

Hope to have more contests here as there are a LOT of comicbook to film adaptations this year! Watchmen, Wolverine, GIJoe, Transformers 2, Kickass..... dayum!
JamesH - 1/30/2009, 2:20 AM
Hey u guys...look at my entry and tell me what u think. It's Gabriel Chacon's entry (they mispelled my last name and put 2 c's) its the one with Hulk smashing Thor into the ground.
SolidSnake910 - 1/30/2009, 11:17 AM
BY the way ya'll really need to stop talking shit through messages ok. this is a contest not a debate. its pathetic. and stop saying that some of them suck... beauty is in the eye of the beholder, homies
SolidSnake910 - 1/30/2009, 11:29 AM
Thanks for the opinion james :) Anyone know when the results are coming in ? It's pretty exciting :P I check the site like 20 times a day haha
siggisuperman - 1/30/2009, 6:57 PM
Haha... you and me both Siggi!

@ Solid - looking good bro! Nice sense of action/movement and anatomy! purely original too (meaning no exact copying/tracing of existing work from comicbooks)! And the colors are nice! The only thing that's bothering me is the logo. Wish we could all use the original logo. :)
JamesH - 1/30/2009, 7:58 PM
@ davidzuck, this is long overdue but RE Kilayko.... she used photoshop to color the piece. The black and white was on a different layer set to multiply and the colors were added on another layer below it. :)

Thank you shaman. I did look at my comics to draw that...you are absolutely right. But I could of drawn it a different way but I am not going to draw something completely amazing and have it stolen from me...specially with a few people stealing other people's artwork [coughs jin] lol

I've had that happen to me before...so I look at my comics and arranged thor and hulk a certain way..the wolverine I took from astonishing Xmen when he was standing next to colossus....but I took the concepts and I blended them..took a while.

I dont like using computer coloring..its too time consuming, and you are absolutely right about how long it takes..and the effort put into it. "

Jin's artwork makes me laugh... lol Its not like hes gonna win..and if he does..thatll be hilarious! So much for competitions go.

By the way I really like Ambers...these girls are doing an awesome job...They should have a competition where you can partner up in groups...and win more money and prizes. That way no one can really get F'd over...cuz itll be a team project and fun at the same time..regardless of whether you win or not.

Thanks, again shaman...I did admire your work and honesty.

I use Pencil sometimes....but now what I do is just use INK...and shade with different type of utensils...grey, black, sharpie...and then I go over it with color pencils..or crayons..thats what I did for my picture I submitted.

I like making motion books. You know when you flip the book and it shows animation. I think thats badass....you have to trace your own work alot..and its different doing it on paper..then Flash MX. But still I like it...and everyone that loves flipping art books can relate to that....cuz its right there in front off you and not on the computer screen. XD

I wish I had more time to submitt this...like maybe a month. I could of taken the tiems to by pastels...and actually work "work" on it...then to just look and draw from a comic. This took me like 3-4 hours.
Aiiwolf - 1/30/2009, 11:16 PM
@ JamesH: thanks bro but yea i was trying to use the original "hulk" logo but i dont know..guess i screwed up there. :)
SolidSnake910 - 1/31/2009, 12:23 AM
by the way.would anyone happen to know when we'll know who the winner is? is it gonna be posted up on the site?
SolidSnake910 - 1/31/2009, 12:29 AM
They said January 31 the judges will decide. I guess...Later today...or this afternoon...or maybe tomarrow. I hope these Judges, say you know what "[frick] it" Lets use that 200 dollars to buy more DVDs and give out more award to everyone that participated. Wouldnt that be badass. Everyone would be a winner. It be awesome. Blu ray or dvd that what im thinking? I hope who ever it is, deserves it. :)
Aiiwolf - 1/31/2009, 2:20 AM
@Solid, nah... you didnt screw anything up bro! I think its a good decision that you didnt. I myself wanted to use the logo but i was unsure if it makes my submitted piece not fully original and disqualified. Better safe than sorry huh? :)

Ill submit my piece with the logo on DA instead. If anybody is interested in walkthroughs and WIPs, ill post the link here. :)
JamesH - 1/31/2009, 8:36 AM
i hope they decide quick man i can't take the anticipation!!AAAAAAH!

@JamesH: thanks bro
