"I am not going to give any trade secrets. You will have to pay," he said with a laugh. "How much is it to go to a movie? you never know its like oil it just keeps going up. I look forward to making that movie and throwing our spin on it."

The Man Of Steel will start filming this Summer with a late 2012 release date.

I'd rather no Pa Kent in it or an origin... I hope he's flashbacks coz he ain't old enough to play today's PA lol.

Cool find @ Waylon buddy! ; )

Lee, how is he not old enough to play Pa Kent to a young Clark? The Kents didn't find Clark when they where in their 60s. Costner is more than old enough to have a son in the 30s, btw

He sounds like he's all for it , and he's a good choice

@rbfn04 Thank you for saying that dude. I don't understand why everyone thinks they have to be in their damn 70's or 80's.

@LEE By the way dude stop saying Ma and Pa. This is going to be a modern Superman, whether you like it or not.

Oh yeah and Costner is going to be awesome as Jonathan.

Costner is an inspired casting choice. So far it's VERY early, but this lifelong Superman fan is cautiously quite looking forward to Synder's take on the character.

Casting for this film is remarkable. Dead-on with every role casted so far.

Well Diane Lane is like 46 or so, so I think it is a fairly close age area

I'm glad they are going with a younger set for the Kents....and now I can finally say Martha Kent is hot,

@Superguy- Dude I agree with you. I don't get why so many people must complain about the age thing. I mean I'm glad Snyder is bringing a new twist to the typical Superman canon. Makes it newer and more interesting. Sticking with the same old cliche is just what Singer did and it sucked.

Hopefully Snyder uses 'Birthright' as inspiration for the film. Having a younger Jonathon and Martha would be cool!

Casting is PERFECT so far- Henry Cavill as SUPERMAN, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Kevin fu*king COSTNER as Jonathon Kent!!

This is just great. SO far my favorite casting is with Costner, he was born for the role of a salt of the earth farm-daddy who raised his son with simple american/christian values.

THAT is dead-on Kevin Costner right there!

Diane Lane will be a refreshingly hott Martha! She may just breath new life into the character the same way Cavill will for Superman!

And boy howdy- Henry Cavill will be a pimp-ass Supes! Smacking around villains, THAT is the Superman we've waited for.

@xXkryptoniteXx- Veeery true. They could very well apply prosthetics to make Diane Lane 'appear' older. They did that same thing with Angela Basset for her role in Green Lantern as Amanda Waller...because Angela was so hott but the character itself is morbidly obese and rather 'fugly' so they had to 'fugly' her up with makeup.

But I really hope they don't do that to Diane. I rather we get a younger Jonathon and Martha Kent in the films for once.

I'm a bit curious on how Synder would turn a hot mama to a typical farmer's wife. I'm happy where this film is going. Can't wait for more casts.

i'm fine with cavill, heck i'm happy with costner...but Diane Lane???!!!

it's not just the age thing...it's how she looks!!! she's still waaaayyyy too HOT for playing clark's earth mom. come on...and it's not like there's no other good if not better actresses out there to play the role instead.

i have two VERY strong candidates in mind, both have co-starred with Costner in the past. they are:

- JOAN ALLEN (she plays mother REALLY well..played with costner in The Upside of Anger).

- PATRICIA CLARKSON (again, she's a natural for mommy part. a DAMN good actress. played Costner's wife in The Untouchables)

there...i think Snyder was wrong in his casting of Diane Lane. i love her, but she's just WRONG for this role...at least for now.

The problem I have with Kevin Costner is that he is always Kevin Costner, no matter the role. It is kind of like Nick Cage is always Nick Cage, and Jack Nicholson is always Jack Nicholson. Costner is more of a "movie star" than an "actor." The guy didn't learn an English Accent to play Robin Hood! He's fine in many films, but this kind of role should go to an actor who can be less obvious in the role. I could see Martin Sheen or Craig T. Nelson.

@localman- Sheen is in Spider-Man ;D

Kevin Costner will be great in the role, mark my words.

@BaneKill77, they did not look like they were in their 60s when he was Superman, they look like they were pushing 90! Be truthful.

They are building a good cast, I like the cast WB/DC has building for Green Lantern, The Dark Knight Rises & The Man of Steel I think this is the beginning of a very good thing! :)

@cbegin09- Very true. GL, TDKR and MOS are all shaping up to be greatly casted and done with much effort! I'm glad it seems WB has finally learned their lesson and are at long last giving Superman the film he's long deserved.

I have an interesting question, considering Snyder take on Man of Steel is as if no other Superman movie was made before...
