Storyboard Artist Jay Oliva Says Get Ready For A Lot Of Action In MAN OF STEEL

While talking about the latest animated feature he directed, The Dark Knight Returns Part 2, Jay Oliva talked a little bit about drawing storyboards for Warner Brother's next superhero movie, Man Of Steel, and said that the film will contain a lot of action sequences.

Jay Oliva is pretty deep in the Warner Brother's trenches, working on most of their animated projects, including directing their latest two, as well as working on storyboards for some of their live action films. One of those films that he just worked on was Man Of Steel, where Oliva said that a lot the ideas he had for The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 he couldn't do because he had already did them in Man Of Steel. "I can say it's awesome," he gushed. "One thing I can say is that there were some things in this movie (The Dark Knight Returns Part 2) that I didn't want to do because it's almost the same as Man Of Steel." He also went on to say that the action that you will see in The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 is the same type of action that you will see in Man Of Steel. "I did a lot of the action sequences, so you'll see a lot of action," he explained.

As of right now, Man Of Steel's plot points are pretty foggy with no real information available. You can catch the film which stars Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner,Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Christopher Meloni, Richard Schiff, and Harry Lennix when it opens on June 14th.

The action was superb, especially how Supes moved in the shadows, If we get sth. remotely similar to that, than damnnn!

I'm hoping for lots of litle cameos. Brainiac would fit in there, if it were during the Krypton sequence. So would Doomsday.
I personally think it would be nifty if they were to slip a sneaky Pandora cameo, in there, as a reference to the storyline in which Supes lost his undies.

Whenever they reboot batman, I hope they give him a mask that allows him to breath out of his nose. In that gif Nomis posted Bale looks like a little kid in his dad's SCUBA mask.

I was with my guy yesterday & I showed him Watchmen 2 get a feel of whats 2 come as far fighting scenes go. He said it was too long but really enjoyed Rorschach,but honestly who wouldn't. XD

All in all I hope we get 2 c this finally in a Superman Movie



I would bust a nut watching that n who better than Snyder 2 bring that scene to life.I'm hoping Supes finishes Zod like that.How bad ass would that be??

Honestly they can even use the same dialogue from the falcon punch scene & it would still make sense.That scene was made for Snyder 2 the tee.Plus it would go with Supes giving himself up 2 the gov't or w.e maybe thinking he is too dangerous....That is until he meets Zod & can actually let loose without a care bcuz "he can take it".

@ rbfn04 - Before you get all you, keep in mind that Superman wasn't allowed to be seen by the general public per RR's orders.

So he just flew really fast and never stopped to mingle with the crowd...just like in Miller's comic. So before you get all "Superman is blah, blah, blah" keep in mind who wrote the story.

I'm sure Oliva talking about Superman having to fight someone in a mech, not traveling in the shadows.

@rbfn04...he means in that movie superman is all emo and shit. There's a scene where he says"All my life I've had to live in the shadows and you will spend the rest of your life in the dark..THE DEAD DARK!!" then he has this new power where he can move from shadow to shadow as he beats up bats.

Chris Reeve FTW! But ready for a new epic MOS film with the Cavill/Snyder connection. On another note, anyone ever notice all the similarities between Jesus and Superman? One had disciples and the other had a justice league. Both fathers sent their only begotten son to earth to save all of humanity. They both could be considered "gods" to normal humans. One has Mary by his side and the other has Lois. I don't think Supes can turn water into wine tho..

@Rb lol. I saw the second TDKR and can't really remember anything that sticks out like a holy shit moment for a superman action(loved the flick though, grinned like the cheshire pussy in the end) Have to go back and watch that part again. I just hope supes is done justice(power wise) in this flick and not relegated to being a glorifies tow truck for aerial objects.

There's already more action in the trailer than in all of Superman Returns. Of course, knowing Snyder, it'll all be in music video slow motion. Without slo-mo Syder's movies would all be half as long.
