Deadpool (played by Ryan Reynolds) made his big screen debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and when IGN Movies caught up with Hugh Jackman recently, they asked him whether he would be interested in again starring opposite a new and improved version of the fan favourite character. "We sort of took a pretty strong choice on Deadpool, where we kind of stitched him up. And I love the character of Deadpool and I think that the sort of badass, fast-talking, funny, annoying Deadpool vs Wolverine would still be cool. We’ve sort of done it, but I think we could have done that much better." Be sure to also watch the video above as Jackman reveals exactly what he's head about the Deadpool script which is doing the rounds at Fox...

What the heck is going on with this guy? First, he's claiming his time with Wolverine is 99% over, now every few days he's fantasizing about a Wolverine crossover with another character.
Kurne - 5/22/2014, 3:43 AM
Deadpool and Gambit are def candidates for the 2018 film.
Sophisticated - 5/22/2014, 3:45 AM
Make it so Mr. Sulu.
TimL - 5/22/2014, 3:47 AM
@Luminus his time was over because no one wants to star in a franchise that is as borked as the FOX-Men. With DOFP they effectively erased all traces of the past movies which adds a fresh breath of air and they can effectively change everything (including the retarded Wolvie Origins Deadpool). It's a clean slate, who doesn't want to take part in a franchise with a clean slate where all mistakes are gone and you can effectively create something similar to the MCU, with proper continuity and everything tying in nicely.

That's what happened.
DEVLIN712 - 5/22/2014, 3:49 AM
Unfortunately, Deadpool will never make it to the big screen

@TimL: Can't wait to see it. I want to feel revitalized, too!

This guy is such a piece of corporate shill. After checking out many of his interviews over the past years and seeing all of his contradictory statements, I have no doubt that he just loves to regurgitate everything the studios want him to say.
JasonBlue - 5/22/2014, 3:56 AM
He must have gotten a great new contract to play Wolverine.
Also... Ryan Reynolds is way too old to play dead pool now
TheAbaryMan369 - 5/22/2014, 4:00 AM
As much as I want a Deadpool movie, it won't happen. Mainly, because Fox wouldn't risk an R rated X-flick UNLESS it was Wolverine 3 or Old Man Logan (or something of the sorts) because they know it has a chance of succeeding because of Wolverine alone. Doing it with Wolverine first might just give Fox the confidence to try with Deadpool. And they probably wouldn't make an R rated movie because Hugh Jackman doesn't like the idea of keeping his younger fans away. Wolverine could possibly have two cuts (one being R and one being PG-13) and that may work, but not for Deadpool. For Wolverine, just add more blood, more swears, have the Claws do a little bit more, and you're good. If you're making an R rated Deadpool movie, it had no chance of being turned into PG-13. Not a chance. Unless Fox pussys out. Which they will.
Ruhail - 5/22/2014, 4:01 AM
Yeah this isn't happening
MrBatmor - 5/22/2014, 4:02 AM
No shit!!
CherryBomb - 5/22/2014, 4:06 AM
X Force should happen first THEN Deadpool solo movie.
Azazel1 - 5/22/2014, 4:07 AM
Awesome bring it....

Won't be happening though..
pointman - 5/22/2014, 4:08 AM
You could have done him better jackman???? Ya think??? YA THINK??? At what point did someone on that cast and crew not have the common sense to raise the B.S. Flag on that train wreck? I was watched fan mde youtube videos better plot/script/direction AND costumes.
Tetrahedron - 5/22/2014, 4:09 AM
@Luminus: Um, it's called promoting a movie.
EsoOne - 5/22/2014, 4:09 AM

GenerationX - 5/22/2014, 4:15 AM

BatmanIsBaddest - 5/22/2014, 4:23 AM
@TimL
People like you aren't even worth arguing with anymore. Jackman said that after seeing "Days of Future Past" he felt the franchise was fresher than it has ever been and that's why he getting excited about it again. You slanting the facts to support your own opinions sickens me deeply.

@nibs
You don't like him... Oh well. I'm sure he's not losing any sleep over it.

@JasonBlue
It's only been like 5 years.

@TheAbaryMan369
If MARVEL isn't gonna go for an R-Rated CBM then neither is FOX, with Wolverine or without, mark my words.

@pointman
Are you on steroids?

@Tetrahedron
Not everyone in Hollywood is dishonest about their feelings.
staypuffed - 5/22/2014, 4:28 AM
Are people really hating on Hugh Jackman? The guy is amazing.
Highflyer - 5/22/2014, 4:29 AM
Bring back Ryan as Deadpool and I'm all for it.
RedMosquito - 5/22/2014, 4:31 AM
So what, he just didn't notice that they were taking a massive dump on Deadpool while they were making the movie? Dude is full of sh1t.
sKeemAn - 5/22/2014, 4:35 AM
I have to admit though, Jackman is pretty motivated about Wolverine right now. All of his interviews are campaigns for Logan to be in a movie with other characters besides the X-Men.

"ENOUGH WOLVERINE!!!! [frick]!!"

"NitPicker" indeed...

TheJester - 5/22/2014, 4:47 AM
Ryan is gonna need it after several abysmal movies in a row.........
loki668 - 5/22/2014, 4:48 AM
No. You have NOT had Wolverine meet Deadpool. Not yet, at least.
NitPicker - 5/22/2014, 4:56 AM
@BatmanIsBaddest

Not hardly.

OdinsMissingEye - 5/22/2014, 5:05 AM
People should understand that if Jackman got in on the Deadpool movie it would no longer be a Deadpool movie, it would be yet another Hugh Jackman as Wolverine movie featuring Deadpool.
charlie2094 - 5/22/2014, 5:06 AM
That'd be cool to see! Be great to see!

Days of Future Past has me excited about the franchise once more, can't wait to see what's next
TheAstoundingMan - 5/22/2014, 5:12 AM
Having seen DOFP, I'm all for another take on the Weapon X programme (obviously better handled this time). From what I gather, Hugh is keen to stay on because of the promise that the franchise now holds, which sort of goes against the idea of covering old ground, but we shall see.
OdinsMissingEye - 5/22/2014, 5:14 AM
Also I do not know how they would make a Deadpool movie as any actor that plays DP will either have the mask on all the time or have a his face covered in cancerous tumors and when was the last time any superhero movie came out which had the starring role wear a mask for the entire movie or even 50% of the movie for that matter.

charlie2094 - 5/22/2014, 5:17 AM
@Odins

Urban kept the mask on the entire time for Dredd...not your average huge superhero film but still. So long as you get an actor that's passionate about the role, sure they'd be able to leave the mask on. Not to mention there'd likely be flashbacks or whatever where his face can be shown
