Not heard anybody say anything good about Gangster Squad, so this isn't a surprise.

Hell, they can just hire me or even someone from this [frick]ing site to pen the script at this point.

Oh boy don't get me started on Gangster squad the acting was horrendous, and the dialogue oh boy was just [frick]ing bad, I mean seriously bad I am glad there getting rid of this guys script gets some one else please.

here's a bright idea, get some of the best comicbook writers who've had success with Justice League come in, then get some good writers who know how to do a proper team movie, let them work together and see what they can come up with......difficult to figure out I know, but the WB execs are oh so smart......there's a bunch of Fan Fic out there thats so good that they could just use those :S
TonyChu
TonyChu - 2/7/2013, 11:54 AM
Bruce Timm, Pail Dini or anyone from their animated film department. It's not that [frick]ing hard WB.
WolvieCBM

Ugh. Shame. WB just doesn't know what to do with this. They need a game plan. ASAP.
TonyChu
TonyChu - 2/7/2013, 11:57 AM
And notice how I say WB and not DC for the blame because it is WB and Time Warner who can't get their shit together. I read the original script to Green Lantern and it was way better than what they went with. They even had the original Green Lantern Alan Scott. DC needs a new filming company like what Marvel had with Paramount.
TonyChu
TonyChu - 2/7/2013, 11:59 AM
@LEVITIKUZ You and me take DC and WB by storm and our first order of buisness is to bitch slap all the WB and Time Warner executives for Green lantern and the canceling of Young Justice.

Bruce Timm and Paul Dini seem like the obvious choices.

However delaying JL is a smart move, it will struggle being stuck between Avengers 2 (Already established, well received franchise) and Star Wars 7 (Well, it is Star Wars)

Furthermore, waiting to see how MoS performs, again is a smart move, as if it is a massive success it may tempt to go for a couple more solo movies of both Supes and others before a JL movie, or make JL movie with Cavill, however if MoS flops that almost use JL as a reboot for e DC universe.

If this shows anything is that it seems WB is going in the right direction, people complained they were rushing it, but they seem to be delaying it to improve the movie, which I am all for.

Let's not forget Avengers did the same, where they hired Joss to rewrite the movie after Penn's script was seen as awful.
TonyChu
TonyChu - 2/7/2013, 12:02 PM
@Knightrider I don't know why they even wanted to release the film in 2015 with the Avengers 2. That I could never understand.
Viltrumite
Viltrumite - 2/7/2013, 12:03 PM
Just get a good writer with a respect/love for the source material to write the script, and then get an equally passionate director with the required skills to make the movie. It really is not all that difficult. I don't care if the movie is delayed, all I want is for it to be good. If they rush out something just to do it, they'll either suffer losses or only marginal short-term gains. Justice League has the potential to be even better than The Avengers, they just have to not mess it up as monumentally as they probably will.
Just find someone that knows what they're doing instead of the first person available. This really should not be that hard.

@TonyChu Agreed any movie will get eaten alive between those two movies, especially those that will be new to fans.

Personally, I think the WB should give DC Entertainment a billion dollars, and say "Here is a billion dollars, make a cinematic DCU, we won't interfere and all we ask is we split the profit on all DC movies 30 to US and 70 to you to keep and reinvest in future DC films"

WB would never have to pay them again and would make that back with 3 or 4 films, then it is profit for nothing

Like it's been mentioned before, WHY WB won't get at least some help from Paul Dini and Bruce Timm is beyond me.

If they look at the history of the Amazans and the Atlantis legends, they will see many emarkable similarities. There are a couple of islands that archeologists have discovered that they think could be the fabled Atlantis and/or Themyscira. They both worshipped Poseidon and there islands were destroyed by cataclysm and sunk. They had a matriarchy. I could go on, but you get the idea. If we are going to introduce these two races into a film all at once and expect the audience to take it seriously and for it to have a good degree of verisimilitude, they should link these two races and concepts. They should be the same country, but seperated by cataclysmic events and by time. Also, if you're dealing with Greek gods and you already have a character like Superman who has been introduced with a film like Man of Steel as a Kryptonian, then you could link the Kryptonian race with the Greek "Gods".
BackwardGalaxy
BackwardGalaxy - 2/7/2013, 12:17 PM
Yeah, and it's not like WB already employs people who have proven what they can do with Justice League. This is like the Heat thinking of releasing their backup center because the team isn't winning games while they have Lebron sitting on the bench.

Why don't they just bring in JJ Abrams. I mean, he is doing everything else so why not. Haha

If the script is that bad, then I don't think WB is going to do anything else until they see the results on MOS.
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 2/7/2013, 12:26 PM
Well, when you hire a writer who is not familiar with these characters, you should expect it to be underwhelming. That is the problem with WB. The writers they hire and themselves hardly know these characters or the universe they live in.

i doubt any of you can write a script worthy of the big screen...just do it if youre so confident and post it. whats the worst that can happen??...

this is disappointing to say the least. by aiming for 2015 i thought they had everything figured out. someone wrote an editorial about marvel possibly biting off more than they can chew; i think they got the wrong production company. lucky for them man of steel probably will do well. they need to seriously think about allowing someone from DC or even chris nolan himself oversee this proect. WB is out of their element

Just get Bruce Timm to over-see the DC Cinematic Universe like Joss Whedon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Have Geoff Johns co-write it with someone good. And then have Zack Snyder direct. It would work!!!

I love Paul Dini but I can't see the WB execs giving the script for a huge budget tent-pole to someone who works in television animation. There's way too much bias in Hollywood for that.

They'll give it to someone else who has churned out scripts for their films before, regardless of whether they were any good or not. Really, what they need is a director with a strong vision and affection for the source material who won't just put together a by-the-numbers script.

Speaking of such directors, I just saw the Joss Whedon written "Cabin in the Woods" last weekend. Loved that final act so much.
