The CW Pushes The AMAZON Pilot Back Until Next Season

After some recent casting rumors, it seemed that CW's interpretation of Wonder Woman before she was a hero, titled Amazon, was picking up steam. Now, it would appear as if The CW has decided against moving forward with the TV show this season and will wait until next season to shoot it.

A couple weeks back we got some news that Amy Manson was the front runner to land the roll of Diana Prince, AKA Wonder Woman, in the upcoming CW pilot titled Amazon. All indications seem to show that the show was moving full steam a head. Now, according to Deadline, the show is at a stand still. Instead of moving forward with the project for this seasons pilot orders the network has made the choice to wait until next season to shoot the pilot.

Amazon was the first pilot that The CW started working on for this season, even starting the casting process back in November. That was before the script was even ready. It just appears that the show was no where near ready to shoot. Given the success of the television show Arrow, which is based on DC's Green Arrow, the network is wanting to make sure they go about handling Amazon just right. As of right now the show is still very high on the priority list for The CW. For the latest on all things Wonder Woman, make sure to check back here at CBM.

Warner bros are [frick]ing up so badly its not even funny. Canceling cartoons, making this crap, rushing a JL movie out the same year as Avengers 2. When does the horror end?
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 1/28/2013, 1:11 PM
kill it with fire
SuperPickle - 1/28/2013, 1:11 PM
Again, this just proves how fricking stupid WB execs are. This never should have been green lighted. It's a stupid idea given birth by stupid people.

Big screen, proper treatment, or at least an actual Wonder Woman show executed properly. Themiscyraville sounds retarded. Pull the trigger and lose it altogether.
Pokeysteve - 1/28/2013, 1:11 PM
Hopefully pushed back to rewrite the god awful premise of the show...
Come on WB. When are you going to get your shit together.
SUPERMAN2013 - 1/28/2013, 1:15 PM
movie please, yes you can get more stories and character development through a tv series, but with JLA comic out (hopefully) in 2 years it would look stupid to have a series with one actor and have her in a movie with a different actor, she needs a big ass movie,it worked for thor, having him come from a strange over worldy place and coming to earth,do it with wonder woman!
SuperPickle - 1/28/2013, 1:16 PM
Oh, and I just looked up Amy Manson.

WTF!?

Girl looks like she barely survived a few years in Auschvitz. No damn way some anorexic little girl can pull off Wonder Woman.
StrangerX - 1/28/2013, 1:17 PM

davidcub - 1/28/2013, 1:58 PM
Wonder Woman NEVER WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL! smh I'd they want a Smallville Amazon,.make it Donna or Cassie...NOT DIANA!
fettastic - 1/28/2013, 2:01 PM
The only thing the last pilot got right was casting Adrian Palicki. I thought she was pretty good. Can I imagine better? Oh hell yeah, but I have so little faith in casting directors having clue 1 who Diana is, I'm ready to slam the door shut behind Palicki and say "GOOD ENOUGH!".
dnno1 - 1/28/2013, 2:12 PM
Scottish actress, Amy Manson, is not tall enough to be Wonder Woman.

Now super-model, Amy Manson, is.
MJPETTY7 - 1/28/2013, 2:23 PM
Fine by me.
2Challa - 1/28/2013, 2:49 PM
DC/WB has never and will never care about their fans.

DO NOT CAST SOME PRETTY PENCIL TO BE DIANA!!!!!
Optimus83 - 1/28/2013, 2:53 PM
¡¡¡WONDER WOMAN NEEDS A MOVIE!!!. ...¡¡¡NOW!!!
hush - 1/28/2013, 3:03 PM
The woman should be built like an Amazon, not Buffy.

Just stop fart arsing about with Wonder Woman on the small screen and get her on the big screen already.

The animated Wonder Woman movie would have worked on the big screen, I just don't understand what's so difficult about getting it right.

Mind you... Green Lantern...

cbmf20 - 1/28/2013, 4:14 PM
solo movie or jla, no tv outing
FOOM - 1/28/2013, 4:15 PM
WB isn't stupid. Their execs can smell turkey a mile away.
SugarYumYum - 1/28/2013, 5:05 PM
Well, that inspires confidence... maybe the new CEO told them that they need to be making a movie instead...? Oh who am I kidding. -__-
Pooh - 1/28/2013, 5:09 PM
Normally I'd be very skeptical. But I think in this case the CW would have no shortage of writers who would like to write this show. It might actually be good.
Pooh - 1/28/2013, 5:16 PM
Mears - 1/28/2013, 5:48 PM
They're waiting to see how Man of Steel does....
unknownfacts - 1/28/2013, 6:20 PM
I'll wait to see a pilot before I say Yay or Nay.People always tend to think things are going to be a flop, but you never know it could supprise you.Though a movie outing for the Amazon Princess would be better though.
Super12 - 1/28/2013, 6:33 PM
There's no question she deserves the silver screen treatment. But I was looking forward to this. I think this is good news, at least if they make it they're taking their time and doing it justice
ricko8687 - 1/28/2013, 7:02 PM
Give us a wonder women with body ,
ArtisticErotic - 1/28/2013, 7:11 PM
You know what? [frick] the CW, [frick] the production on any DC properties they attempt to do. Smallville was a total waste of time, “ARROW” is a disgcrace to Green Arrow, it’s trying so hard to be Chris Nolans Batman it’s not even funny. They don’t know how to handle DC characters. [frick] the idea that they are calling it Amazon, seriously Amazon? Her name is Diana Prince aka WonderWoman not THE AMAZON.

Wonderwoman deserves a movie not a shitty CW tv show that only twilight fans would enjoy. I can see it now they will cast someone who is skinny as hell and can’t act to save their own lives. Give her a live action movie, another animated movie and an animated TV series. Stop making more Batman material, seriously I’m sick of [frick]ing Batman all the time from DC/WB it’s all they care about.

If you won’t showcase your other characters then sell them off to a company that will appreciate them. That’s why Marvel is beating the shit out of you guys, they’ve taken risk and it’s worked for them in Cinema. I give up we will never have a good representation of Wonderwoman, they simply don’t care about the character in or outside the comics.
Pooh - 1/28/2013, 7:51 PM
The least these writers could do is pick up a graphic novel.
mgeoff88 - 1/28/2013, 8:31 PM
That's not a good sign. I would rather Warner Bros. focus their complete attention on greenlighting a live-action WW movie.

We've had a Wonder Woman TV show before, now it's time for Diana to kick ass on the big screen!
TerminalVoyd - 1/28/2013, 9:37 PM
I don't know why people are worrying about a big screen Wonder Woman in light of "Amazon". It's not like Smallville impeded Superman Returns in any way. And the people worrying about Warners splitting their attention between a TV show and a movie need to relax. Those are two completely unrelated divisions with more than enough manpower to handle both respectively.

Depending on whether or not a "next season" shoot aims for a Winter 2014 midseason premiere or a Fall 2014 premiere, I suspect much like Justice League, Amazon is in a holding pattern until Man of Steel either hits or tanks. This'll give 'em room to tweak both respective Wonder Woman takes (or abandon one altogether). If they figure Justice League will work as a springboard for a Wonder Woman film, they may feel it gives them room to reinterpret further with a prospective TV version, leaving a more traditional interpretation for the big screen.
BlackIceJoe - 1/28/2013, 10:22 PM
Well I am not surprised. WB does not know what to do with DC. I wish they did but they do not. I will hold out for hope. That the reason the delay happened was to make a better show & not because WB does not have faith in Wonder Woman.
Diana - 1/29/2013, 1:40 AM
'NO' to the tv show. Wonder Woman deserves her own solo movie.

Gemma Arterton for Wonder Woman.

Shadowmaster35 - 1/29/2013, 8:53 AM
You guys make it sound like it's impossible to have WW on both the big and the small screens at the same time. Just do both. Well that would be nice if WB took their thumbs outta their butts and actually commited DC to doing something on time for once.
AINTNOTHINTOFOCWIT - 2/4/2013, 5:14 PM
The whole concept of this thing is exactly why WB is failing right now. WW tv series is nonsense at this point. They need to do a film on par with there best CBMs if not better. Instead they focus on this pussy ass shit
