The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime "Transformers" character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.

According to the site IMP Awards, below is the newly released teaser poster for the upcoming movie.

Also, from a thread in Michael Bay's official forums, Shoot for the Edit the director himself has said a few words, as quoted below:

The post process is going very well - way better then ROTF. We have massive shots but we got going 6 months earlier on this film then the last. We jump very hard and fast on post in this film.

It really is looking special. The 3D will the best 3D of any movie this year.

Michael

Our trailer comes out next week on Fast and a bunch of other stuff. 3D trailer comes out on the next 3D movie out which is Pirates.

The poster looks a bit simplistic, while now we know that a trailer is to come with Fast Five and Pirates of the Caribbean. Anyway, Transformers: Dark of the Moon will hit theaters on July 1, later this year!
