Can't believe there are still articles about Smallville. I still think the WB should try a Deadman tv series.

Ok, I'll admit to enjoying a few eps..a few performances, a few storylines etc. But by and large it was far too inconsistent to ever be called "good". Durance was a good Lois, I liked his parents..Green Arrow was decent..but the show was just too glossy and melodramatic. It as like watching Dynasty with capes. I tuned in to the last season just to see how it was going and almost fell asleep.

Everyone seems to love blasting Smallville. I personally invested 5200 hours of my life watching this show over 10 years. Yes it was disappointing in the end but I did enjoy the show and sometimes hope WB decides to do a spin-off. They can learn from their mistakes and make sure the next main character actually suits up.

And for the record I have read on here for a long time and I am pretty sure you will find everyone who "hates" Smallville commented AFTER every episode. Because whether they admit it or not they watched it too.

The Series Finale absolutely sucked in every way. Lex Luthor's return was honestly the best part and the only part worth watching. The wedding was pointless. Kent didn't even wear his glasses. Still might buy the DVD. Maybe, just bc I'm a collector.

LOVE SMALLVILLE! Haters gonna hate. X-Files was on 9 years and had it's flaws. Same with Seinfeld. Same with Stargate(s). The DCAU as well. But, they finished it best they could and cared about the fans. Will be missed.

The great thing about Smallville was it made Superman suck less, because, out of the all the big superheroes, Superman had the worst reasons for donning tights and becoming a superhero.

I'd love to know how Smallville "sucked", considering it lasted a decade and had quite a considerably sized audience. Oh, wait, let me guess, it didn't stick to the "source material". Am I right? That seems to be the usual garbage excuse for anything the geeks don't like.

As for the final episode not really showing Superman as such; the show was NEVER about Superman, it was always about CLARK. People saying it sucked had the wrong perception of the show.

Nevermind though, we've got the slo-mo fest version of Superman coming out in the near future. Bloated S-Shield and foam latex body suit included. yay :|

@RyKnow YES! YES! BRILLIANT! GENIUS! CONGRATULATIONS! SOMEONE WITH A BRAIN AND THE MATURITY LEVEL OF AN ADULT! (I'm being serious)

FINALLY! Someone shuts these internet trolls down and for once it isn't me! WOOOOO!

I may be a geek, but I truly am willing to give anything a chance, THEN base my opinion and for the most part, i've yet to be disappointed with few minor gripes along the road. This was a good show, and FINALLY someone else pointed out it isn't about Superman, but Clark! YES!

Also, I see I'm not the only one fearing for the Man of Steel's life as the worst director in Hollywood helms the franchise... oh boy...
RyKnow
RyKnow - 10/23/2011, 3:53 AM
@ TheBlitzkrieg - Thanks dude, appreciate your reply. What a lot of them don't get is that when Smallville started a decade ago, it was promoted as Superman's early years, about how a teenager would deal with realising he's an alien from another planet. These guys were probably either too young to remember this, or they just lost sight of it along the way. Yes, it had it's "filler" episodes, but overall, it stuctk with what it set out to do.
Man of Steel? Yeah, not much hope for that really. As you very rightly put it, the worst director in Hollywood is helming it.
Stay safe bro.

I watched the entire smallville saga. I started watching it my senior year of high school, and finally finished it. I loved the show. I agree with Knight3000. Seeing villians like Brainiac, Zod, Doomsday, Darkseid, and Lex on screen was amazing. Even if its just a small screen. Marvel fans have the current film series Iron Man, Hulk,Thor, and Cap creating a film universe, but in Smallville it became more like DC's universe on TV. They had guest star Impulse, Aquaman, The Wonder Twins, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Hawkman, Hawkgirl(mentioned), Green Lantern (Flashback scene), The Flash (flashback) Stargirl, Star Spangled Kid, Cyborg, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, Supergirl, Superboy, even a reference to Krypto the dog. This as a comic fan was amazing. I'm Prolly forgetting a few too.
