I truly hope this script rewrite has removed the whole werewolf plot out of it. The Silver bullets were not used for fighting Indian werewolves. They were his calling card.

Heres how this movie should go
A. The Ranger and his crew get ambushed, he's left for dead
B. Tonto saves, heals, and helps the Ranger
C. The Ranger decides to find the men who tried to kill him
D. Gains the moniker of Lone Ranger
E. The Lone Ranger and Tonto fight the criminals
F. The Lone Ranger fights the leader of the pack
G. The Lone Ranger and Tonto ride off in the sunset for more adventures

I like the casting, I can't wait to see first images. Hopefully they aren't too ridiculous with the costuming. I would imagine the Lone Ranger will get a redesign as well as Tonto

I could see this being a surprisingly good movie like the FIRST Pirates of the Caribbean movie. There are definitely worse movies being made right now.

As we have American and I mean a real native American. J.Depp As my approval I am heard from friends who have been in contact with him, in LA ,where I am from that ,are also Of native ancestry that he is legit and more than welcome to represent us. I can say that I am honored that Mr. Depp has Chosen to be a part of this I look forward to seeing this movie and also hopefully being in it as I will travel to Santa Fe to show my artwork within the next month. Because as an artsy f*rtist i have been invited to do so, as an ass kicking beer drinking sexy lady lovin Native American I can also think feel and spiritually evolve enough to be able to translate the experiences of this life onto canvas and experiences of the life that follow

My great-great-grandfather was full blooded Cherokee Indian. I'm sure I have JUST as much Native American blood in me, if not more, than Depp. Why they didn't choose an authentic full blooded Native American is beyond me.

If we cut the Animorph Crap from the Script and bring a badass Gunslinger Ranger, then yes....I'm down!

The wording of this press release is most concerning. Notice how it emphasizes Depp as the star of the film, even though he is not playing the title character. This is nothing about breaking the stereotypes of how Native Americans are portrayed in film. If anything, it perpetuates one of the worst ones of all- having other races portray them. Having a little bit of Native American blood in you is a far cry from being full-blooded from one tribe or another. I'm also absolutely certain that of all the full-blooded Native Americans that walk the Earth today, at least one of them can act, and act well enough to carry his weight as an authentic Tonto. Now THERE is a way to show some respect to these noble people. But no. All we're getting is another 200 million thrown at Depp's insatiable and arrogant ego. Where does it end?

What's with this new thing having boxes that cut off parts of comments? I've been noticing this a lot lately. Really annoying!

Something tells me this is gonna be a huge fail. Crossing sci-fi into westerns doesn't seem to work. Cowboys and aliens can attest to that

if they keep it a western it will be good. skip the supernatural stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and i still HATE the idea of depp playing tonto.

Just so long as they dont ruin the story im sure they could make a billion sequels. lets just hope at least some of them are good.
